i have no idea what happened to that game. last time i heard about it was a few months (or more) ago when i read an article about it in some gaming mag my friend had. i dont know about it being better than vice city though...driver 2 wasnt that great, the concept was good but the graphics were horrible, worse than driver 1, which were very good for when it came out.

This months Electronic Gaming Monthly has DRIV3R on it's cover (DRIV3R is the official name) and it has gotten good ratings! The game looks great, and should be out this fall, just in time for christmas!

The game has gone 'gold'. This means that the game is done, and is now getting the cds (DVDs now I guess) and boxes ready to be shipped to retailers.

Now, will this game be good? One of the concerns about the game (and why it was delayed) was that the game still needed to fix certain problems that were prevelent in the game before the delay (choppy framerates, graphical glitches, etc.). Heck, some of the game reviewers and so forth were concerned about whether or not even with the delay, the game will be fixed. If this is the case, the game could be another disappointment. If they did fix it in the time that was given with the delay, could be a great game then.

I guess it has a lot of glitches!26.gif  To bad.  I thought this was going to be great game!!!!!!  Oh well, another disapointment.  Thats what you get with all the hype.  Lets just hope Halo 2 lives up to expectations,  Thats all that really concerns me.9.gif

Me and my cousin just rented this game, and we have been playing it for hours and hours!  While the game does have many glitches, they aren't that annoying.  The game is very fun, and worthy of the Driver title!  Plus it has great grahics.  Almost reminds me of x-box games.

i bought this game last week and have been playing the missions and so far i am very impressed with it. as hummer said there are some glitches but they are not a big deal, the game is very fun and realistic. i find the car crashes to be much more realistic than any GTA game. Actually, i am finding this game to be better than Vice City. Well see if it can hang on when GTA san andreas comes out in a few months.

GTA- San Andreas will be the god of all games ever thought of.  Driv3r was good, i rented it.  It kept me playin it for a while, but it doesnt have anywhere near the replay value of GTA.

I rented this game last week and liked it alot. Out of all of the GTA concept games, it is definently next in line behind GTA. Didnt understand the score, however gamers who are very bad (like me) will find the missions an unexpected challenge.

I got Driv3r June 30 for PS2 and quite frankly, I was unimpressed and I found the aiming system too cumbersome and rediculous. I didn't really find this incarnation of Driver that exciting and hardly different from all the previous versions. The graphics are nice, and thats about all I can say about the game. It is something I play when I haven't cashed a paycheck and I dont' have any money on hand to buy a new game. I'd give it maybe a 4 out of 10.

The aiming system almost made me break my new controller in half from frustration.  It was absolutely pathetic.  A -2 out 10.

Yea, the aiming system was the worst. Actually, maybe there really was no aiming system....

i hope driver 4 comes out, driver 3 is nice, but driver 2 had multiplayer, and you can get killed by a gun, and kill people with driver 3, and you can die from running, you can't sit down and rest.

I hate everything about it! In GTA SA you can knock over lampposts and trees. The junctions in missions are perfectly timed to get in your way, the camera is in the worst. It gets in the wrong places.

And swimming. The cops are after you. Your on a boat. they machine gun it until it explodes. your wanted level is getting smaller. Theres a boat just about 10 metres away. swim and at the last your wanted level is gone and you drown. WHEN you can swim. Driv3r throws a constant stream of failure in the face.

I like Drive3r and still play the game off and on it has many flaws, but it was the first game you could actually swim in and it came at a time when no GTA was around so it was good for the time...Now its not as good because its old and compared to San Andreuas its not that great. Its still very fun and better crashes. It does have motocycles and plenty of levels.Even some european levels and again Florida/maimi just like Driver 1 and Driver one ruled!44.gif

I hope driver 4 kicks Driv3r's butt!44.gif
