Very well planned, your city has a good development but I'll suggest you a little bit more trees. Other than that it is very nice, good work

As Head of The City of Virgin Shores Utilites Commission,

I will propose the Solar Power Plant on the Coast Hwy and Port Blvd next to the oil well derrick.

I will show where the Solar Power Plant will be built by the Virgin Shores Department of Water and Power.

HampusVillageEast.jpg

On the upper right of the picture, That is where the Solar Power Plant will be built, It will be built next to the oil well derrick on the Coast Hwy and Port Blvd, north of the power outage area on Supercity Ln.

    sedimenjerry: Yes it sure is...

RushHourFreak: Thanks. Where do you mean a bit more trees?

nousername: Pick a house, any house. I don't think they'll care, but it's not really much of a mountain, in fact the top of the retaining wall is the standard terrain level for the region. Below it is the slope down to the coastline. The next update will come soon.

supercity124: There's not enough room for a solar power plant there.

OK, I was wondering if I could get a house in the game. Any medium-wealth one will do, though I'd prefer one from the Euro building set. You don't have to make it historical, but if it gets redeveloped... let's just say, you may need a police department.

I would like to rename a mistaken Center street below to Portview Dr.

Thank you deathtopumpkins for the commercial zones, that will make my hotel more attractive to customers and to you fine city as well. Great work on this.16.gif

solar plants are 6x6 and require obviously 36 tiles.

they are a lot bigger than they appear

deathtopumpkins: You can dezone the top right part of the residential area 4 tiles next to the oil well derrick to make way for the Solar Power Plant, it will fit there.

    HampusVillageEast.jpg

But, don't worry they will rebuild their houses on four 2x1 residential lots on Supercity Lane!!

    supercity124: 6x6

Splime: You could take one on the newly named Portview Dr. They're all from the euro set, and I would gladly make one historical for you.

crazyarchitect: Thanks for pointing that out. I had commented on it a few updates back when I posted it. It was a simple mistake, and Portview Dr. sounds fine. You're welcome. I encourage people to develop to their heart's content, as long as it sticks to the codes (sig).

    sedimenjerry: That they are.

    supercity124: Then I guess I'll build it.

You know DTP you could use one of PEG's small solar power stations. Their 1x2 so they would fit. Preferbley the V2 as giant AA batteries don't look very realistic.

The Department of Transportation, in light of the misnaming, approves the renaming of the street to Portview Drive.

I also support the installation of PEG 1 x 2 solar plants instead of the Maxis plant.

To anyone who feels annoyed by the Utilities Commission: You can vote against Supercity124 in the next election if you choose to. There is little you can do about it at the moment.

Umm benbrown1, you care to lurk in the shadows some more?

Anyone who has been elected to a post on the city council has been deserving. Deathtopumpkins has the right to immeadiately revoke anyones post on the Council if he feels it necesary. Obviously he is completely fine with supercity.

Haha ok, sorry to come across in a bad way in my earlier post. I just don't think its smart for a water treatment plant to be placed in an area that is highly desirable for other development. He proposed it by a small lake. Also I have never had the need for power lines in any of my cities.

Let me address this once and for all...

If I find supercity124 has gotten on my last nerve (which he hasn't yet), then I will call for impeachment, and the Council will vote on it. If one of the other Council members finds that supercity124 has gotten on their last nerve before I do, they are free to start the impeachment process. Just send a PM to the rest of the Council, who will respond with their votes.

    sim-Al2: I will.

benbrown1: Wow. I have now lured three lurkers into posting. 44.gif If he's annoying you though, all I can tell you right now is don't re-elect him.

    jacqulina: Why thank you.

DOT/Patricius Maximus: OK then. It is now Portview Dr.

Thanks for addressing that before I got here.

sedimenjerry: Be nice. I'm sure he didn't mean to sound rude. There will be no arguing on my CJ. But I would never revoke anyone's post without the Council's approval, as stated above.

nousername: I thought those were the lots you wanted the cell phone tower on... I'm confused now.

benbrown1: I agree with you. Some are unnecessary, but I'm trying to get readers actively involved, and he campaigned for it. The only power lines in the city are some rural ones (wooden posts with just a couple of wires--no high-transmission power lines--going out to Frontier.

    Ahhh...yes...the frontier. Wait....there's a frontier?42.gif

Of course I know there's a frontier. Question is now, where's the oil tankers? And we need more berths for smaller ships. I suggest a small expansion, like an extension to the pier with more barge room and some kind of micro-container operation.

    Oh, oops.

I was just trying to politely stand up for a fellow council member. Its now clear that benbrown1 is not trying to start any trouble.

    now onto virgin shores...

I think I see what sim-al2 is getting at. Although I don't know if the stex has any oil tankers. But the pier extension I htink would be a good idea. I guess that would go to the DWR. (whichc is sim-al2)

SOMY has a nice small oil tanker in one of his Industry Sets. I don't know the link off the top of my head, but there a special sub-forum at SC4D that has links to many different Japanese websites.

It seems that all the oil tankers are at sea. Perhaps to collect oil from Franklin County or for export elsewhere.

Ah, impeachment process. I wouldn't initiate any impeachment against a fellow member at this time.

I agree with Sedimenjerry. The pier extension is the DWR's concern.

sim-Al2/DWR: That would be the small town around the coal mine. I announced that Frontier was it's name a few pages back. PM about seaport, but a pier extension would be good too. I guess we'll go with that, if ti's OK with the DWR.

sedimenjerry: Right you are. And I've got the tankers taken care of...

sim-Al2/DWR: Would that site happen to be this one? http://members3.jcom.home.ne.jp/somy000/index.htm

If so, it was the first custom content site I ever looked at, and favorited.

Patricius Maximus: Good observation. I'll get some ploppable tankers. I do now have some ploppable container and cargo ships, though. (Currently in beta testing from Peg)

I don't plan on impeaching anyone. I want this to ba a fun place, so we're going to stop talking about that now.

    We have a winner!

If you give some planning resources (cough)map(cough) I will plan you a expansion.Of course, there aren't any good small container ships of what I was thinking of.

Wow, real politics seem to be emerging here. Reminds me of the House of Commons at Prime Minister's Question Time! lol.

We at the Department of Planning are a fairly placid bunch though (I hope you don't mind me inventing a few imaginary colleagues!). We don't want to rock any boats.

As I was reading the 'Solar saga', I thought a compromise could be to use one or two of PEG's 1x2 solar plants instead of the massive collector. I see though that Patricius Maximus beat me to that suggestion, so i'll just go agead and agree.

Speaking outside of my departmental responsibilities: I think it's a great sign that the Udilities department has its eyes set on renewable energy rather than the more budget friendy non-renewables. As an oil producer, I believe Virgin Shores should be aiming to create a 'green' image for itself to present to the wider world.

sim-Al2: Your proposal is currently under consideration. I apologise for mislayin the details of your previous land purchase. The planning deparment needs to get its house in order!

I also support the building one or two of PEG's 1x2 solar powerplant, the city isn't that big that the we need to build the big solar powerplant just yet I think.

Deathtopumpkins: Considering my department, I would like to take a look at the education map over the city and also the health map. Maybe you can send them in a pm to me?

The tankers have returned from the high seas. I'll look forward to seeing them. I believe that they'll make the port more realistic.

I also agree that Virgin Shores should take a green approach to the utilities, but that's not my department 3.gif. A solar plant will be good long-term for the city, since solar energy is abundant and easilly tapped, and it won't run out like oil.

Maybe the 1x2 solar plant can double as a tanning salon!

Ahhhhh, nothing like going green and pumping oil at the same time..
