The new refinery and pier look like it can handle imports for many years to come. Also, the deal seems mutally beneficial. I'm glad Franklin Oil is bringing growth to the area.

Some good people have applied for the posts. I'm glad that I'm the DOT head. Like you said, I'd be the best one for it.

Sedimenjerry would be a nice choice for DOR head. I think I'll vote for him 3.gif

Lastly, I think it is a wise decision to put ferries in the DWR instead of the DOT.

I'm anxious to see the results of the elections.

sim-Al2: I suppose we could do that, athough for one, development won't reach that far south for a while (up against the southern edge of the region), and two, that's a pretty large land area. The map is 4km on each side (1 large city tile)

Hampi: If you wish to acquire land on Center St., you must pick a lot to purchase, as there is no open land left along it as of last update. Just take a look at one of the pictures showing it and decide on a lot (or two 2.gif) Thanks for posting! (And, I see the banner in your sig! Quick tip: you can hyperlink a pic to the thread)

    jacqulina: Thanks!

Patricius Maximus: Well, I'm really just trying to force the growth onto the game, as for some reason I cannot get the refinery to provide jobs. I opened it in the reader and changed the appropriate value (the original version was just a landmark), then plopped it in my city, but no one works there 8.gif

So far, he's the only choice! 18.gif

    So am I. 30.gif *gulp*

sedimenjerry: I just figured Patricius would win unanimously anyway! (And, I see the line in your sig! Thanks!)

Elections will begin at about 6PM EDT (GMT-5)

Why have I not been here before???

DTP, you have such an amazing use of props that look stunning blended in with your cities! I also like the extensive use of rail as well.

I will be back, good luck with the voting.

Hampi: The one on Center St.? Then it's yours.

I see! And catchy slogan too!

    Ooh... campaigning. I like it.

sim-Al2: Oh I wasn't saying you couldn't have it. I was just pointing out some downsides.

Don't go too overboard with the campaiging, but I do like the wording of your speech. You have the right eloquence to be a politician.

haljackey, welcome! You haven't seen anything yet! 11.gif We'll be waiting.

sedimenjerry: You caught me while the post was going through. Big shoutout to Patricius for mentioning me and attracting more readers!

No debes ser nervioso. Pienso que tu ganarias. (Soy en Espanol Cuatro 3.gif)

Hampi: It will be marked historical and featured on the next update! About the election,  see below.

sim-Al2: OK. Just draw us out a plan and we'll get started! (Oh, and, I take it you want to extend the Coast Hwy. to reach it? If so, put in a proposal to the DOT)

sedimenjerry: Well, I took some spanish in middle school too. (There's no word for it in spanish, thus the english) It was a core class for the gifted program.

I assure you, you'll win. See below.

Well, I'll be gone most of the evening, so I'm

starting the election at 14:30 GMT-5.

    Which is now.

Get voting! Remember, please vote only once per position! We're on the honor system here.

    My votes are as follows:

    Virgin Oil Co. Representative CENSORED

    Head of DHE CENSORED
    Head of DOR CENSORED
    Head of Utility Comission CENSORED
    Head of DWR CENSORED
...As diplomatic as I could possibly be... sorry CENSORED, I liked CENSOREDcampaign.

deathtopumpkins: I'm making a map to help me fulfil my position!  I'll have a look at some of the proposals once i've plotted them on the map!  Don't forget though... planning departments are notoriously slow (and obstructive!) lol, joking of course.

    Hampi: Thanks for voting.

sedimenjerry: Well it was a core class for me. 3.gif We only learned enough of the background to understand why stuff's done as it is, but then again we had about 250 hours of class time...

psander5: You entered those in the polls, right? (You don't have to share on here)

Great idea! Except for that last part... SC's not supposed to be THAT realistic! 2.gif17.gif

    I have voted.

Now, I would request an aerial survey of the land I have proposed before I finalize my transaction.(also how steep is the dropoff and what is the depth of the water?)

Also, you must tell me what I can build on it at this time.

Do you like how your car runs smothly ?

Don't you just love the way the city light illuminate your nights ?

Well, thanks to Virgin Oil that is possible.

Virgin Oil believs in the extraction of Petrol with a balance to nature. No oil pit is dug unless every aspect of the landscape is preserved.

With over 5000 employees, Virgin oil has become the Lead in Petrol Extraction Technology. Allowing us to get More and still preserve nature.

So when you see a Virgin Oil Pipeline, think of the houndreds of forests that are beeing saved thanks to the a large donation given from the Heads of Virgin to the organizations that are responsible for maintaining the most Precious gift the Earth has to Offer.

You know what I just noticed? Caught up in the frenzy of election day, we breezed past the hundredth post, on the 35th day this CJ has been running. I'd say that's pretty impressive. We also hit 1000 page views yesterday.

Thanks, all of you! It wouldn't have been possible without you!

sim-Al2: Your request will be shown in the next update, along with related statistics. The only zoning requirements for residential and commercial are currently that it must be low density, stage 1-3, and not exceed 50 ft high. For industrial, the only zoning allowed is agriculture, excepting Virgin Oil Company-owned or city-owned property, but you may submit an appeal to zone an industrial park to be considered by the City Council as a whole. I will make a post about building codes, etc. once they are finalized by the City Council. Sorry for the long reply.

Santos16: Political Ad in the making! Although I think that 5000 employees figure is a little exaggerated, as the region population currently stands at slightly less than that. Also, all the pipelines are underground, so as not to disturb the wildlife, though in the future any long pipeline crossing undeveloped land will be above ground.

Oh, and, I'm adopting "We grow with you!" as the company slogan, if you don't mind.

psander5: Thanks for correcting that, though I wouldn't have minded if you left your votes up for us all to see. 2.gif And I'm posting the results with this.

supercity124: You guys are realy getting into this. I should do quarterly re-elections, if you this is like so much.

Here are where the polls stand currently.

So far they all have clear winners, except Head of DHE, which may end up a tie.

    Pollsasof2248.jpg

    15 hours left to vote!

I'm gonna have to agree with sim-Al2 here and ask you to not post any more ads, supercity124. I think we get that you want to win, but last I checked, it was unanimous in your favor.

And yes, the figures are quite exaggerated. The city takes up maybe a square kilometer at the most, and city water doesn't even serve the whole city yet. I'll get you some of the actual city statistics once you're elected. I like your enthusiasm 44.gif, but this is just a CJ.

By the way, I haven't gotten to play SC4 the past two days, so no update ready, but I promise there'll be something new after elections are over.

    13 Hours left.
