I love the quaint old suburbs and farms in this CJ. I like that little downtown too, Virgin Shores looks like a desirable place to live. 4.gif

The city is looking pretty darn good, The Wright Building has opened for buisness and our bank will help provide capital to finance the resort district expansion.

I would also like to propose our newest developments, The Grand Virginia, a resort hotel (Maxis version) to be built in the resort expansion. Wright Industries New R&D Campus (Again a the maxis reward) to go into the industrial park and Wright Pharmecuticals, a new company to headquarted in Virgin Shores (Maxis Disease research center)

Good updates... I really like the RHW highway on the embankment going above the other roads. I like the puzzle pieces you're using for those retaining walls.

Remembering the Town Proposal made by the Follomerian government, I have updated the details of the plan per your questions about it.

plan.jpg

As shown by the key, the black represents where the roads will be paved. Now to answer your question, or statement about the bridge problem, here's the places. (I would think it would be better for you to build the bridge within the tile you have already built in) The gray line represents the main bridge crossing proposal, which would connect directly with your highway, so a trumpet interchange would need to be built. If you dont have the room or resources to do that, then the second locale would be further down river, where all you would need to build is a road leading to the bridge, and the bridge itself.

Follomer would love to contribute in Virgin Shores spreading out and becoming a wider society.

^^

IHG seeing that were starting to come out of this economic crisis in Flint is intrested in with putting it's other banks a few banks in the new town, depending on size.

on energy i think we should have a simple powerline extension to the area, while on water we could eathier have a water tower, pump, or connect it to the main virgi shores water network.

Congrats on post 1900, panthersimcity4.

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

I agree with SimsAmerica's proposal to use the Modular College Set, it is perfect for creating a small college, which is the most realistic choice for Virgin Shores.

What is the Mall proposal then? I didn't see one when I went through all 65 pages, I might just have been looking right at it

I know I've gotten behind, but I promise, I'm working on a new update and will reply to everything whenever I get around to posting it.

Oh, and, the new edition of the atlas is probably about 35% complete.

And Patricius, I really need the DOT's plans for the VS-1/VS-2 interchange...

sim-Al2: Heh, there kinda already is. A furniture plant's located just off VS-1 in Oilville. Propose some industry if you really want some. 3.gif

Thank you! The building's yours if you want it.

Nick: It's OK, I'll put both.

You don't in the Resort District. 2.gif

    Artur_001: Thanks!

Simsamerica: I'm going to go ahead and put both.

    Nick: ^

    underwearman2007: I'm taking that as a compliment. 48.gif

aaglo: Yes, I could. But that area is called June's Landing. Downtown's a little farther north, by the highway.

    Nick/aaglo: I know! It's getting irritating...

    Simsamerica: 18.gif

crazyarchitect: Proposal will be done. 9.gif Though I don't like that park... doesn't really fit in with the theme.

    Hotel's good though.

blue sinjid: Oh, I might do it...

    panthersimcity4: Thank you!

    Mr. Wright: Thanks!

Hmmm... I'll consider those. You sure you don't want to use custom buildings though? There are some good ones out there...

Dan: Thanks. They're Mas71's off the LEX by the way...

Mike: Your town is the big part of update 28... 2.gif stay tuned.

(I used option white for the bridge though, with a possible upgrade to 4 lanes in the future)

Nick: Don't worry, you'll get your banks. 2.gif I promise.

And as for the utilities, give me a detailed plan based on what you said in chat and you're good.

Mother of Invention: Sure we'd be interested (though you might want to fix the double-post 2.gif )

    panthersimcity4: OK, I guess I will... 9.gif

And there is now a Panther Street in Oilville in honor of that 00 post.

    Simsamerica/phoenix7: There's a Modular College series? Linkie? 9.gif

Mother of Invention: I know... 27.gif

Nick/Simsamerica: Not everything is done in public. 2.gif I knew about the mall proposal.

First, here's a zoomed-out shot of the area where that last teaser was taken:

    281teserzoom-out.jpg

And construction was soon begun on the bridge to Archean's town, which has been dubbed Neo Follomer.

    The South bridge approach:

    282bridgewestapproach.jpg

    Different angle:

    284bridgewestapproachdifferentangle.jpg

    The North bridge approach:

    283eastbridgeapproach.jpg

    Completed bridge:

    285completedbridge.jpg

But then I was rudely jerked away from road construction by the DPS, alerting me to a fire that had broken out in a block of Maxis houses by VS-1.

Here's a screen capture of VDTP-TV's live chopper coverage:

    286fire-1.jpg

And here's what the final damage looked like:

    287destruction.jpg

    Reconstruction:

    288construction.jpg

    And the area completed:

    289completedredevelopment.jpg

Department of Public Safety, you might want to take this as a hint that Oilville needs a fire station... 2.gif

Once the fire was over, I returned to the southern bridge approach area to do some detailing.

    2811superdetailingnearbridge.jpg

I also constructed some new development around there and built a cemetery.

    2810newdevelopmentcemetery.jpg

Lastly, I did some work on Neo Follomer:

    2812farms.jpg

    2813NeoFollomeroverview.jpg

    2814superdetailingalongFollomerHwy.jpg

I know this was kind of a small update, but I promise the next one will be big, and will fulfill everybody's requests.

Awesome! I'm feeling excitement for the growth of Virgin Shores. Soon you'll have towns all over your region. ^^

ooooo update coming soon. i haven't been around here lately and look at that, a 20 comment page flip bug...how annoying. As for the stadium and team names, i have a few suggestions.

    Stadium Names

    1. Pumpkinian Stadium

    2. "Team Name Here: ex: Metropolitan" Stadium

    3. "Company Name Here" Stadium

    Team Names

    1. Virgin Shores Metropolitans (wasn't this what VS was supposed to be- VSmetropolitan area or something like that)

    2. Virgin Shores Oilers

    3. Virgin Shores Warriors

Well, i hope this gives some ideas...and i hope it makes the page flip bug go away!!!!! 3.gif

also i am working on the Utilities Plan for Virgin Shores. Which will help guide the Development of the Area's Utilities easier, and more saft for continued development.

If anyone has any suggestions or concerns For the UC department as we come up with this plan please say, as we will take them until next update.

Mike: Yes, that'll be the day. 9.gif

    starrychelx: Thanks.

JJC: Yes, it is, isn't it. I gues I'll see if IHG or LIH want to sponsor the stadium.

EDIT: IHG does, so IHG Stadium it is. And if there are no objections I'm going with the Oilers. Warriors is my current High School mascot, so that would just be distrubing, and I do like Metropolitans, but it's not really a metro area.

flyinbird93: heh... well at least the update's still above you. 2.gif

aaglo: Yes, like I said, reqests will be fulfilled in update 29.

    I know...

Nick: Thanks! It'll get done, and I look forward to that plan.

aaglo: Aww... but that got rid of the suspense. 9.gif

JJC: Thanks! And see the reply above.

I'd like to revise this proposal for the new resort extension. Instead of the large blocks of low density zoning, I propose we build a resort villiage on the coastal side of Ntq$310's original plan. Modern mid-rise condos, high end shops, cool night clubs, restaurants owned by celebrity chefs and four star luxury hotels built along pedestrian malls with a double wide mall running down the center, from the avenue to the cliff as a focal point
