WOW! The mausoleum is amazing, never seen it before... Anyway, my favorite updates are with the snow! I love the detail in your city, plus the excellent suburbs, the flora inspires me, hehe. Looking forward to more! (By the way, you have really attained the 'dark and scary east Europe' them, and incredibly!) 9.gif

A nice informative piece, and an interesting piece of architecture there. Can't say its the most beautiful thing I hev ever seen, but defiantly interesting. Did you make that, or did I just not recognize it?

Either way, cool update,

-Todd

I was responding to your newspaper article.

The snow effect - is it a seasonal thing? somekind of mod that changes the appearance of the ground cover during the winter months?

Piatra Neamt (pronunciation in Romanian: /'pja.tra 'namt), (population: over 110,000) is the capital city of Neamt County, in the historical region of Moldavia, (North-Eastern Buesti.)

Piatra Neam? lies in the Bistrita River Valley, surrounded by mountains. The nearest airport

is Bacau. The area around Piatra Neamt is one of the oldest inhabited areas in Buesti.

he city's industries include a fertilizer plant, a pulp and paper mill, and several food-processing plants. In the city are also located an agricultural machinery plant (Mecanica Ceahlu), a pharmaceutical plant (Plantavorel) and two paper manufacturers.

The city's main industrial park is situated 11 km south, in the Savinesti area. During the communist period, the Savinesti platform was one of the most important chemical plants in Buesti and the site of a research institute. Today, the industrial facility is part of the Italian group Radici, and it operates at a very low capacity.

In the recent period, the most important Romanian/Buesti commercial brands originating from Piatra Neamt are Rifil (synthetic fibers manufacturer), Altex (Media Galaxy) (TV, hi-fi, home appliances national dealer),

I'm generally not a huge fan of "dirty" CJ's... purely for the fact that they're not pretty! I guess that's the part of me that likes the "ideal" aspect of SC4... creating what could be.

That said, I've continued to follow your CJ because it truly is realistic and because everything works so well together... you've chosen your buildings very well!!

Amazing and realistic detailing. One of my favourite places here is Stanjita - such a great rural area. And, the winter photos are beautiful. Everything looks so effortless...and, we all know how much effort it really takes.

Really though, Awesome update, defiantly my style! The picture of the rainy street with the gentle illumination of the buildings is purely beautiful, that came out exceptionally well and doesn't deserve the "other pictures" labeling it received!

Loved the whole thing and hope the supplies cheer you up,

Time for Constanta v.2, which I have been working very hard on.

    -------------------

Constanta is the Capital and Largest city of Buesti, and is home to about 3,021,000 people

    in the Greater Metro Area.

A number of inscriptions found in the town and its vicinity show that Constanta lies where once Tomis stood. Tomis (also called Tomi) was a Greek colony in the province of Scythia Minor on the Black Sea's shore, founded around 500 BC for commercial exchanges with local Daco-Getic populations.

In 29 BC the Romans captured the region from the Odryses, and annexed it as far as the Danube, under the name of Limes Scythicus.

In AD 8, the Roman poet Ovid (43 BC-17) was banished here by Augustus and died there eight years later, celebrating the town of Tomis in his poems. A statue of Ovid stands in the Ovid Square (Piata Ovidiu) of Constanta, in front of the History Museum (the former City Hall).

The city was afterwards included in the Province of Moesia, and, from the time of Diocletian, in Scythia Minor, of which it was the metropolis. After the split of the Roman Empire, Tomis fell under the rule of Byzantine Empire. During Maurice's Balkan campaigns, Tomis was besieged by the Avars in winter 597/598.

Tomis was later renamed to Constantiana in honour of Constantia, the half-sister of Constantine the Great (274-337). The earliest known usage of this name wasin 950. The city lay at the seaward end of the Great Wall of Trajan, and has evidently been surrounded by fortifications of its own.

After successively becoming part of the Bulgarian Empires, the independent principality of Dobrotitsa/Dobrotici and of Wallachia under Mircea I of Wallachia, Constanta fell under the Ottoman rule around 1419.

A railroad linking Constanta to Cernavoda was opened in 1860. In spite of damage done by railway contractors there are considerable remains of ancient masonry walls, pillars, etc. An impressive public building, thought to have originally been a port building, has been excavated, and contains the substantial remains of one of the longest mosaic pavements in the world. In 1878, after the Romanian War of Independence, Constanta and the rest of Northern Dobruja were given to theOttoman Empire October 22 1916 (during the World War I), Constanta was occupied by the Central Powers front which knocked Bulgaria out of the war. (German, Turkish and Bulgarian troops). The city was liberated by the Allied troops in 1918.

In 1946 the U.S.S.R put Constanta as the head of the new country of Buesti. Since the fall of the communist government of the F.B.R in 1988 Constanta has become a major economic center.

Update One: Trikoff Square and the Northwest-Core

Koca Resid Square was paved in 1856 to honor the Ottoman Grand Vizier. However after the War of Independence was renamed to honor Alexandru Trikoff, the 1600's Buesti Prince.

Gara de Nord, the second largest station in Constanta sits at the square, which today is crossed by the At-Grade section of the M3 Metro Line.

The Northwest Core is centered around the square, and is home to some of the most popular Mueseums in the city, as well as the High Court of Justice (The Supreme Court of Buesti) and the Ministry of Urban affairs.

The High Court of Justice is Buesti's Supreme Court. It is a court of Cassation, meaning

it can overturn Lower Court rulings. It has been occupied since 1932.

The Peoples Memorial is a cemetary built for the victims of the murders commited under the Nazi Puppet state in the late 30's. Over 4340 are buried there.

Regarhu Boulevard runs through Constanta's Northern section. It is named after the 50's

    Buesti Politican.

In front of the Masoleum of the Peoples memorial is the "Peace Garden", with flowers

     from around the world.

The Ministry of Urban Affairs handles planning reuglations and public housing for Buesti. It is not a cabinet post.

The Constanta Indoor Center is used for concerts and for the Buesti National Basketball and Ice Hockey teams.

The Cathedral of Saint Constantine the Great is one of the largest Cathedrals

in Constanta, and is currently used by the Romanian Orthodox Church, the primary church of Buesti.

Gara de Nord is the Second Busiest station in Constanta and the Fourth Busiest in Buesti after Gara de Sud (Constanta), Gara de Nord (Iasi), and Tulcea Station. It currently has no commuter rail traffic, and serves lines leading to the PSSO and Tulcea County.

The National Gallery holds most of the Public Offcial documents of Buesti, such as the Constituion.

The Chathedral of Saint Cyriacus is another large church in Constanta.

The Ministry of Maritime Affairs is a non-cabinet post located in the Northwest-Core.

Glad we could be of service, comrade! *wink, wink*

Another great update, although it isn't as crowded as the previous area, I rather like this urban place. I especially loved the GLR with matching textures, really fine job with that.
