Just wanted to reply to this journal to show newcomers and those that have not seen this fantastic CJ ,even if it hasn't been updated in ages. When I see ppl's sigs say my fav CJ's this one should be in that list since it was on the first to use these orignal graphics and to push the limit of story telling over a simple building that many don't take a second to think about or how to make realistic farmland etc. I believe this CJ will be updated in my heart but in reality probably not. This is the only CJ I am willing to wait for the better part of a year for an update because it was the only one that made me stare in awe when I first seen it. Best CJ ever: Hands down.

I totally agree with you goldielocks.  I don't believe that this city journal and others, which play the game how it is, recieve the recognition they deserve.  The fancy custom lots and bats that are in the new city journals ARE wonderful, but lack emphasis on the aesthetic beauty of the true, simple Sim City 4.

I have followed the journey of this journal through its later years, but still hope for an update.  This is the best journal ever.

Thank you.

I loved Digby as well, but I think the time may have come to lay it to rest. I know, I know, it's blasphemy around here, but it hasn't been active in a long time and personally I think it's been surpassed by other more recent CJs. And trust me, I don't like saying it, because this was the CJ that inspired me to do mine.

Farewell Digby! Rest in peace.. 15.gif

Hoping to keep this CJ alive. Hopefully a new person sees this, and can appreciate its greatness.

p1, I doubt there will be an update, but I'm glad to finally see one of the most famous CJs on Simtropolis. I've heard so much about this one. I looked through 3/4ths of the pages already, and the design & complexity of this CJ is astounding! Fantastic job with this CJ... I hope it comes alive again like so many others want too.

Where the Heck Have I Been?

Well, one word. "World of Warcraft". Oh, that's three words. Okay, three words. Still, that darned game took a year out of my life!

Okay, here is a rundown of the last two years. I stopped building Digby, but did not erase it! It just sat. I tried "getting back into it" but the video card I was using wouldn't let me play the simulation. So I gave up again and went on to other games. Then I got into World of Warcraft. If any of you are into it, you know what I mean.

Now, after finally getting rid of the drug that is WoW, I have a new video card, and am building in Digby again. So the region lives again.

I have been doing a lot of building. In the meantime, I see that the forum here has changed quite a bit, and I'll have to do a lot of editing. Not to worry. I'll give it a shot.

However, I don't think I'll spend as much time as I did before with the updates. They probably won't be as fancy, but who knows!

Just leave it with me, and I'll see what I can do...

I am just as shocked as the rest of the people here... I guess all one can say is that hope springs eternal. It will be great to have this cj back. Whatever updates you do, even if they have 1/10th of the effort, will still be amazing. Good to see you back.

6.gif I am so shocked that your back Paul.

I, being a big time lurker, haven't posted in ages and it take a single post from yours truly to get me back on here!

Welcome back, I hope the encouragement of the community and the sheer admiration for your quality work will help persuade you that Digby deserves your time and fancy skills 2.gif. At present I am happy to have you back among "the living" -NARDO69. Am looking forward to reading your posts and seeing Digby emerge from the ashes, pheonix style.

Send out the heralds and let them proclaim 49.gif"Hear ye good citizens of Simtropolis - the King has returned"9.gif

I have worked so hard for the last year or so to capture the fun of this journal ( not even close 4.gif ) but now that your back...my stick is gone 15.gif

But man...cant wait to see what you have done with the place...I said not to long ago that this was the standard rule by which all other journals are judged at ST...
