    Bokrif: Thanks 4.gif

    tankmank: Thanks

    Sky Guy: Gracias mi amigo!

edmonton_stinks: Of course. Old buildings are more important that some wacky architectural experiments.

Now time for something different, a History lesson! (Only prettier and more Age of Empires3-ish)

    LisbonAOEcopy.jpg

He was instructed to sail down across the tip of Africa and then sail directly to India. He brought with him about 30 Jesuit priests, a doctor, surgeon, and several others.

    screen15.jpg

It was a very rough voyage, with the ship passing through storms and high waters.

    screen16.jpg

He first stopped at the Portuguese colony of Goa (Portugal and San Pedro were friendly at the time) and then they were granted permission to build a small settlement south of the Portuguese colony. The area was named "Guipos" after Ignacio's mother's maiden name.

    screen27copy.jpg

At first the only buildings that were there were a Jesuit church, a school, and a few huts. However, because the natives of the area were strict Hindus not very many people were converted.

A few years later Ramirez returned to San Pedro to tell the king his successful attempt at establishing a Pedrian colony in India. The king was very pleased and offered to invest in his voyage to the New World. This time however he would have to use a caravel and carry a small army of conquistadors.

    sea_monsters_crop.jpg

As they traveled across the Atlantic, the sailors on the ship swore that they saw huge sea monsters and giant spiked fish. Do these mythical creatures actually exist? We may never know. However, it should be considered that there was alot of booze being carried on the ship... 3.gif

The first place he arrived in the New World was Santo Domingo (In Hispaniola), where there was a bustling little trading port that was ruled by Spain. He then sailed south, wanting to find land he could claim as his own. He passed Port Royal (in Jamaica) , and bravely continued south until he arrived in current-day Venezuela, half of which was already claimed for Spain. He turned west and discovered a peninsula.

    screen22.jpg

Most of the coastal area was mostly covered with palm trees and grassy plains.

    screen19copy.jpg

Ignacio then founded Santa Leon de la Fe (Literally "Holy Lion of the Faith"), the current day capital of Mesias. At first it was small but quickly grew large from Caribbean trade. The town soon became the official provincial capital of the New World in the San Pedro Empire, and a cathedral was built.

    screen13copy.jpg

Meanwhile, in India, the colony of Guipos had grown a bit, but was in great jeapordy due to the nearby British and Indian forces.

Hmmm, but what about Mesias? What is it like today? Is this update a hint of things to come? Tune in next time...

Hola mis amigos! I just recently got a new computer because my old computer had some issues. Unfortunately its Windows Poop Vista. But so far Vista has been nice to me. I backed up all of my regions and plugins and put them onto my new computer also, so I still have everything.

TheSixCents: Thanks, I suppose I should start building it 3.gif

    rewright: Thanks 4.gif

feliwi: Yes, I love that CJ. I actually got quite alot of inspiration from it too.

    De Ja Vu: Gracias!

    jacquilina: Thanks Jacky!

JJC12321: I'm glad you like it, thanks!

Santa Leon is the capital and cultural center of Mesias. It was originally a quaint native town but when the conquistadors from San Pedro arrived they turned it into a bustling colonial port. Eventually the city would become one of the most powerful colonial cities along the Caribbean coast of South America, a rival to Caracas and Bogota.

    SantaLeon-Jul21461223249913copy.jpg

The main landmark of the old part of town is the beautiful Catedral Metropolitana de San Francisco de Assis. The outside of the cathedral is very plain, but the inside is much more ornate.

    SantaLeon-Mar18471223963812copy.jpg

The old town is filled with many colorful buildings that line the narrow cobblestone streets. Many of the buildings are ornate with grand facades and some buildings even have tiles on the walls like in Carife's old town.

    SantaLeon-Mar25471223964340copy.jpg

The City Hall is grand and imposing in comparison with nearby buildings. Originally the capitol of the new Republic of Mesias, the nation's government outgrew the building and a new capitol was built.

    SantaLeon-Oct1401222907225copy.jpg

Near the city hall is a reminder of San Pedro's imperial rule over the region, the Palacio Real de los Reyes Pedrianos. It was used as a recreational palace for the royal family to visit the colony. After the War of Independence it was abandoned, but would then be turned into a Anthropological Museum featuring amazing ancient artifacts.

    SantaLeon-Nov6401222907253copy.jpg

Across the bustling Avenida Real in front of the palace is the Parque de la Paz, with the Basilica de Nuestra Senora de la Paz. There is also a nearby market selling DVDs and CDs that umm are not very legit 3.gif
