Hello again, I'm back into playing SC4 after about three or four months!

I have decided that my last CJ, Searpeaks, was way too disorganised and didn't really seem like a proper city. So I've brushed up a bit more on urban planning and the like (what would I do without Wikipedia) and have decided to create a new town.

The town of Nasisco, founded April 04, 2008, is named after the tribe of 'Nasiscoans' who occupied the land hundreds of years ago. Here is a recent aerial view of the region:

RegionShotcopy.jpg

The neighbourhoods of the town shall be built using a street hierarchy system and the CBD will use a grid system. This is the layout of the CBD:

CBDLayout.jpg

This is the first neighbourhood after a year and a half of construction:

1stneighbourhoodunderconstruction.jpg

I intend this to be a 'green town', so there are plenty of open lawns and trees so break up the suburbanisation.

This is the second neighbourhood being built:

2ndneighbourhoodalmostcomplete.jpg

Now, after a couple of years a few businesses have taken residency in the CBD:

NewbusinessinCBD.jpg

Perhaps one day, this will be a home for a handful of gleaming skyscrapers! 9.gif But I won't go overboard of course.

And lastly, the three year old town of Nasisco sleeping at night, with a pop. of about 3500:

I just want to say that I have used the cheats FightThePower and HowDryIAm, and also using radical ordinances to eliminate the need for a trash dump and so I don't need to place a cluster of civic buildings every five feet. 3.gif I am not using any demand boosting ordinances, though.

By the way, for those that remember Searpeaks, I am trying to think of a new and less complicated way for interactivity with this CJ, so stay tuned!

Very beautiful and excellent work! May I recommend a terrain modd (perhaps Olympic or Columbus)?. Beautiful sculpting of the river and mountains, I look forward to more from you Teeparex!

    Hello again. 1.gif

I would have updated yesterday but I couldn't access ST for some reason. But now I can. Phew.

Anyway, I have downloaded new Columbus terrain, as suggested by nihonkaranws. The place looks much better now!

    Newterrain.jpg

High demand for housing means the town is expanding realtively quickly. I have built two new neighbourhoods just across the river from the central business district entirely to house some wealthy residents, who will hopefully provide good jobs for those who are unemployed so far.

    This is the first neighbourhood:
    Newmansions.jpg

    And the 2nd:
    2ndmansionarea.jpg

Some locals have asked for me to build a new church and graveyard for them, so I did. Here it is before the (REALLY ANNOYING) zombies, ghosts etc. come to haunt it :
    Churchyard-1.jpg

This is a pic of some more houses in the same area as the church:
    3rdneighbourhood.jpg

A new riverside industrial park has been opened to supply more jobs, as a few locals have struggled to find jobs in the area.

There, that should sort 'em out.

Finally for this update, the new Nasisco College of Technology has been opened next to the lake (I haven't thought of a name for the lake yet, or the river for that matter.)

Great to see you back! I missed Searpeaks. Only problem is, I'm not an evil billionaire in Nasisco. But hey, give it time!

Great mansion neighbourhoods, by the way.

Wow, just came back on here to find I have 17 replies to answer! Thanks for the support, everyone. 44.gif

Nasisco currently has a population of around 15,000 more or less. I have added yet more neighbourhoods to the map as well as new areas for industry and business to move in.

Also, I have named the lake in this area the Harry B. Parker Lake, after my brother, and I have named the river running through the region the River Soul, for no particular reason. 3.gif

Firstly I'll show whats going on on either side of the river. This is the western side:

    Westoftheriver.jpg

And the eastern side (where the richer people live):

    Eastoftheriver.jpg

More new schools for the growing population of young 'uns:

    Schools.jpg

I have plans to make this circled area into a marina once the population rises to around 35,000:

    Possiblemarina.jpg

The 'High-High-Tech' park, where industries focus on robotics, household appliance improvements, gadget technology, medicines, and new environmentally friendly systems:

    Northindustrialpark.jpg

Residents have given a positive responce to the nice new River Soul Park, where they can relax and take a breath of fresh air:

    Newriversidepark.jpg

This is the first shopping mall in Nasisco, located conveniently just off the highway:

    Mall.jpg

To increase the financial potential of the town, three new luxury apartment buildings have been constructed, overlooking the river:

    Luxuryapartments.jpg

This new office building in the CBD is now known as the local landmark and is the tallest in the area:

    landmarkbuilding.jpg

And finally, some more new apartment buildings:

bbfan02: Thank you. I already have a terrain and water mod though!

edmonton_stinks: Yeah I'm sorry I suddenly removed your billions but hey, life must go on. 9.gif You might get it back, or not. It depends if I come up with a really good idea or not.

    Smartypants: 'Burbs ftw. 3.gif

Mike the Mayor: Thanks. Actually my custom content folder is pretty big, but still tiny compared to some members here! And most of the buildings in there are ploppable ones which I'm not planning to use on this CJ just yet.

suplado!: The region took a long time to make, so I'm glad you like it. And it's hand terraformed in-game because I can't do the grayscale very well. 3.gif

cleaner475: Thanks for the comment 1.gif

palin1388: Yes it's definately springing up alright. It wants to spring up even more though, such is the soaring demand!

    vituuu: Thank you, I will.

pagenotfound: Then you came to the right place!

NMUSpidey: Thank you for the nice comments 48

Great work my friend. The Columbus terrain makes it look very nice! I love that little lake, plus you chose an excellent water modd. Nice sun flare, makes that Maxis building look really pretty! 4.gif
