Hmm, do you want a little assistance in making some stairs, or maybe a glass elevator, or maybe a glass covered stairway that snakes its way down on a single tile??

How about both of those if possible!!!

Wow!!! Great job here Tropod! I've fallen in love with the dual network puzzle pieces. 36.gif36.gif36.gif

Keep up the good work man. Without you, this game would be as boring as UT2004. 14.gif

There's no need to spam this thread. No need to type in capitals either. That is considered to be screaming here. And what interchange do you mean?

I have a couple of general questions about the NAM. The first involves the road over road overpasses. I've seen these in a bunch of screenshots, and they look pretty good... but has anyone looked into the possibility of creating onramps, similar to the original highway onramps for SC4? I can understand wanting to have an overpass, but could we possibly have the overpass AND the onramps? (I'm sorry if this has been discussed before... but going through 69 pages of discussion just for one small question didn't seem very desirable to me!)

It seems to me like an onramp like that would save a lot of space (not having to create an interchange using a bunch of 1-way streets...

And like I said, this may already have been looked at, but I don't think that it's included in the NAM (correct me if I'm wrong... I presently don't use it, I've downloaded it a couple of times and decided I was happy with the way things worked!)

Thanks,
jglei701

This is this what you are talking about, right? So, yea, it's already been discussed and it could be possible to do but nobody actually took the time to do it because there are so much other projects going on. And I agree with you that this ouverpass could but very usefull, the same thing with an avenue would be great to. If you want a summary of what was talked in the thread, check out the first post of the NAM resquest thread .

i got an idea that might look cool!
i was looking at some freeway/highway photos and i thought why doesn't SC4 have freeways with 4 lanes. that'd  be a good idea wouldn't it?

if any of you are experiancing these problems while on the highway in sc4

everytime you pass truck the car blows up

when you come close to the truck u get pushed back

    you are welcome to reply

i have come up with an idea 4 lane freeways 2 on each side of the wall that way no cars will blow up

    be like this

    -----------------
    - - - - - - - - -
    =================
    - - - - - - - - -
    -----------------

interchanges and other stufr like that be the same
as for transition fon 6 lane be just like the avenues

d.nikita, I would also like to welcome you to Simtropolis, but your signature seems to be a bit too long.

In response to your double-decker highway question, yes people have been trying, but it's not easy. It's like trying to create an entirely new type of transit from scratch.

P.S. There's something called the edit button. Please, use it.

I don't know if this is very useful, but I happened to be using GMax for a school project (a bridge design) and the final result looked pretty good in game so I thought I'd post a pic here:

    GREAT TROPOD!!!

Just a wonder, there seems to be a remote problem in UDI where if you're in the inside of a highway in a curve, sometimes, and it doesn't appear to happen frequently, you get bumped into the next lane.

I've personally encountered that only once, but it always happened in the same place, every single time. 32.gif26.gif32.gif.

Is it possible to fix that?

And btw, when's the next stable release of the NAM coming out? (Roughly)

@iMacWin95@   there's currently some Path issues, as already mentioned in the readme. As for the next 'stable' release.... well, the latest version is  here . as for it being stable though, not sure what you mean there. It has been, & will be in Beta for quite some time really.

    @Pkmnrulz240; aye, indeed. 17.gif

@lakeyboy; that'd be a seperate (though slightly related) issue, & would require being looked into. So no, it won't fix that. Current aims are to just improve the highways. This is something I have noticed though, not only with onewayroad/highway, but also other network configurations as well in conjunction with highways (both ground highway & elevated highway). I'll have a look into it though, & see if it can/can't be fixed (no guarantees though). It is definately somewhat annoying sometimes to have to see that in a city.

    NetworkAddonMod_HighwayFix_Alpha.zip

Because of some required changes, this file is currently no longer compatible with any other mod (files) at all. It will however be included in the NAM in due course at a later date. PLEASE see/read the README for further details.

The above file allows the ability to make S-Curve Highways, within a 1x# tile section, such as the picture above, thus giving more freedom, usability & flexibilty with the highway tools. This is applicable to both ground highway & elevated highway.

There are currently some minor items that need to be addressed still, of which are listed in the Readme. So make sure you read the README before posting any problems with it thanks. If you come across an issue that is not listed in the README, then by all means post the issue here thanks.

@lakeyboy (&/or anyone else that's interested); If you would like to post some pictures showing any/all glitches (such as the one you posted above with the Highway), then please by all means do (be sure to include the Orientation please), as this will give me some idea of just how many of these set-ups/configurations need looking into.

a new ground highway <=> elevated highway piece. When connecting the two highways together ingame you get an unrealistic slope for a highway, it would be nice to have a nice gradual slope across several tiles.

Here a preview of a realistic ground/elevated highway piece I'm working on (currently testing)

Finally! I wish the NAM overpasses were like that, because the NAM overpasses ramps are also very unrealistic... That's the reason why I never use them... I know it's the best way to save space, but I prefer to lose some tiles and have something realistic..
