Great update, I love the mix skyscraper/little houses with red roofs, and the overview is very beautiful.

Wow this is an awesome downtown area. Just the right amount of hi-rises and the highway with the bridge adds to the area very well. I also like the sea wall placement because it gives the effect of low tide. Cant wait to see more

Looking great! That's the first urban update I've seen from you, but I certainly hope it won't be the last!

The mix of hi-rises, GLR and parks is really realistic. I lke the thing penguin007 mentioned above: the sea walls which imitate low tide-excellent!!!

NMUSpidey - There's not much air traffic out of that airport, so noise is pretty much a non-issue. Thanks for commenting!

luker91 - I use mass transit extensively getting to/from work and school, so I typically include it where it's realistic.

Twenty20 - Thanks! Glad you liked it.

penguin007 - The seawall does indeed represent low tide, good job figuring that out.

nottheboss - This is the part where my modest side clashes with my egotistical side. I think they're still arguing.

    edmonton_stinks - It certainly won't be, thanks!

roboo1 - Yep, thanks for the comment!

I'm working on a larger project at the moment (to be showcased in mid-late July, hopefully), but for now, here's another update. Enjoy!

Nice suburban update! It's a little repetitive, but not too repetitive. Just like suburbs should be!

Good use of the walls to separate the residential zones from everything else. Also, nice job on the sunken railroad lines, you really take the pictures at opportune moments! 3.gif

Your use of those walls are amazing and the residental areas look excellent although I would love to see a bit more custom content in those areas

    Replies:

jacqulina - Kind words as always, thank you!

Benedict - Thanks! I'm glad it seems to be working out.

edmonton_stinks - These aren't really suburbs (they're all on the same tile as the Highlife update) but eh, close enough. Thanks!

ky72x - I am a bit of a train addict. I should probably get a new Amtrak skin, though...perhaps the Pacific Surfliner for a coastal update. We'll see. Thanks for commenting!

penguin007 - Thanks! I didn't think there were a whole lot of Maxis houses, but perhaps there are an abundance of them. Regardless, single-family houses from Maxis aren't at all that bad IMO.

NMUSpidey - I agree, Atlantic Plaza is an awesome BAT. Thanks for your comments!

rjm35 - Details are gravy. Thanks!

I know I haven't got around to commenting on all of your CJ's - that's something I'll try and remedy tomorrow when I find time. Until then, here's that project I've been promising. Enjoy!

wow, massive airport. My suggestion would be to remove any hills on the taxiways (in the 7th pic it seems like there was was a hill). Anyway great airport

Who said suburbs have to be in a different city? There are many incorporated areas of cities that could still be considered suburban. Calgary (it must get really annoying how I relate everything to my hometown) is just one big mass. The suburban areas aren't separate towns.

Your airport is amazing, and huge! Now there's an international airport that actually looks international! Much better than the Maxis crap, that's for sure, in terms of aesthetics, realism, and size (which can also be put into the realism category). Wow.

Yes, that is a phenomenal airport. The modular airport pack is a truly fun toy to play with, and your model here is fantastic to look at! The elegant curve of the terminal is wonderful, and the facilities in the center look truly realistic. This looks like an actual airport. Great work, as always!

just had a look through the whole thread and i must say - you're an artist man! I love how all yoru areas are NEAT and REALISTIC and not over the top. I strive for such a great balance, although i never seem to be able to achieve it. Well done. Nice custom content too! looking forward to more!

Ah yeah, now that would be cool. 9.gif

Man, that's one massive airport. It looks pretty darn awesome with the terminal layout and everything a traditional airport needs (parking, hotels) right there all in the center. I like how many ways that the airport can be accessed, adding the ground and elevated rail lines to the mix was certainly a great call. The seawalls look really nice covering the whole shoreline. Impressive, very impressive! 4.gif

WOW! What a big airport you have there =p

It really has everything >> a good looking terminal, hotels, parking lots, TREES (I love those xD) and of course much runways!

I also like the addition of the container part which is seperated from the rest...

    Great work! 4.gif
