Great CJ and setup of your city, I usually do not look through CJs because I have been very busy developing my own region but I am really glad that I did today. You create very good pictures and you take yours one step above a lot of others by providing brief history or daily life in the area. Very nice!!!

Good work making the map, it looks quite nice. Mayakovskaya is another purely awesome looking district in Joburg. I love the waterfront development! Too bad you don't have the nightlights for the custom buildings, though. Even so, they still are a treat to look at. 9.gif Keep it up!

Mike the Mayor: Thanks for your visit and comment.. glad that you like it! 4.gif

dfnva: that's cool, happy for every visit I get 2.gif

jadebullet: yeah, think it looks pretty OK..

jacqulina: thank you jacky, I am far from the standard of your cj but I am starting get somewhere now I think!

bbfan02: No problem man! Glad I could help out.. I will msg you info about the circled buildings.. Credit goes to Krio I think! 4.gif

s_olah: Yes, I love that one too.. corner buildings in general, hehe.. I love em all! 9.gif

bobinator: Thanks, then my work has payed off.. phew... lol

estepaflip: Hey welcome to my cj! Glad that you find your way over here.. hope to see ya around 2.gif Thanks for your comment..

projectadam: Mm.. sometimes the planning of the city is the most important one, and I've tried not to rush things.. happy to hear you liked it!! Hope to see you here again 2.gif

ky72x: hi again kyle, the map will be usefull for me I think. Then I can explain what it is I am doing and the width of it, my map is really huge! Really sucks that i didn't have the nightlights, would have looked so much better in the night pics.. tried to edit them in PS but didn't look too good 4.gif Anyways, they are OK I think hehe

edmonton_stinks: In Joburg this is definitely recognized as a historical district.. Not the typical "commie"/russian type of cj so far, but I'll get to that soon as well 4.gif Hope UNESCO has room for joburg 9.gif

The Big Z: Thank you, I've really tried to get interesting and different buildings.. or at least to mix them in a new way, think the outcome is cool.. glad that you like it!!

    Moving on..

    mall5.jpg

    mall3.jpg

In Joburg you will find posh boutiques and luxurious designer fashion around the Mayakovskaya area and its byroads. There you can stroll perfectly right from one display window to the next one. Stylish cafés are inviting to take a relaxing break. The biggest department store in the area named after it's owner - Bieska - offers a variety of international designer labels. Furthermore there is anything one could possibly long for, just like cosmetics and jewelry at the ground floor or fashion for men and women, books, a huge assortment of music, dishes, furniture or kitchen supplies. The legendary delicacies department at the third floor is an absolutely must..

In the next update I will show you the city hall of Joburg, for now.. you can catch a glimpse of it's main tower in the left corner (last picture).

I never make large paved areas, but you just convinced me to do so, this looks very nice. I especially like the diversity of the buildings, looks very european and realistic...Looking forward to your next update...

I think you should densify your city ... most old European towns are very densely build because of the fact they had city-walls where only could be build within those walls and building new ones was extremly expensive.

Wow, you have a LOT of Wall-to-Wall buildings! And you must have a lot of patience to let them all come in like that.

That is looking pretty nice my friend, I like how you set the area up around the city. Your plaza is nice, but why not try using Porkie's plazas, they would really add the only thing that is missing. Anyway great work, I think I have posted or at least visited here once, and I really like what you are doing. Great work.

That looks like a fantastic place to shop. That sidewalk cafe in the fourth picture looks like a great place to relax and people-watch in the summer months. Bring on the beers! Or is it frappuccinos?

smarty218: thanks man! I've tried to work on the euro-feeling, glad you liked it!

lucky7: wall-2-walls rule 4.gif I believe it is the most realistic way to build my cities, so I try to use em as often as I can

s_olah: Thank you very much, yeah there are some larger paved areas in those pictures.. maybe to big, but think it works 4.gif

petriknl: I think it is dense enough for my taste, at least for this area of my city. But I understad what you mean..

bbfan02: Thanks once more bbfan02, sorry I couldnt find the buildings you requested last time.. but glad you came back to my cj anyway! 9.gif

shane453: Yes, wall-2-wall is my fav.. however many of my buildings are plopped and that helps, but yes it takes a while! 2.gif

Amerikaner: Hey .. thanks for your feedback, I love porkies work, haven't noticed the plazas though, perhaps you could provide me with a link?

NMUSpidey: Shop till I drop! 4.gif and yeah, If you ever come visit me in Joburg I will make sure to buy you a beer lol

Smarty218: Hi again smarty, thank you for visiting my cj.. I appreciate it! I have to use diagonals because of the terrain, but that's ok.. I love em! 4.gif Glad you like it too!

Twenty20: Cool that you like it, I've had some problems finding the right kinds of buildings for my city but I try to mix what I feel fits..

dfnva: Well, Vodka and caviar is one of the trendiest and timeless combinations.. at Bieska you can get as much as you please! People the world over come here to try it.. 9.gif

Interesting mixture. Nice work. Although I recommend you to use shoreline lots and stuff like that.

Good ol' Liberty Islands! Someday, I'll repost my old CJ.

I would have extended that avenue through the area a little bit, but nevertheless, this is another really fine-looking sector of Joburg! I cannot get over how good those plaza fillers look along with the matching sidewalks! The grass lots also add plenty more originality to the area. Cool range of buildings, and I liked seeing another underground parking entrance. 4.gif

bokrif: Glad you like it! At first I was going to do something with my shorelines, but I realized that it just would be too much work because of my citys size and the map would also have to look diferent.. but I agree, it probably would look better!

edmonton_stinks: Thank you very much! I appreciate that.. w2w is very important for my city, at least these parts!

ky72x: Yeah, you should have told me that earlier though! 4.gif Will extend the avenue in the game.. picture will remain though hehe.. underground parking rules by the way lol

    jglei701: Simtastico says, thank you!

Mike the Mayor: Hey again Mike, simtastico - fantastico! My new slogan 2.gif I believe that the straight versions are included in the packs released by prepo, at least they are in mine! Try plop em and pm me if it doesn't work..

nihonkaranws: arigatoo! joburg-jin desu ka 4.gif thank you for stopping by my cj once more..
