What about rain?

I had a thought yesterday , maybe you all had it...at some point...

Driving home in the rain, the sky is grey, kinda dark, even if it is noon...all this in the My Sim mode...

I'd like to request weather in sim city 4 ), now, since I know that snow is kinda hard to accomplish ...so I was thinking rain, storms...the game already includes lightning!!!...

I was suprised to find, that nobody even requested it...(

I wanted to write personally to the big uploaders here at simtropolis, but just can't get thru

Simgoober, pegasus, ill tonkso, and so on, and so on, I turn to you, and ask for weather...

Ofcourse if all of you agree with me, and if it really is possible , i think everybody would appriciate it.

People have alredy requested weather. (Search the forums you will find it.) People have tried to make weather before but they have no been sussesful. There is alredy rain in the game, but it can only be used to fill depressions with water, and the water it leaves goes away when you exit the city. If ou want the rain you can download it here.

Wait a minute, there is rain in the game? In SC4 there is rain? How come I don't know of this?

And If you become a member over at gizmo's site you can download a file that produces rain clouds above it, and it rains.

I don't blame you for not knowing the under the hood workings of SC4 because most members don't, but to change the lighting you would first have to make a new lighting rig, then re-render.....

....including the maxis ones which we don't have available to us....

Even if we needed this feature so bad that we decided to try it, I think it would take years to do.  Furthermore, you'd have to swap in the rainy plugin folder every time you wanted rain, and your normal plugin folder when you didn't.

I downloaded the weather from gizmo's site...but that doesn't really do the trick...but what the hell, it's certainly better than nothing...

There was another version i was working on, but I just never finished it due to real life stuff, not sure when I'll get back to it, it had bug where it would crash the game and I never figured out what it was yet, so i never released it.
