This spam has been making the news here.  They are saying the goal is identity theft.

Last I heard, death threats were illegal in most countries.

Yea, but I don't get it--how are they going to do that when the only contact details are that they'll contact you in the evening in the front of your house? Even more so, when they targets thousands of people? It must be far easier sitting on your fat ass waiting for some idiots to come to you and say "yeah, sure you'll get 10 000 to get the fortune of that poor prince out of Africa" than getting something from these letters.

The grammer and spelling in that thing was so atrocious I nearly fell of my chair laughing. Someone so well-connected wanted me dead would at least clean up their writing, I think... Looks like a moron wrote that... (Wait, they did!)/

I do hope none of the more easily-scared people out there believed this and had cold sweat... people who do this sort of thing are such losers, they all ought to get hit by a truck and die in my opinion...

Seeing as death threats are definately illegal in just about every normal country in the world, I hope the police are doing something against this (or these) creeps...

Last time I got one like this, I just replied with the request that they send more details to me c/o FBI Computer Crimes Division. I wonder if they fell for that.

ive never had one of those b4, but i have had the ones with the foreign bank account story. it wouldnt matter if a hitman wanted 10000 from me in that way anyway, because as soon as he comes to my house.... BAM- hitman just got a hit on him
