Green Day back?

I found this article via Greenday.net, and after reading it, i believe the band named "Foxboro Hot Tubs" to be Green Day under a new disguise, similar to what they did in 2003.

What do you people think?

Any info to add to the speculation?

That would be surprising if Green Day came back together. They're American idiots (hehe) to split at the height of their success.

edit: yea, thats definetely them. I heard that song on the radio and assumed it was green day a few weeks ago. It sounds just like billie joe and the guitar is alot like their other stuff, specifically in the way that there is only one guitar playing most of the time, which is pretty rare (although greenday does it alot), most bands these days have 2-3.

Oh...I remember the days of being in 6th grade playing in the basketball courts with the 'cool' 8th graders singing American Idiot. Those were the days...

EDIT: Listened to some of their songs, doesn't sound like Green Day imo but they're pretty good.

They were better before American Idiot. Since then they have sucked.

Really, everything they did after ~2003 wasn't all that good. :\

those are the kind of people that don't understand bands like to mess with different sounds and not make 100 songs that sound just like eachother. IMO, american idiot was their best.

I think Green Day will come back (not as green day) with a new album. An old (keyword OLD) rumor was a new album by GD called Bullet in the Bible. But I doubted it.

Ace-Bullet in the Bible was a Green Day CD that was basically all videos from live concerts.

It sounds like them, more the "Mother Mary" song than the others.

Good new sound for them, if it is them. But I think they took the "go back to the old stuff" a bit too far!

And if it isn't them, then it is good publicity for the new band.

But the wikipedia on the band convinced me a bit more. Especially this part "The name "The Foxboro Hot Tubs" may be a reference to the upscale subdivision of Foxboro Heights near the city of Rodeo, California, where Billie Joe Armstrong and Mike Dirnt grew up."

They haven't split up. They're releasing a new album very soon filled with new material.

This Mother Mary song reminds me of some of the softer parts of Jesus Of Suburbia.  I like it. 

I can listen to 60's music, and like it.  I downloaded the MP3's off of the iLike application on Facebook, and listening to them again now.  I think I like the new sound, it's really vintage with that modern audio quality. 

Highway 1 is an amazing song.
