Demand Caps for SimCity 4

A couple of guys in chat asked for this, so I'm quickly putting it here so I can link to them. I don't know if its the right section or not, but it should be useful to a few people.

This is the demand caps for the ORIGINAL Sim City 4 from the Official Prima Guide Book, copied out by hand, by me, a few months ago.

A demand cap is a cap or limit on the ammount of demand - and therefore development - on certain aspects of your city. This cap or limit can be increased by building several buildings and utilities.

It's a screenshot of the original Publisher file. This forum software totally mucks up the format when I try and copy and paste, but I hope this image will suffice.

Remember, this is only for the original Sim City 4. Rush Hour adds a few more buildings here and there, and possibly a few minor corrections, but it should be pretty accurate.

The CAPS don't change for RushHour/Delus.. There may be one or two added.. if you have a specific item you want to know, ask

If I understand it correctly, the chart means that Small Flower Garden and Small Plaza are the best one-tile items?

Flower is more cost efficient, but plaza is more space efficient. Or do people count it differently?

Any custom lots, you'll have to read the doc's supplied by the creator.. WRT "which it better" you'll have to figure that for yourself.. I'm not into that kind of stuff.. 4.gif It has been debated before and gets interminable.. I'd say just do what you want perhaps using the "desirablity map" as a guide. Wrt to city connections, they are not covered as they are not "reward lots" If you'd like to post those, feel free to do so..

Put the census repository mod report in.. look at the % cap on the city.. add like 10 avenue connections and look at the decrease in the % CAP.. from that you can calculate the change and divide by 10 to get the value..
