Yes i know its on the LEX. Well i'm still trying to break the 100000 barrier so stage 9+ buildings aren't a big deal. iwas just wondering would it make the gameplay any differnt like makeing higher capicity roads and stuff? Also where is that city life jornal? I can't find it.

If you've already been at SC4D, you'll find the CAM guide there too.

bbfan: thats exactly what i was gonna blurt out! but to add just a little more, if you really just sit down and enjoy the workings of the game and figure them out. Youll find you wont need the CAM.

I was under the impression that if you like realism you WILL like it, because I thought it made the growth more realistic (considering you have a lot more stages).

I haven't tried it so it would be nice to hear from those who have if they liked it or not.

It's kinda like NAM adding a different spin to the game. But beware if your not into download extra props and I mean alot then stay away from CAM.

Also if you hate reading or just lazy then stay away from CAM.2.gif

If you're trying to break the 100k population then you don't need the CAM.
My most populus city was 400k on a med tile. And right now I have a city that is like 135k now. Personally, I wouldn't take it. Why? Because its not as realistic and you have to restart your entire region.

I don't use it, because well from what you guys are making it seem like it is just to get massive populations on one map, where in reality populations are spread over kilometers

What the CAM allows you to do is build regions based on how the world population is taking us. Just look at Hong Kong on google earth.

The CAM growth rate flows smoother than the original SC4 so I find myself not getting as frustrated.

Knowing all the little ins and outs of sim game strategy is a must wether your playing Regular SC4 or CAM.

Yes you do need to download an incredable amount of new buildings but the system is very organized and its free.

Don't try and rush to download everything. Step back and look at the project. Enjoy the large task at hand and someday you will have it.

I am taking it slow and easy with CAM so that my cities have a look of realizim to them. Its fun, this game is an art form to me.

Take your mouse and creat! But most of all don't limit yourself. Have Fun!.

If a sprawling neighbourhood is what you want to have, before getting the CBD to develop, then you need the CAM! 19.gif

This picture was posted by MightyGoose in the Show us your CAM cities thread and shows what you can achieve using only Maxis content and the CAM:

CAM1.jpg

With Rush Hour the first stage 8 R§ buildings appear when you've hit a regional residential capacity if 9,571.

When your regional residential capacity has reached the whopping 19,846, the development stops and the ratio between the 8 different stages becomes static.

With CAM the first stage 8 R§ buildings appear when you've hit a regional residential capacity of 55,575.

Your first stage 15 R§ buildings may appear when you've hit a regional residential capacity of 1,263624.

And finally, when your regional residential capacity has reached 3,085,020, the ratio between the 15 different stages becomes static.

And when your region reaches those levels, just make sure you haven't zoned high density everywhere. That way you can easily create a realistically looking CBD. 2.gif
