What movies have you seen recently?

After going on a cable movie binge the other day, I was thinking...what movies have you seen recently? Any kind, except porn (this is a pg-13 site, leave the freak flag in the closet). Share your opinions, if you're inclined.

Examples from my weekend: Next Of Kin  w/ Liam Neeson, Patrick Swayze, and Elias Koteas,

We Were Soldiers from Mel Gibson, and Sahara w/ Matthew McConaughey.

First was so-so, but love the Chicago backdrop. Second was a tad overbearing and melodramatic. Third was great stupid fun, but any longtime Clive Cussler fan can tell you MM is nooo Dirk Pitt, and Steve Zahn is less believable as Al Giordino than he would be as Margaret Thatcher.

Let no one yield, we're on the field where deeds eclipse the sun; where the brave are told on a thread of gold, the tapestry is spun. As they speak of dreams, their armor gleams, this calm before the storm... Where all can see their destiny, the bishop takes the pawn.

Don't watch movies that much... but the last movie I watched was Anchorman (for the millionth time) about a week ago... damn I love that movie, lol...

I've seen Sahara a few times, its a pretty decent movie, but the other 2 i'm not so sure about... Mel Gibson is abit of a prat, although I do like the Lethal Weapon movies. Besides, Vietnam movies are alway over dramatic...

I saw 'Departed' recently. Violent but a good movie overall. Other movies include '300' and 'Bourne Ultimatum.'

The most recent movie I seen was that new Resident Evil one. It was good, but not great.

Before that I didn't watch much movies for a while...I still haven't seen the "big" anticipated movies such as Spiderman 3, Shrek 3 and Simpsons movie, and I don't intend to. Hot Fuzz is the best movie i've seen so far.

I watched Bee Movie as well, but I didn't like it at all.  At the start it was cute, but then the whole plot seemed to fall apart and was terrible.  Overall it wasn't very unrealistic.  It obviously is aimed at the younger crowds.

You know... i've still never seen that movie.

People think i'm weird when I say that... but honestly...anything with Di Caprio in it is a no go for me because i'd end up chewing off my own fist in irritation.

Dr. No, You Only Live Twice, Erin Brockavich.

Frankly in Dr. No I like the book ending better.

I don't like him either but he was in a movie called "The Basketball Diaries" that was actually very good.  You should check it out.

Well, I hope it also exists in flat screen as I am monocular and don't have 3D vision.

Recent movies I have watched are:

Dan in Real Life

A very good movie, I thought. It was cute and funny, especially the part about Ruthy Pig-Face. I won't give too much away, but Dan is having some trouble with his kids because his wife just died and he's having a lot of trouble coping with that and his kids are starting to call him a "Murderer of Love" (one of them anyway). So he goes to a bookstore to try to clear his head, when he meets this girl, and they really hit it off, but she already has a boyfriend so it wouldn't work out. He goes home to his family (they're having some sort of family reunion in a cottage on Long Island) and it turns out the girl he met was actually his brother's girlfriend!

The Pursuit of Happyness

First of all, yes, I spelled Happyness wrong on purpose, that's a major part of the movie. This is THE best movie I have ever seen. I've seen it twice, loved it both times. The amazing and sad part is is that its based on a true story.

I have more but I don't feel like typing them all lol =)

Let's see.

I recently watched 'Borat' for the hundredth time, possibly the greatest comedy movie ever, I just can't get over that bit with Pamela Anderson. Hilarious.

Last film I went to the cinema to see was Run Fat Boy Run, it was a good film, funny but slightly predictable. Before that it was the Bourne Ultimatum, a few months ago, I was totally blown away by it, an incredible movie. Still need to see Superbad and Knocked Up...

I am also desperate to watch Last King of Scotland...

Last night caught Michael Rennie in the Day the Earth Stood Still.  Would be neat, but would world leaders learn anything at all from such a object lesson?

I took my kiddoes to see "Bee Movie" on Thursday.  It felt like an animated Jerry Seinfeld Saturday Night Live skit.  They laughed where appropriate.

The best children's movie of the year has been "Rattatouille".  It has beautiful animation and a nice story.

My son has been obsessing over a DVD, "Fly Away Home" (1996).  It's about an Ontario family that trains a family of orphaned geese to fly south for the winter.  It got an Academy Award nomination for cinematography, which was very well deserved.

Anyways, on the topic of Movies,

Also, recently, I've been watching a lot of anime films...

The last one I watched was, My Neighbor Totoro...Kinda wierd, but what anime isn't?

Goldeneye was on tv.

My second favorite bond movie between goldfinger and man with the golden gun. Really I think the bond movies that have "gold" in them are the best....maybe they could use that luck for the next one with craig in it, and it won't suck as bad 3.gif

also my friend rented Akira(anime) and we watched it recently.

It has been a while since I have read the books, but I believe Dr. No and From Russia With Love were the two most faithful of Flemming's adaptations.

With many of our leaders, it would be one of the shortest movies of all time. Gort would blow up Earth in a matter of minutes after it was deemed a weapon of mass destruction and summarily nuked several times.

I liked that movie - a lot. I thought it was a very unappreciated sleeper.

And, speaking of Luke Wilson...

I am in the process of watching You Kill Me, with the great Ben Kingsley, the beautiful Tea Leoni, and Luke Wilson. Kingsley plays an alcoholic hit man. Not a bad film (though not the greatest I have ever seen, either).

Recently got done watching Transformers and Spiderman 3 again. Both fluffy popcorn flicks - but sometimes, it is fun to turn one's mind off for a little entertainment.

Interesting, The Magistrate just bought both of those last night.  We both missed Transformers and I think she saw Spiderman w/ one of her girl friends.
