Vancouver's architectural style

So, I don't know if you guys know what Vancouver's skyline looks like, but I was wondering what type of building style you guys would recommend.  Would it be Houston or European?  Most of Vancouver's towers are green-glassed condo towers or modern-not-so-boxy glass office towers.

Thanks guys - I will post Vancouver skyline shots if need be.

I've been to Vancouver a few times, amazing skyline, I love the Asian/Western feel to the cityscape.

Vancouver has some nice architecture. Too bad Toronto owns with it's old 1960 tenants.

Thanks for the compliments guys, but what I'm really asking is what architectural style in SC4 should I use for Vancouver?

hm... Vancouver is rather hard city too match in sc4, but I think Equinox has uploaded some buildings that look something like what Vancouver has...

Here are some buildings I find to be of a similar style...

^ Thanks. Those help. But would you consider Vancouver to be more Euro or Houston style? Could you post some real life pics from the game to give me examples, as I haven't seen the difference between the two yet?

How do you get a mix of both?  Can you select a mix of both at the beginning or do you just have to plop both types?

Can I have some pics of the Euro and Houston style please?

I'd say to use a mixture of both.

What you do is use the European style for a while and then use the Houston style afterwards or vis versa. And yes, you can even plop the buildings if you don't want to wait for the other style.

Both. But if I were you, i'd search the STEX for BATs rather than just use maxis.

Vancouver is my favourite big city in the world!!! I use 'build all styles at once' and just have Houston and Euro-Contemporary selected... However, like it was said before, Maxis just doesn't have enough buildings for that. I have found that some of bixel's buildings and others from the HK BAT team resemble Vancouver-style buildings, but then again, there are tons that don't!!! A few of Ill Tonsko's buildings would also make a good fit as downtown commercial buildings, but someone looking to replicate Vancouver or at least build a city like it is gonna need TONS of Residential Highrises... Vancouver has more of those than just about any other city its size.

For some reason, I'd have to classify it as "Modern Northwest Pacific Urban". If you take a look at any of the new developments in Vancouver, Portland, and Seattle, you will find them quite similar. It probably leans closer to Euro than Houston, but they lack a certain "overly government subsidized" aura about them that would pinpoint it as Euro(although, many of them are indeed still government subsidized).

Exil3: Nothing?  Some of the taxicabs there are European models 3.gif but otherwise I think Vancouver's architecture is more of a contemporary modern design -- its mostly residential.  I really think Houston architecture is better.
