There are alot of Terraforming Geeks out there! So there should be some great options for you.

Also with Parks there should be some great options also...

I think that the parks should go under a proposal system that can help you build parks for your citizens easily and quickly... now your citizens will probably want more parks than you can afford or need so you'll have to balance it out to keep the people happy while also doing so for your finances!

Sticking with the terraforming side of things... it seems like you'll be able to choose your climate zone and go from there. For example, the Alpine picture we saw before would be one climate...

I don't mind this approach... it would be sort of like the terrain mods we have now for Sc4 but your options come packaged with the game 4.gif

Well, City Life didn't have terraforming tools or anything else in that case, from what I've been told *never played it*. So, it will be interesting to see if this game allows us to change the planet with our mighty hands. 9.gif

You got the wrong answer Micah... or almost... There is definitivelly a terraforming tool with CityLife but it's outside of the game in landscape editor. And we are improving it right now so that you can also import DEM or any grayscaled heightmap you'd like in the game coming in CityLife 2008 expansion expected in november... 16.gif

Excellent! There are many DEM issues, and I've had a DEM awful time trying to my DEM data into SC4. I had to rescale the DEM data to fit 16m per pixel as well as crop the DEM 16-bit image, and there's no easy way to crop 16 bit images without paying for Adobe PhotoShop. I could go on and on about what a DEM pain it is to get highly detailed accurate maps, but I don't want to be a DEM nuisance about it.

With parks.. Whatever MonteCristo do, don't remove the "custom" parks from City Life. Those who fills in empty spaces and that can be in any shape. Those where excellent!

just more options in customizing the way parks look and what is located within certain parks. Parks aren't always green (most of the time they are). I live here in San Francisco and Golden Gate Park is massive, miles upon miles of land, and they have gardens, a stadium, museums, an aquarium, windmill, jogging tracks, football feild, arboretum, and sooo much more... and in SC4 if I wanted to create anything similar it looks terrible and was about 100 3x3 parks side by side with a stadium and museum in the middle... not cool. Also parks can have small roads, or like Golden gate Park, maybe a massive highway that tunnels underneath?

yeah those were great! maybe more variety of "fillers" in the next game would be nice. Maybe some that terrain conform like the forest filler in City Life Deluxe

It would be nice if parks, amusement parks, airports, universities, zoos, and golf courses were customizable. Do I expect it? No, still be cool tho.

Yeah, i love building airports in SC4.

And amusement parks would be cool too. The problem with things like that is the menus, but the good people at MonteCristo seems clever enough to fix that easy 4.gif

Would it be possible to say, mark out an area to be a park, and then a window pops up or something, and you can select objects, like walks, stadiums, etc, which are functional and then you can move them around inside the area you marked out to be a park, and something similar can be done with airports?
