  1. Only way I will ever buy this game is if the have larger maps and a full offline mode.
  2. SimCity: Terraforming

Even though sim city is considered a "game", most people I am aware of who play it (well at least most people on here), don't play it for the challenge. They play it to create their own little world. The model city concept. And part of creating that own world involves changing the landscape. Maxis is well aware of the model city concept of how players play, because they mentioned it a lot in early interviews and video. Example: From the tilt shift blog "I’ve personally always thought of SimCity as a model city that you create and bring to life. It's like an elaborate model train layout, but alive and dynamic. And I'm fascinated with the fastidious, miniaturized detail of model train cities." but yet unfortunately they decided to go with the multiplayer route, which doesn't fit in with the model city concept at all, and ended up costing us players terraforming.
  3. SimCity: Terraforming

Hate to be a cynic, but another reason I can see no terraforming is EA sees a market for selling map packs DLC. If people can terraform, why would anyone be interested with a map pack? But because people will get bored with the set maps they give us a launch, some will be sure to buy up more maps.
  4. What I still can't fathom is why they decided to have the whole game revolve around multiplayer in the first place(as Quigley has said was the focus since the start). I'm assuming EA went to maxis and said "make an online sim city", but why? By the time this game started development I have to think they knew about the disaster that was CitiesXL planet offer. I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall in that room when the discussion took place about the direction they wanted to take this game. What reasons did they come up with for thinking there was any interest in an online focused city builder. I understand adding some kind of online feature to a city builder, but having it as the main focus just seems absolutely crazy to me.
  5. Yea, probably too late for them to change anything major now. I'm just hoping they acknowledge there is a problem and have plans to correct issues in an expansion.
  6. SimCity: Terraforming

What's really annoying about this is they clearly have the tools to terraform in this game (as is shown in previous videos), but they are choosing not to put these in. CitiesXL didn't really have terraforming, because for some reason it wouldn't work with the way they made maps. But, dammit, Sim City does have these tools, they just wont put them in. I just hope someone can come out with a single player mod that has terraforming.
  7. Simcity 2013: Community Interviews: Part 2

Damn I was really excited about this game. Metropolis regions and terraforming are literally two of my three most important features. Without them I don't see much reason to play this game at this point. I also don't see much hope for my 3rd most important feature, custom content. I guess I will just hold off for awhile, hope multiplayer is a dud, and Maxis comes out with a single player focused expansion which includes proper regions and terraforming.
  8. One article states there is no terraforming (http://kotaku.com/5915191/sim-city-preview), but I have to believe this is was a misunderstanding. Anyone else have information one way or another?
  9. SimCity at E3 2012

That was just awful, didn't even attempt to give a board, scripted, answer....just went and ignored the question completely.
  10. Hmm, for right now I'm going to believe this was a misunderstanding on the author's part. The only evidence we have at this point is a single sentence in one article. Terraforming is a must have in a true sim city game. The developers must know terraforming is an integral part of the fans sim city experience.
  11. First in-game SimCity 5 screenshots

They look ok, the third is by far the best. Has a nice college campus vibe. My only complaint about that one is it does look a little too clean. Definitely a lot of promise in them, not as pretty as Cities XL, but as long as the gameplay is better, who cares?
  12. Tried this on the official Sim City forum, but photos didn't work: This was a popular thread when CitiesXL was developed. Not sure how much good it did, but lets try it again. I always liked geysers in SC3000 for my national parks Desert dome at Omaha Zoo:
  13. Yes, Yes, Yes. I'm now officially sold. It has zoning, will support modding, and will have solo regions. Those were my big 3.
  14. Pre-Order

I really want a physical copy, probably the main reason I haven't preordered the "digital deluxe" yet. I still may, we will see, but would really like that physical copy.
  15. CLEP CZ3C Rocket

Awesome, but Is there any way you can come out with versions of all your rockets that don't replace the maxis one? I would love to have these all in the game at once.
