Wow! Haven't been here for a while! BIG MISTAKE, I missed not just quite a lot!

Great Airforce Base! I like these fences - where did you get them from?

I really love Anacongua with all those small Kanals from Oppie and those mansions! Especially the overview is great!!

Well, and Warnerwell is something for someone like me! Those irregular shaped farms look great!

Keep that wonderful work!

Ah man I've missed so much!  Absolutely beautiful suburbs...and how'd you get the diagonal streets?  They're so cool.  And I love Warnervale...very beautiful rural town.  The convenience stores amongst farms and spread out communities look very realistic. Keep it up!

Wow, so many great things there. Nice varying shapes with the farms, the road layout is excellent, tight little compact town with the obligatory McD's near the highway exit. Speaking of which, I like how you've designed that highway, as primarily a through-route with a single exit into town. I'll check out that hydroponic farm when I'm in town... 41.gif

Hey there,
Wow this City Journal is amazing. I'm really liking how detail you are all around. The keeps my eye open. And I hate that feeling when your eye closes and it hurts. (if you know what I mean) Wow, great work! What more can I say this is really amazing.. Now I'm just repeating my self.

Great use of the dirt road mod SA.  The farms look great and I really like the fact that you varied their size and layout.  As always, you entertain us as well.  A little comedy can go a long way.  Thanks for that....

Nando: The fences came with the abbatoir. I might even consider releasing it as a lot, using the BSC props ... but then I have to package them. Ah, it won't take long. 18.gif

DA: Uh, what castle walls? 3.gif

    Traffic_Jam: Thanks

wks2003x: Diagonal streets can be found with the latest NAM. Glad you like it.

oreon: Glad you like it... and don't get arrested!

Mex: Glad you like it. People: go on, visit SF - I might not pop in often, but it's eye candy!

jacqulina: Don't worry, the muffins won't bite. And the important thing with farms is: experiment.

    Kwakelaar: Glad you like it.

    sharkbait16: Thanks.

Darmok: Glad you like it, and if you're speechless, wouldn't you be saying anything? 3.gif Just a blank post? 3.gif

dhoppeii: Glad you like it. I try to make people smile, but not to the point where they're laughing like evil... maniacs, and drawing weird looks from people if they're browsing in a public place. 3.gif

    Allybabba: Glad you like it.

And another update will be coming soon. Just hold on.

Whew... glad I don't have to do any comments right now. 3.gif

But now that I'm leaving tomorrow, I better give an update to you guys. Maybe the length of time usually tells you how long it takes to get a city ready for your viewing pleasure.

Northcote is the last link in the chain of development from Celeron Mountain to Titticaca, so to speak. For the first time ever, there's a constant stream of development from one end of the region to the other. Northcote borders Warnervale to the west, Titticaca to the east. It's the urban fringe, as well. Follow the Almighty Dot as it makes its journey across the map.

    Northcote001.jpg
An overview, sorry it's not at zoom 2. 3.gif

    Northcote002.jpg
Thats' the main area of Northcote, with the hill to the north of Northcote.

    Northcote003.jpg
Northcote Town Centre. Lots of shops, and a railway station.

    Northcote004.jpg
Northcote Golf Course. It has been split up into two sections, due to space constraints.

    Northcote005.jpg
The urban fringe begins here... A stream of development backing onto pristine (well, mostly) forest, the Woodcroft Drive area is highly sought after. Only just recently, this used to be one of the poorest areas, until it underwent urban renewal and gentrification.

    Northcote006.jpg
    Northcote007.jpg
    More suburban goodness.

    Northcote008.jpg
Northcote's very own Sheraton. Rooms here can be as little as $50 a night. But it depends. However, most rooms have views of the golf course next door. Too bad the bills are about 10% more expensive, on account of golf balls.

    Northcote009.jpg
Northcote High. One of the more well-known public high schools in Dynasty, good quality education is provided here.

    Northcote010.jpg
The obligatory farm images. As you can see, there's some of Elanor Drive Estate in the image (it surrounds the Home Maker Centre). We'll pay a visit there.

    Northcote011.jpg
Elanor Drive. Some of the houses here are highly sought after. It is the newest attack of the urban fringe on the farms. As you can see, most surrounding farms aren't doing that well.

    Northcote012.jpg
Northcote Homemaker Centre. Lots of stuff, particularly cheap furniture and bulk office supplies can be found here, along with the ubiquitous but very gaudy McDonalds.

    Northcote013.jpg
#RANDOM# Toothpick Manufacturing & Distribution Co use those trees behind to manufacture toothpicks. The unusuality about those trees is that they're of the Insta-Grow variety, and basically last a long time indeed.

    Northcote014.jpg
#RANDOM# The cow farm there has been warned several times not to leave the fence open. Funnily enough, Cows on Rail is also the name of a very popular play in Dynasty.

And that's the end of the update: Northcote. Now, I must go and catch a plane. 9.gif

Nice update SA! It seems you like the ingame solar power planst ...
I like that easy suburban sprawl with all this green inbetween! And your school looks really good!

About the farms: Never build farms close to streets - some traffic on streets can be too much for them. Use some park lost for making a distance between farm and road. Perfect are for example suicos farm fences, PEG'S seasonal woods or the new CSX seasonal woods. The ladder are perfect to make of trees next to roads!

    Anyway: great update!

    S_A

    Another good one!

I really liked the golf course, I personally played on at least two courses splitted up by roads and one by a railway! So no problem there!

I like the diagonal marrast station!
The way you placed those roundabouts near the highway exits, great!

One problem, I wouldn't want to live in the houses near the solar power plants! the glare must be muder! 18.gif
What is that big plain in the golf course near the roundabout! a driving range?

The suburbs, I like those mansions that stands at an angle on their lots!

Fooooore! That's what they hear at the Sheraton, just before the sound of windows crashing!

    Northcote High! Beautifull setup!

Those big farm fields are really well done.

And The Toothpick manufacture, I mean, really...nowadays any serious Toothpich is made of california redwood! 17.gif

Cows on rail, I saw that play! at the end, the udder night everybody was asking for mooooore! (I know I know another bad joke!)18.gif

Anyhow liked it a lot S_A

    Keep it up!

    aleking: Thanks!

Nardo: I knew that.... but it would be great for stimulating farm areas that are declining due to development.

    dhoppeii: Thanks!

Darmok: Bit long-winded, but thanks for the long comment! 3.gif

    Traffic_Jam: Thanks!

    jacqulina: Glad you like it!

sharkbait16: Huge, eh? That's pretty much common around here. 3.gif

    Oh, and before I forget:
    ATTN: ALL READERS
The company in charge of the construction of Blackdelve Fields International Airport is holding a competition both here at SCC and ST to design the airport's logo. The logo needs only to be a rough one, as it will be refined and polished, but a nice and shined one will do as well.

The rules: You have a week to do it [18 October's the deadline]. The winning logo will be chosen by me, I will be as unbiased as possible. The winning logo will be shown on the update, and as a BAT at the front of the airport.

    Have fun designing!

    So, here goes...

I can change colours etc if you would like me to

sloppet: haha, thanks for commenting. So it's a little tradition of yours to welcome in the new page? 3.gif

    chocolatemax285: Glad you like it!

freedo50: That's a great logo, though I'm not entirely sure about the font. Maybe a more... contemporary font? But everything else is perfect.

Anyways, this is not-an-update, but a little look into Blackdelve Fields International Airport's massive construction site. All runways are 102 tiles long (just under 2km long). It is expected that the airport will service up to 2 million people (Dynasty's population WILL double with the building of Blackdelve Fields).

But without much ado, I present a teaser of the plans I have for the airport.
    BFIATHUMB.jpg
    Click to make bigger

Progress has been going slowly due to money issues. However, once Terminal 1 is completed, along with Runway 4, the money should start pouring in as quickly as the concrete.

The Freight Handling area is expected to be filled in by the end of the month.

Oh, and some small credit to blahdy for inspiring me with his excellent job on PAX and Walnut Creek.
