Well, I've been working on Dynasty for the last four or five months... and here we have Dynasty, my region. This will start from the Bay of Deception (which is the second city in Dynasty), and over the next three weeks, I will get you guys up to date with my region. All updates have been copied straight from SCC (which is about six months ahead of you guys in updates, due to the large delay. I'm starting here from the beginning.)

I will tell you the date on top of the update, when it was first posted on SCC.

Well, that was a pretty lengthy introduction (for me, anyway), and shall we get into it?
Posted on SCC: Wednesday December 15, 2004

Welcome to the Bay of Deception. It's obvious that it's not what it seems in the region view.

bayofdeception0037uq.jpg
Let's start in the centre (obviously, it's the town centre!). Here is the beating heart of the BoD...if there is one... It's quiet, too, but the Memorial Drive runs through the city centre, via 2501.

bayofdeception0023tg.jpg
The only transit hub in the region at the moment, it provides a way for people to go south via B1. Obviously, the Memorial Drive runs close by.

bayofdeception0016oe.jpg
The rail hub down south is owned by SouthRail, who basically controls all freight along the Dynasty coast. The headquarters are at the terminus. Many tons of freight get shifted along here each day.

bayofdeception0048ae.jpg
The suburb of First Landing. The first ever suburb since the exploration parties moved south of Sioban. Perfect for a new subdivision. It is sought after by the average family.

bayofdeception0051mv.jpg
The River Du...whatever Bridge and the WTCT (Wireless Telecommunications Tower) is located here. This tower is the destination of all communications from the far off Sargas IV.

bayofdeception0061hh.jpg
Deceptive Oranges. Upon close inspection, they're not oranges, but in fact are lemons painted an orange colour.

bayofdeception0072lt.jpg
Fulton's Farm provides all the corn needed to feed the people in the BoD area. Sioban already provides their own, but they won't give any. Wonder why?

bayofdeception0086lu.jpg
Mom's Farm - the base for an evil empire that will soon cover all of Dynasty and sell various objects that have no purpose except to annoy and frustrate.

bayofdeception0091fn.jpg
Tenzel Corner. Where all the religious fanatics live because it's close to the only church with decent facilities.
9.gif

bayofdeception0100mb.jpg
Lakeside Acres, where just about everybody lives within a stone's bounce of some water.

bayofdeception0111cl.jpg
Serenity - a tiny suburb, which ironically is located right next door to a very noisy industrial park.

bayofdeception0129vw.jpg
The infamous Hole in the Ground. Apparently, a shopping centre was to go here, but they missed. So it's just empty space now. Hell, the parking lot's already been put in!

bayofdeception0159qy.jpg
Deception Point Industrial Park. The only means to get freight out is by rail or road, as the water is too shallow to put a seaport. Excavation is possible, but where would the 250,000 tonnes of sand go?

Enjoy.

Great stuff Shadow! I like this a lot!

Nice work with city centre and the Marrast bus stop, I'll try that myself!

The rail hub, does it work with the freight station at the end of the rail?

First Landing, nice and green!

Really like the diagonal farming. Well, I like alot in this cj!

Excellent start S_A

That firs Pic is super! 44.gif

Favorite pic Lakeside acres (I just love water!)3.gif

And I like the contradiction in the name versus location of Serenity, so true to life that most of residential areas named with sophisticated names are often placed in the worst locations! 2.gif

So best of luck with Dynasty, I'll tag along for the ride!

Take care!

To All: Thanks for commenting! The next update's coming, I am just putting them together. This one comes in two parts - two photos I forgot to include with the last one, and White Ridge.

It's rather time-consuming to convert these images to an useable format by ST, since I need to type the code by hand. But here's the first part. Will post part 2 in about 2 hours, after re-editing the images.

    FOR SALE!

Hey SA, I checked out bits of your journal over on SCC, and I'm quite impressed. A nicely developed, well-planned region, along with some really graphics in your posts. I'm looking forward to nothing short of a well-presented journal here as well. 9.gif

Well, White Ridge got destroyed, so here we are, part 2. Enjoy.

    1. The overview of White Ridge. There is unfortunately an error in the picture. That lake is in fact Lake Terranca.
    whiteridge0037ok.jpg

    2. Nothing too interesting here. This would be a part of Second Ponds Creek Estate, I think.
    whiteridge0017pv.jpg

    3. The University District, with the two cemetries, and student housing. It also has WRUR 99.6 (White Ridge University Radio).
    whiteridge0027dz.jpg

    4. Second Ponds Creek Estate. A nice little area where everybody loves to live.
    whiteridge0049vq.jpg

    5. Canalia Commercial District. For those of you who checked my Noo, my R$$ is Abandoning me thread, you'll notice that everything's all all right. (You never saw those NRZs 3.gif)
    whiteridge0053il.jpg

    6. whiteridge0069mn.jpg
    Self-explanatory.

    7. WR's Lower Commercial District. You'll notice that it's split into three tiers - for the reason of having more flat land.
    whiteridge0072pg.jpg

    8. Maianbar, and Bodegas Ysios Winery. This is quite literally on the edge of town - Sioban is only a mile or two away.
    whiteridge0081dn.jpg

    9. Checkerboard - a weird name, and yes, it looks odd all by itself out there. Don't worry, I'll develop some more.
    whiteridge0103fj.jpg

    10. Lake Terranca, you saw this in the preview. Nothing's changed, except for some buildings.
    whiteridge0112ek.jpg

    11. Lake Terranca East. Self explanatory.
    whiteridge0127pg.jpg

    12. White Ridge/Mulholland. Again, self explanatory.
    whiteridge0133hz.jpg

    13. White Ridge, and it's famous HollyWood style sign.

It can be found somewhere on the STEX, search for tower, and you'll find it. Though, the lot for it is of my own design.

    superstar: Thanks.

Sattigarius. You'll also find Korora's main source of power here. (natural gas) And also, there are extensive sporting fields here.

    korora0033la.jpg
Aqua Stadia, Merriott and Embassy Suites. Aqua Stadia is the only stadium recognised as a proper venue for the SimNation championships so far.

    korora0040vd.jpg
Lakeside. Not much to say. Except there's a nice little lake.

    korora0054xs.jpg
Korora Town Centre. Much of it is pedestrian-access only.

    korora0060jx.jpg
Repellente. Not much to say, but this is the most densely populated area of Korora.

    korora0075qf.jpg
Tempest and Beutelgeuse. Another typical housing development.

    korora0087wk.jpg
City Hall/University District. Two lakes here as well.

    korora0098wx.jpg
Korora Industrial Park East. Not much to say.

    korora0102vm.jpg
Clifftop Gardens. A pain in the ass to manually terraform.

    korora0115ro.jpg
Dead Man's Crossing, and the nearby cemetries.

    korora0125sv.jpg
Verde Hills North. Uber-exclusive, this area.

    korora0131ez.jpg
Verde Hills South. The houses have a real nice view of the prison, which is rather catchingly called Escapee's Paradise.

    korora0147go.jpg
Andromeda, and the Sean Waters National Forest up there.

    korora0156an.jpg
Seanoria. Not much to say, but named after Waterz, and is one of the richest areas in Korora. Has its own golf course.

    korora0168lc.jpg
    Korora Industrial Park West.

    korora0175pp.jpg
Lastly, but not leastly: Clifftop Gardens West. Also a big pain in the ass to terraform.

So sorry I'm not much for stories, but enjoy anyway.

    Thanks, Jacqualina.

*sigh* Is there any point in continuing, if just about no-one replies?

    Ah well, I'll post this.
    highwind0024jz.jpg
    highwind0012di.jpg
    An overview.
    HIGHWIND
    1. Panania
    2. University District
    3. Movie District
    4. Semptron Hill
    5. Highwind Mall
    6A. Severin East
    6B. Severin West
    7. Trotskygard (Little Russia)
    8. Highwind Ridge
    9. Rowhome District
    10. Highwind Commons - PARLIAMENT
    11. Krysburg
    12. Templar Park
    13. Burclaff's Forest
    14. Highwind National Forest

    highwind0035di.jpg
Rowhome District. One of the oldest areas of the Municipiality of Highwind. Highwind Keep, a hugely successful tourist/revolving restaurant venture, can be found sitting on the ridge.

    highwind0042mq.jpg
Panania. The newest district of Highwind, Panania sits right by the Skylink, but due to some error in the planning, the suburb did not get a station. The main purpose of the Skylink is high-speed travel between Genais International and Celeron Mountain. It is proving relatively successful, however, at first, it was losing large amounts of money.

    highwind0058dr.jpg
Self explanatory. Now, the Integra Movie Studios are located in this area, and are a magnet for fans and stalkers alike. All them stars stay in the Twin Merriott, a 5-star hotel, happened to be built for that purpose. If they had a home in Dynasty, it would actually be in Xiphos.

    highwind0066lh.jpg
The entire hill shown here. Up north, is the Highwind CBD, which is mostly made up of high wealth services. This is just so you can reorient yourself. The Sempron Freeway (2520) runs on the left, down towards Genais.

    highwind0077da.jpg
Severin. Just your average suburban subdivision. Severin is split into two parts, due to Trotskygard splitting it into two. Call it either poor planning or just human error. Wait, they're basically the same. Scratch that.

    highwind0084ye.jpg
Highwind Ridge. This is where all those people who miss the beauty of San Francisco would live.

    highwind0097ch.jpg
Trotskygard. Called Little Russia by the locals, since most of the buildings look pretty much ugly, and look like they were moulded from concrete. Functional, and low rent.

    highwind0103qu.jpg
Templar Park is the only other section of high rise in the city itself. It is medium-wealth, and is grouped around a central common area for people to enjoy.

    highwind0116nd.jpg
Highwind Arcade. You can find Myer, Big W and Coles here. Over 250 speciality stores to choose from. Plenty of parking spots available. This is Dynasty's only major shopping mall that is outside a commercial area.

    highwind0127bc.jpg
Highwind Commons. The Parliament and the seat of government for Dynasty. Let me explain the main politicial parties.

The main party in power is the Dynasty National Party, which believes in providing as much money for the economy to keep going, and also believes in providing comfortable living conditions. Hence, the huge majority of the region has little to no low class residents. The DNS is actually made up of two smaller parties - the National Party and the Liberals.

The other major party is Dynasty Labour Party, or the Opposition. The main aim of the Opposition is to provide equal wages for all workers, and fair living conditions. During the short time the party was in power, Little Russia was built.
