Downtown Douglas and it's tree lined shores. The city of Douglas was named for the Douglas Fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii), which is one of the most prominent trees in the area. Others include the Bigleaf Maple (Acer macrophyllum), Oregon White Oak (Quercus garryana), and the Western Red Cedar (Thuja plicata)

One of the more heavily developed commercial districts of downtown Douglas. Also notice the coastal commuter train line, which runs through here.

This Junction connects the coastal and interior train lines. I'll be posting a map of the lines in an upcoming update.

The Douglas Central station is the main transit hub for the city with thousands of passengers getting out of their cars and boarding trains or busses here.

The Stadium District has always been a fan favorite! Major League Baseball's Douglas Eagles play here at Boeing Field. (Extra points for anyone who gets that reference)

Sim_Air: Thanks for the kind words! I've gotten tons of inspiration from the many CJs here on Simtropolis so I decided I would go ahead and add a little of my own work to the mix!

DarkEldar: I'm glad you like my CJ style. I experimented with a few things before I settled on this one. I'm hoping everything will continue to evolve as I do more updates.

ky72x: I'll be doing more updates on my downtown soon, specifically on some of the districts I didn't show in my screenshots. It's great to hear that you liked the way I layed out things! I'm sort of a perfectionist when it comes to my city layouts. I must have placed and replaced some of the sections of grid about 30 times to get it right!

Foolio: Thanks! I definitely do try my best to keep things well blended. I've demolished a lot of tall skyscrapers because they were too big for the area they were built in.

tomdapom: That's fantastic! I do like most of the original maxis buildings, though you'll find that a lot of things in my city are custom content, though not to the extent that some people utilize them. And may I just say to the BATers, Lotters, and Modders: Thank you! You guys and gals make this game sooo much fun for us all! I just love logging onto Simtropolis to see what people have created!

An overview of the neighborhood with Interstate 20 at the top

Large condominiums are clustered at the center of this posh neighborhood with lots of great houses on the outskirts.

St. Matthews Church has long been a fixture in Seaview as has the country club next door. Reverend Brown takes pride in knowing that his grass is just a little bit greener than the stuff at the country club.

Voulpiotis: Thanks, I've always liked putting heavy rail into my cities. It just seems to give it more realism, not to mention it is great for mass transit if done correctly.

Nice job on Seaview! The sports complex and the golf course look great next to each other. Also I like how the interstate weaves around all the development, it's very realistic. Keep up the excellent work!

patriots_1228: Thanks for the comments and suggestions. I think you'll see more BATs making their way into the city as the CJ develops. I've got lots of BATs in my plugin folder, they're just itching for a spot in my city.

College Students spend a lot of money. As such, a sizeable commercial service district has developed next door.

 

The historic St. Mark's Church has been an important part of the community for nearly a hundred years.
