haljackey - Thank you very much! - I was aiming for the collector / distributor approach in more dense areas and it seems to blend in very well...

kj3400 - Almost.. ..The only problem with Lantia Pkwy now is many parts lack shoulder room in the main carriageway... ..and also there's no center divider for a highway so close.. otherwise it would need to be a minimum of a 1 tile median in dense areas and 2 in rural... ...Also Interstates will have smoother curves... Lantia Pkwy has exits like a freeway but curves like a parkway would..

    jacqulina - Thanks!

lilmanjs - Thanks... and me neither 3.gif - it's going to be one heck of a feat.

wir3d - About a week... some sleep... sketches and planning...

Benedict - Thanks... and it came pretty close - and the worse has still yet to come...

I know it's been quite a while, but I have good excuses. No, seriously, I can explain 4.gif

I was elected to be chair of communications and publicity for the Wesley Foundation (united methodist campus ministry) at William and Mary. It's a time-consuming position normally, but I've also been working on redoing their website. I've also spent quite a bit of time doing volunteer work in Mississippi, rebuilding real houses.

And then there's all the normal college stuff.

Okay, now that I've been forgiven (hopefully), I want to say that I've read through the posts that I missed, and I continue to be most impressed by this CJ. Of course, the MVP is N4C, but a lot of other people have helped to make Blue Hope really spectacular. I feel bad that I abandonned my post.

I think I'll have more time now, so consider me back on board.

iamihop11 - Welcome back, and congratulations on that position. Not something just anyone can fill so you sound like you're doing good. Things have been going rather slow on my end aswell though - but yes we're still on a roll and I don't intend on stopping anytime soon - currently we're going through an upgrade to all MIS interchanges, then I have to update the website parcels and then we'll be back on track - the MIS interchanges are alittle fustrating and time consuming and not everything is so easily converted... Currently I'm working on the interchange between the 202 Tollway and the E/W Connector - this is a TOTAL pain but must be accomplished aswell... ..we'll see how it turns out... ...welcome back aboard... ...Almighty Nienbar wants to know if you can assist him with paying is tower off...

Zarp - Actually now I only have to go to school for 2 days of the week, once for an entire day and the other for 1/4th of a day but whats making it difficult is the ENORMOUS amounts of homework and rediculous deadlines I have to deal with... not to mention keeping things intact with the CJ aswell as real life ... combine that and even I wonder sometimes how I'm able to keep this going but when you like something enough you'll find a way...

    Loving the MIS upgrades! 4.gif

Your signs are all modeled out, just not gotten in to the game.  But for now, I'm ready for whatever else you have...I think doing it by parcel would be a great idea, you always have those things (great ideas) don't you?2.gif

Yoshiisland - Yeah I'll get them to you asap - there might be a different sign post for Lantia however...

lilmanjs - for the time being it appears you are, I'll probably *bend* the rules a bit and make one anyway in the future after the MIS upgrades.. .. - And yes both 202, and the E/W Connector will be updated upon the completion of the MIS impliments which is going slowly but surely... ...Just completed the 202 Interchange - that one was HARD, had to relocated the whole highway.

Well, it's good to have variety.  Also I have good news, I have finally mastered the art of MML's...you can expect to see an updated version of the older signs within the coming weeks.  You said those have to be resigned right?  If that's so I'll probably integrate them into the new standard of highway signs with lights...

No kidding?  I just had to shift an entire cloverleaf interchange with the MIS after I put it in the wrong place...shows how smart I am at making highways. 3.gif

Yoshiisland - Wait before you convert the older signs because Im going to have to request new ones and replace some signs as certain exits have been changed due to MIS.

As for shifting an entire cloverleaf, I had to do this several times - MIS takes up alot of space and isn't very friendly with existing development. I literally had to draw out and plan the Lantia Pkwy/Tuckaway Highway Interchange before implimenting it. The MIS as we use it technically really isn't even close to finished. I believe they were just rushed to release it so we wouldn't consider it a dead project.

No, I think they thought that since we loved it's teasers so much, it was stable enough for release, and it was the new year they might as well. Things like elevated MIS/RHW are in development right now, but have been kind of put on the back burner for the TLA (Turning Lane Avenue) project.

But okay I'll wait to convert the older signs. 2.gif If you want I could upload the MMLs for the older ones or send them to you personally to keep your menus unclogged. 4.gif

I appoligze for the extremely long delays. I recently hurt and pulled a muscle in my lower back causing me so much pain I couldn't even walk. Had to be hospitalized. I feel - slightly better but still in alot of pain. Im going to go ahead and post my sign request for Yoshiisland

Yoshi be prepared - this sign request is for Parcel 3's Highway 4 EASTBOUND portion only. Im still compiling the WESTBOUND portion. I wanted to give you a head start. But first remember to pay very close attention to detail because things are going to get alittle tricky here.

First I'll need to introduce you into something called "placement" styles - These will determine just where the sign will plop after the tile has been plopped.

    Here's an image...

    PlacementStyles.jpg

The Red Dot explains where the sign will form after plopping the tile.

Style 1 - Shows that the sign will plop next to the roadway that the tile borders...

Style 2 - Shows that the sign will plop at the end of the next tile from the ploppable tile. Try to make Style 2 fit both of these occurances...

Style 3 - Shows that the sign will plop  a half a tile away from the ploppable tile

Style 4 - Shows that the sign will plop two tiles away from the border.

Basically just use that image to corrolate between the styles

Name the signs by their image filename and pack into a Menu Management Lot...

Also parts of Lantia will be using a different sign post than the standard, let me post it and show you..

    signmount.jpg

The Red Beams don't need to be drawn, it is just there to show you where and how the signs will be placed...

The 6 black squares that run just below the red beams are the night lamps and its support should angle it just SLIGHTLY infront of the sign board.

We're going to begin with the STANDARD Sign Post...

These use the Standard Sign Mounts you just made...

Click on the link, then save the images for their filenames... they all exceed 800x600 so you'll need to CLICK THE LINK and then save or you'll end up with a very distorted image...

Dude, nice job!! Trust me, I know a lot about freeways because I lived next to a 20-lane freeway for 11 years, so I know a lot about them. Well, I have to say that the new guide signs look futuristic. So cool, you should put it on the STEX. But if you have any questions about the freeways PM me. P.S., that 20-lane freeway has a 4-lane HOV-2 Road (High Ocopuntcy Vehicle 2 or more people in vehicle lane only. a.k.a. carpool lane).

lol...I'm the one making the signs and they WILL be put on the STEX.  So anyways N4C, sorry about that back thing, I kinda know how you feel right now; I'm sick at the moment, and my head isn't in the place to be configruing perfect splines at my present state but don't worrry, I'll get them at least started-off pretty good during the spring break. I think I'm not too sick to have the other ones rendered in the mean time though...2.gif

also, you showed 2 style twos; are both pictures simulating a sign that floats over one tile and overhangs to the left?

    nihonkaranws - thanks!

Mr. Monorail Man - Cool, I've done alot of road trips so I've seen alot of freeways, both interstate and non-interstate. We also have HOV" lanes in Atlanta. I actually rarely use them, unless Im cutting across town because it's such a hassle to cut 8 lanes of traffic to access that lane unless Im going to be in it for awhile. They also really don't save you that much time in Atlanta as they're still very prone to accidents and backups... Hear about the Bus leaping off the overpass on I-75? That happened very close to where I currently live. Atlanta needs to make a seperate expressway for their HOV Lanes to make them effective because you can't pass while you're in them and today, when traffic backs up... the HOV lanes backup aswell...

Benedict - ty.. btw as apart of the Tollway/ EW Connector Interchange... I was forced to relocate portions of your rail but I went ahead and made them larger since those portions were already overcrowded.

Yoshiisland - If you post them on STEX, make SURE you tell everyone how the different styles works because alot of people will be completely confused when they plop a Style 4 sign next to the freeway to see it plop somewere in the middle of the woods...  ...that or you might want to make two versions, one with and one without styles... As for your question... ... Style 2 means that the sign will plop at the VERY end of the next tile from the orginal plopping point and will overhang over the tile that borders the tile that the SIGN ITSELF (not the plop point) appears from.

    Shingure - Okay.

    dfnva - Thanks!

AceofSpades - It does trust me. When it first happened I couldn't move my lower body at all. Now I can sort of move around again but I can't drive. I had to get a ride to school..

kj3400 - Thanks and no... The Gantries only go over the side of the highway that the signs service.

Yoshiisland - Just to clarify something for the styles.. All signs will overhang to the left from their plop point.

Minor Update - I will perform some pending requests after the Westbound Sign Requests for Parcel 3 - This project is going to be alot longer than I anticipated... ...Thisis just to keep things from piling up...

OK, here's what I ment by the 20-lane freeway, on I-64 in Norfolk/VA Beach there are 8-lanes on each side, then the divided 4-lane HOV-Lane. So, you get on it on the I-64/I-264 interchange in VA Beach, and ride the 4-lane HOV road 15 miles to the I-64/I-564 interchange in Norfolk near the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel. And halfway there, there is an HOV on/off rampfor traffic heading to the Norfolk International Airport to help airport and Navy base traffic because I-564 leads straight into Naval Station Norfolk (one of the east coast's largest navy bases in the U.S.). So think of an avenue between an RHW-3 lane. So I can't wait for the update.

I really love the signs. also could I get a little report on where the trash problem is the worst and where is isn't? I'm planning on putting recycling centers in areas where the trash problem is horrible.
