MPTC - Thanks for the link!

    jacqulina - Thank you!

Houston_Fan - I understand what you're talking about... Unfortunately that avenue won't beable to proceed much further north than A2 because after A2, Those mountains become REALLY steep... I do however have a different proposal that will take an expressway into the Mountains north of that area... Also I have a closer image for your development request...

Yoshiisland - Fantastic! Can I get a link to download them? ... I'll get the Westbound side to you be tonight or tomorrow... I was heavily bombarded by this update, I didn't even get a chance to work on the website but it's fine...

KingTitan - Thank you!... The 32 beside your name is your points... you get 1 point per post... and other things aswell... Basically meaning, if you wanted to start a development, you have 32 points to pool with...

suplado! - I'm quite positive that more will be coming soon...

Alright we have ALOT to cover this update!

    _______________________________________________

    A few Announcements...

Benedict, I have not heard your request on whether or not you agreed to allow Iamihop11 relocate the South Shore Railline; thus, by default I relocated it... I have granted you an additional 50 Points for bypassing your consent...

Iamihop11, during the construction of the East/West Connector's parralell ramps, I accidently destroyed one of your shops... I'll award you 50 Points...

    ________________________________________________

Before I satisfy everyone's requests, I want to announce the completetion of the A2-202 Tollway cooridoor... Because of the numerous amount of inquiries I got around the area, I broke ALOT of rules.. I just went and completed the highway rather than simulating time... First, lets get a few requests out of the way...

WillG has been waiting for god knows how long to see the area around Exit 6 so I'll put that up first...

    WillG.jpg

Map out a development and we'll go from there, be warned that because of the slope, things might not want to connect so easily onto the main road so be prepared for modifications...

Lilmanj's desired to see his industrial district so thats next!

    TuckawayIndustrial.jpg

As we can tell, the Industrial District isn't developing very quickly, we can tell why by looking at the RCI... I'd suggest sticking with Homes and Commerce for the moment...

Iamihop11 had a request regarding his water tower park... thats up next...

    WaterTowerPark.jpg

Thanks to Tuckaway Transportation (and Benedict who managed to sleep through the entire project) The South Shore Line has been relocated, it now runs under ground all the way into Eaton...

    WaterTowerPark2.jpg

..Beginning it's tunnle here, just after the junction with the Oconee Express where it proceeds under Highway 35 (eliminating the railroad crossing)...

    WaterTowerPark3.jpg

...and surfacing here, on the eastern bay of the Oconee where the old railbridge was completely replaced by an underwater Tunnle...

Plan out your development with that picture I gave you above and we'll go from there..

Houston Fan desired to see the area around Exit 7 of A2... and now that the highway is complete then it's best to show him now...

    Houstonfan.jpg

Without grids, as we can see the area didn't change too much...

    HoustonFan2.jpg

With Grids to aid you in your planning...

    HoustonFan3.jpg

Zoomed in view to aid us both in your development...

    HoustonFan4.jpg

The Exit 7 Interchange, I left area open on the ridge for development for both you and Willg... Of course, you cannot develope on cliffs though.

and Also Houston Fan....here is a Proposal, or atleast a better route into the Northern Mountains...

    Proposal.jpg

The proposal will carry Highway 2 as an expressway and spawn another Tollway to proceed NorthWest into the mountains, the incline here isn't as steep as it is near Exit 7 and most of the land near Exit 7 is unsuitable for heavy development anyway...  My idea would be to call this Tollway 502 as it represents a spur...

    And now... onto our update...

    _______________________________________________

First lets have a look around at our users developments...

    Linaton.jpg

With the completion of the New Tollway and the upgrades on Highway 2, Linaton feels closer to town as its development is showing that residents are no longer shy about moving further from town...

    TalliupCorner.jpg

Conviniently located inside the new perimeter, right off the expressway, Talliup Corner's development is showing impressive results. The area gives a strong urban feel on the island with the presence of so many intersections and heavy traffic...

    TalliupCorner2.jpg

    Higher View...

Now.... lets have a look at the new tollway...

    202Tollway.jpg

As we can see, The 202 Tollway begins at Atlantic Drive with an At-Grade Intersection, proceeding north into a cloverleaf style interchange with The East/West Connector. The East West Connector uses this opportunity to form collector / distributor roads as it prepares itself to become 3 lanes concrete barrier divided Sunken Highway with center mounted street lamps. It remains this way until the New Exit 9. Highway 2 was rebiult and relocated as an avenue that travels a decent distance towards downtown. plans to upgrade are underway. The South Shore Line was biult into a tunnle to go under The East/West Connector, and then under the 202/A2 Tollway... This area was by far the hardest to complete as much of the development here, simply was erased dropping the population by about 10,000 people throughout the entire REGION! Officials are contacting investors to promote relocation and rebiulding projects which will promote much denser biuldings around the Expressway corridoors...

    202Tollway2.jpg

202 continues Northeast into Highway 6 and then into Highway 35 where it connects into its first alaignment... This section blasted portions of the Wachita Mountain Range into stable cliffs. Old Highway 35 was reconstructed into safer grades during the project at the cost of the city seeing this as the perfect opportunity...

    202Tollway3.jpg

The new portion new continues from Exit 6 at FBC Drive into Exit 7, North Eaton Highway... and proceeds further east until...

    202Tollway4.jpg

It meets its maker for its final time, terminating at Highway 2 in a trumpet style interchange, causing Highway 2 to upgrade into a Divided Highway. Notice how A2's Westbound Entrance from Highway 2 has a LEFT hand merge?

    202Tollway6.jpg

    Closer view

    202Tollway8.jpg

Between Highway 6 and Highway 35

    202Tollway9.jpg

The new Highway 6 Interchange with 202...

    202Tollway10.jpg

New overpass between Highway 2 and Highway 6...

    202Tollway11.jpg

    Highway 2 Crossing 202...

    202Tollway12.jpg

The East/West Connector crossing Highway 202...  It is here that the East/West Connector Submerges into a Sunken Highway... This interchange is unique because Exit 6 used to be an At-Grade Intersection with The East/West Connector... Today it stands as the largest and most complex interchange on the East/West Connector, bringing it nearly to full limited access standards...

    202Tollway13.jpg

202 Tollway ends here with an At-Grade Intersection with Atlantic Dr,  the intersection is traffic light controlled...

    202Tollway14.jpg

The East West Connector gets low...

    202Tollway16.jpg

The new Exit 8 which proceeds north into Park Place Industrial, courtesy of Tuckaway Transportation...

    202Tollway17.jpg

The New Exit 9 ... where Talliup Corner is located... it is here where The East/West Connector returns to standard grade...

    202Tollway18.jpg

Overview... I have eliminated unecessary rails to make room for development in the area...

    202Tollway19.jpg

The new portion of Tollway at night...

    202Tollway20.jpg

    Proceeding Northeast

    202Tollway23.jpg

Between Exit 7 and the Terminus of the Tollway...

    202Tollway24.jpg

    The terminus at night...

And thats the 202/A2 Tollway completed! What do you think Tuckaway Transportation?

And thats all for now investors of Newark...

Sorry to keep you so late... j/k 2.gif

Oh yes and a couple of other announcements!

The development grant will cover 40 Points for any residential development that exceeds 15 tiles, Light or Medium Density, and 40 Points for any commercial development that exceeds 15 tiles, Light or Medium Density... meaning you can make 80 points just by developing... It MUST be near either the 202/A2 Expressway or The East/West Connector however to recieve the Grant, there's no other requirements...

And Yoshiisland, can I get the link to the roadtop mass transportation you wanted me to use? and did you have anywere in mind you wanted me to plop the FBC Biuldings for the busses??

I would say, go on and plan one anyway because the grants are so large, you might not need any points... Inf act with 80 Point grants, I wouldn't be surprised if you actually RECEIVED points just for building...

One thing I myself don't agree with about the A2 tollway is the interchange with highway 2 at the eastern terminus.  When the freeway standards are extended eastward, eastbound traffic should not need to slow down through loop ramps.  The eastbound 2-to-westbound A2 ramp should be the one that is a loop, or it should not exist at all, in my opinion.

This is the version of the Roadtop Mass Transit I'd like to see you use.  As for the FBC Bus Lots, I'm not too picky about where you put them, you can put them wherever you see fit (unless a Tuckaway Transport partner has anything to say?).  Also, did you notice I gave you a link to my completed highway signs?  It's at the top of page between your last two updates.  The tollway's looking good!

willg - Well I can say for certainty that the railline will be completely impossible... It doesn't matter though as that's not a passenger rail anyway... I will biuld and quote you for what I can create though, how is that?

Houston_Fan - I'll change it within the next few updates... There will probably be no entrance to Westbound A2... Eastbound Hwy 2 will continue with unnumbered exits and possably a few at grade intersections for now, until Hwy 2 is upgraded into full freeway standards all the way to downtown, if something like that should become necessary... Otherwise, numbering Hwy 2's exits with the bypass's exits could be confusing... As at first the bypass begins outside of downtown and performs a loop around the city and the highway then the highway leaves town on an all new alaignment, but with the exit numbers from an old alaignment, if you get my drift...

Yoshiisland - Awsome, I've downloaded it, if you want to reconfigure the bus stop alaignment then now's a good time... Also, great job on the Highway signs! I plopped them onto 202/A2 and performed UDI, felt like I was on a real Highway! I'll get the westbound signs to you very soon...I'll get you your deed and deduct the points for the tollway upon completion of the Signs and Toll Gantries... Would you like to donate any points into Tuckaway Transportation at this time?

Well, here's my plans for the Village at Mountain Ridge, Phase I:

    houstonfan2ti4.jpg

    Legend:

Black lines = Roads (square area is one-way roundabout)

Light gray lines = new Streets

Light green overlays = Medium density Residential

Darker green overlays = High density Residential

Dark blue overlays = High density Commercial

White overlays = Parks & Plazas

Orange overlays = Other Civic uses

Yes, I want some dense development.  This will be kinda like a mid-rise district ultimately.  In addition, the Passenger Rail Station and the density will help this to be a Transit-Oriented Development (TOD, along the lines of New Urbanism).  Plus, for the park inside the roundabout, a statue facing north is my preference.

P.S.: When I ask for commercial or residential land east of Eaton Drive (the Avenue) and around the development, I would like it to be only medium-density, to provide a better transition from dense to suburb (as I predict all the farms along Highway 2 to Linaton are bound to go soon).

I'm back. Sorry for not being around for a while, guys. I'm very impressed with the tollway, and Old Tower Park is lookin' much nicer with the rails underground. I have some stale stuff to ask about, first:

    1. n4c: did you get those plans a long time ago for buying some land downtown? I'd like to proceed with cost estimates for those; I can send the info again if it'd help.

    2. I'd like to buy the commercial property that is currently developed with a tall brown building on it, across from Old Tower Park. This would also solve MPTC's issue of the tall downtown building that's deteriorated, because I would have it torn down. MPTC: if you have any objections to me purchasing the lot, let me know, but I figure it would be a win-win situation.

    3. I'd like to transfer 50 points, at least temporarily to IHOPe Trusts, in case anyone wants a loan. It's not a pressing issue.

    4. CTF: what is the status on the Linaton farm project? The Schop Institute stands ready to consider your offer.

Finally, some new business : If it's not too much trouble, I'd really appreciate some pics of the area west of the Toll road near the mior league stadium. It looks like prime real estate to develop res and com... Dibs!!! 4.gif

Btw, UVa men's soccer might set the all-time NCAA single-game attendance record on Saturday when they play UNC. For a COLLEGE soccer game. It's going to be crazy! I predict over 10,000 fans -- a quarter of Charlottesville's population. And people say soccer [football] isn't big in America! My toes are tingling already.

MPTC: Sounds like a marvelous plan to me. I would just caution that in reality, those buildings, especially the second, would be astronomically expensive, and either would stand out like a sore thumb. (Although I like your taste -- they're both nice towers). I'd wait a while before I went for the stars, but it's your call, and I'd be glad to pay for the land and demolition and split the points.

And I really need sleep, so...

    Goodnight

Yoshiisland - Yes, use points from the Tuckaway Transport Vault as it will keep better record of the transactions than your personal account, and if someone wanted to "chip in" from Tuckaway transport... then it will make it easier... I've collected the new signs for the westbound portion... Lable them the same way you did last time, make sure they have different filenames than before otherwise they'll crossreference with the previous signs...... Just one request this time. Make the center mounted signs all the same size, oh and if POSSIBLE as I know this is asking alot... if you could just make the route markers readable then that would be great but no huge expectations... Oh and whats the status on those elctronic toll gantries? Thanks a ton and great job on the previous signs!

MPTC - 1.8 to Purchase 4.5 Points to destroy it. Once it is purchased, you can biuld anything you desire there so long as it is zone related and doesn't exceed the tiles... Also for whatever reason, your link is not working for me...

politicman - Thank you! They were hard

Houston_Fan - Awsome plan, I'll have a quote for you by tomorrow evening...

willg - Very well and half of Exit 6's sign's have been completed, the eastbound side and some of the westbound side... I'll have photo's up upon surrendering the deed to Tuckaway Transportation... I'll proceed with your development tomorrow... Oh and btw yes you will get points for the other development

iamihop11 - Welcome back. As for the downtown projects... Because of the relocation of the railroad, and also the project to sink the East/West Connector into the ground, a few of those biuldings have been destroyed, or atleast the ones along the side of the freeway... I'll have some updated photo's for you by tomorrow along with the other requests...

Announcement: Just announcing that my updates may be alittle slow as I still need to dedicate time to getting this website running... I've been alittle slack on it lately as I've really been tied up for the past few days...

I'm making good progress on the electronic tolls. Since I'm part of the FBC (Fantasy Building Creation) I decided to give them a "futuristic" look to tie in with my group. I'm glad you liked the previous signs! Unfortunately, when you zoom in to the closest level, objects in the game get pixelated a bit. This is an unfixable game thing, and if it weren't for that I could probably make the signs more readable. Sorry, but I don't think I can, I hope that's okay.  Also, signs 28 and 29 won't copy to my system, I get JPEG images but they won't show up (just these little squares) is this a mistake or are the signs really small for some reason?

As for donating points I think I'll wait until I'm done with these westbound signs AND the toll gantries, which I may be able to release at the same time...

No problem with the rail redirection (I was away for a while), and thanks for the compensation! I was wondering if I could expand my rail ownership and start building some stations to decrease east-west commute times. Here's a preliminary proposal with approximate locations for stations - perhaps you could show me some possible sites where stations could be added.

    Thanks.

here is my plan for the Rural highway out west of Tuckaway. I hope that you can make it great and I don't have a clue if the roads in the 2 pics join up correctly so if they don't please connect them.

also if you need to smooth out some of the curves please do so. also I would like to donate all of the points that I currently have to Tuckaway Transportation systems.

Yoshiisland - As for signs 28 and 29... I say try this
                             > Open M.S. Paint
                             > Right click Sign 28 and select COPY
                             > Go to M.S. Paint, select the selection area tool, right click anywhere on the blank drawing area, and select PASTE...

That should give you the full image... If NOT, then do this as this will DEFINATELY work...

                             > Go to view Signs 28 and 29 on your screen, but don't click them.
                             > On your keyboard, press "PrtSc" or "Print Screen" located somewhere on the top right corner of your keyboard...
                             > Open up M.S. Paint, select the selection area tool, right click anywhere on the drawing area, and select PASTE...
                             > This will copy your ENTIRE window into M.S. Paint, however you'll have to select, crop, and save the signs yourself... but it will DEFINATELY work...

Benedict - Sweet plan, finally a rail system... The system has changed somewhat though, I don't mean to hold you off but do you mind if we wait until I get the website launched before we continue with that? I will have the most up to date transportation map and city shots on there and it will be much easier to plan... Only drawback is the wait time... But with 2 City Scape Views, a whole region map, and even parcelated maps of certain areas and a transport map... I'm certain it will definately help...

lilmanjs - Okay, I'll apply curves as necessary, I'll give you a quote for that in this upcoming update.. Will it be limited access or at grade? if it's limited access then perhaps you and MPTC should make arrangements to just extend Lantia Parkway? If not then maybe it should begin / end at Lantia Parkway?

I'm compiling the files for the next update.. stay tuned!

I keep getting this message: "paint cannot support this file. It is either NOT a valid BMP file or is not supported." I can tell it's a JPEG image, so the problem occured either when you uploaded, or my computer can't copy those ones for some reason. Could you try uploading those two pictures again? Thanks!

I'll try uploading them again, but did you try the Print Screen Function? That DEFINATELY should have worked... Instead of trying to save and open them, did you right click and select copy on the sign? and use paint and select paste?

Okay, this is going to be an amazingly short update, sorry I'm unable to satisfy everyone's requests except Houston Fan's because someone misplaced my SC4 Disk and I can't load the game... Ugh, I'll have to find it and update the rest by tomorrow (I'm not typing from home, I'm running a laptop right now)

Okay, just to satisfy Houston Fan's request...

    Houston Fan Development
    Road Tiles 36
    Street Tiles 35
    Medium Residential Tiles 49
    Dense Residential Tiles 110
    Dense Commercial Tiles 34
    Demolition in Points 9.5
    Near Major Route (Commerce) 0.1
    Near Expressway  0.2
    Near Passenger Rail (Residential) 0.3
    Park Tiles 50
    Expenses
    Road Costs 10.7
    Zoning Costs 176.4
    Residential Grant 60
    Commercial Grant 40
    Total Costs to Biuld 121.6
    Monthly Costs 212.1
    Income
    CJ Monthly Income 298
    Minimum Monthly Income 894
    Total Income 681.9

It's a bit pricey so I'd suggest you ask IHop E Trusts for a loan and also ask Schop Institute if you could have points donated for the development of your parks, which will help bring the price down alittle... tell me when you're ready to continue with the development.

WillG, I havn't forgotten about your request either and I'm super sorry for the delay... I however will need to biuld the actual development before I can quote you... as I'm not 100% sure on what can and cannot be biult and it would be unfair for me to quote and charge you for what cannot be done... ... I need to load the game to do this however and unfortunately that's impossible at the moment...

Iamihop11 and e350tb, your requests have been noted and will be followed by a swift update hopefully tomorrow...

YoshiiIsland, I have reuploaded the signs... if it still does not work, you will need to either...

    > Right click the sign on the browser, select copy... open paint and select paste... and then save it

    or

    > Use Print Screen on the topright corner of the keyboard to take a screenshot of your entire Window, then paste it into M.S. Paint by right clicking and selecting Paste...

Once again, sorry for the delays...
