The sign requests should be finished by the end of the week, as well as a Newark highway and railway update. Also, I want to start expand my little village. Do you mind if I plan it out in the game? I hate using Paint and I don't have any image editing software.

    Auringy City Ideas-

I currently have a couple ideas floating in my mind about what to do along Highway 304.

    1. This would possibly be the cheapest way to deal with 304, that would be to convert the current designated route and a road parallel to the Highway as one-way roads through the city. This would spare you from using imminant domain and destroying large structures. The two one-way roads would join eachother on either side of town, Highway 304 East would be widened.

    2. Another idea would be to create a northern bypass using the 101 Tollway and a new road east of Auringy City. The new road could become a 101 Spur that would be tolled or a avenue with limited traffic signals (one or two for the entire route.)

    3. Create a boulevard bypassing Highway 304 to the south from the bridge to the 101 Tollway, allow an easement for possible light rail access and stations. A possible Highway 504 designation.

Is it possible to see an ariel view of Auringy City and a congestion view that would extend for the length of the troubled route please?

FreewayofFlight - Nice ideas. It would be hard to impliment #1 as it would be very difficult to manuever the oneway road around the eastern side of the city as the 101 Turnpike Interchange exists there...

For Idea #2 - Thats a nice idea, just wouldnt be called 101 Spur as the Turnpike numbering systems are different from Newarks but it still could be owned and apart of the Newark Turnpike  Enterprise.

For idea #3 - I'll let chriss or Tuckaway Transportation (or anyone for that matter) decide if they want to open up light rail service through that area. Perhaps it could run parrallel to the SSRL all the way to Newark.

I'll fetch an image for you real quick

    Woah, quadruple post.

Anyways N4C, I have the skill and time to mash that site of yours into shape, and I most likely can also make a calculator script for handling the math.

    FreewayofFlight-

I should have a congestion data view with usage numbers before the end of this week. I want to do all of Newark at the same time... or at least in the same day.

Hm, looks good... You can take off the gridlines by pressing "G" in the game. Show us more, the region is promising, I like the rural-industrial view!

FlyingHat - Excellent, I'm going to coordinate you and MPTC together for the website development. I'm going to divide it upon 5 catagories so we can keep it simple. The most important thing is that the site stays up to date. So for now it's going to be primarily focused on the Grid Photos, Civic Services, and Transportation Maps. Then of course there will be the option to download Newarks Maps and Calculators. If you want to make an online calculator, do you think you will beable to change a certain variable within it every so often because I'm also going to add an "economical factor" as people are getting developments a bit too easy now... The economical factor will coincide with the "economy" of Newark so it will change from time to time...

    kj3400 - Good job

    jacqulina - Thank you!

Voulpiotis - Thanks. Most of the time, the grids were INTENTIONALLY left on for developmental purposes for the users, that way they can see how many tiles they're dealing with.

It wouldn't be hard at all, it's just messing around with variables in a script.

Shingure - Thats the Oconee Express Rail line which is mostly unpurchased. Benedict owns a small portion in Newark (Parcel 17) which extends from "The Links" Southwestward

FlyingHat - Sweet... Okay I'm going to make a rough sketch for you and the other webdesigners and I would like to know if you can make a design simular to it.. .. Afterward - biuld the site. Also I'm going to move all of the grid images to a photobucket account and have the images linked to that account so we can conserve space on the server...

Option 1: For the one-way road idea to work, you could elevate the Turnpike to allow Eastbound traffic to flow under it. The exits for the current route are long enough to allow or another intersection (I think, I don't have experience with MIS.)

Option 2: I think that if the access road idea (from the 101 Tollway to 304 East) were to be constructed, the interchange with the Tollway and East/West Connector would have to be modified or removed. Otherwise the exit from and onto the 101 Tollway would be a tight fit.

If the Tollway/Connector interchange was rebuilt, I think it would save space to build a roundabout for exiting traffic and have the mainline freeways fly over the circle.

If the interchange was removed, then the Highway 25 interchange could be retrofitted to accomidate excess traffic. If the 101 Tollway/Connector interchange has very little exiting activity there may be no need to make alterations to that or other junctions.

Option 3: Though the possible Highway 504 Lower Bypass would be a long route, it could also solve traffic issues travelling through Eaton. With a four-lane (or six if possible) boulevard was constructed with space for a rail line it could provide two new alternatives for Auringy City and Eaton commuters. If a rail line doesn't travel with the road, a beautifully manicured median would increase land value and encourage development of wealthy businesses and residences (kind of like Las Vegas Blvd).

The Highway would weave through sparcely developed land to reduce building costs.

    Hey everybody!

Just wanted to let you know that there will be a score update TOMORROW for all. Also, most of the outstanding deeds that I am working on will be given to their owners. I may possibly have a few later this evening.

    Thanks!

FreewayofFlight - Great ideas! I like Option 1 and 3 the best... For option 1 I will have to consent with Willg and use some imminant domain as the westbound road doesn't quite make it entirely through the city... For Option 3... 504 Sounds like an excellent idea... and perhaps it will allow new access into Downtown aswell with a new bridge or perhaps it will be the Atlantic Drive extension... I will either biuld the roadway myself or sell the contract for someone to biuld it cosigned as Highway 504. If it is purchased by the Newark Turnpike Enterprise then it will be a Cosigned 504 Toll and Newark Turnpike 102 or something to that nature... Perhaps it will be the first push to centralize a rail unit through a Highway... ... I'm going to set up the plan for it and produce a map showing the proposed route soon unless you want to propose the route and biuld it...

    mapmaker89 - Great idea

From what I interpret from the Auringy City images you provided, I doubt there will be enough room for a direct connection between the 101 Tollway and (Future) Highway 504 on the East side of town. I think it would work better if 504 terminated at Highway 25, also, a flyover could be build for Hwy 25 to go cross Hwy 304. This might benefit by

    -Reducing traffic through Auringy City
-Encourages commuters to use the 101 Turnpike (or Toll 504)

The one-way option would be a great quick-fix through downtown.

Can I get some detail on the offer to build the road?

Hello, I'm new to this city journal. I guess I have 30 points right? If so I would like to find out how this process works and I would like to buy some land that's around the busiest highway; and develop a college complete with football field; and other amenities. How much would that cost. The parcel doesn't matter. As long as it isn't in the mountains. Yucky.

FreewayofFlight - I could probably construct a Dual Trumpet Interchange for the proposed 504 and 101 Turnpike... ...I'll play with it and see because I want to construct it before I make a sign request. For Hwy 25 and 304... 25 Exists outside of Auringy City and although there is traffic, it's not enough to hurt the capacity of both of the divided ghways to warrent an interchange.

On a rough estimate, a road that length would consume somewere around 200 tiles... I'm not certain exactly how much it would cost yet... I'll post the ad up later which will contain the proposal and how much it would cost to biuld...

deion30296 - Hello and welcome to Blue Hope. You can begin by visiting my website and selecting Start Developing. Select a Parcel of your choice and then a grid of your choice. From there... copy the image and map out your plan... post the new image on photobucket and post it in this CJ and someone will tell you how much it costs... ...then we go from there and developing it...

    Evillions - Which image?

    un1 - Nice!

The image I provided shows where I think Highway 504 would best fit, and still be useful. It would begin at Highway 304 near the bridge, it would then follow a couple pre-existing roads until it turned onto a new road headed for Auringy City. Now, the path can be altered for optimal utility, this is just a rough sketch of the path. Hwy 504 would most likely terminate at the 101 Turnpike, but I also thought it would be possible to extend the turminus to Highway 25, if an interchange cannot be constructed from the toll road to 504 directly.

P.S.- Pardon the sloppyness of the dashes, it's hard to do with the paint tool on Paint! 21.gif

FreewayofFlight - Excellent plan... I'll get some in-game shots of the areas it will encompass...

Chriss - Your GLR is done and is looking nice... I'll post it on the next update along with your deed... ..Also to let you know, it MAY be impossible to biuld a Subway across the river as it's such a steep drop into the sea that the Subway doesn't like it... Perhaps instead it would be better to go EL over the Bridge and when it lands in Downtown to have the GLR ride in the median of Highway 35... or go Subway after the Bridge...
