I think this new system, where people can build by themselves directly on the city will be the ruin of this CJ, due to two points:

1 - Things will get most likely unorganized and messy.

2 - Sooner or later the demands will "conflict", once many people are doing different things at the same time. I mean, not everyone will have exactly the same numbers.

My suggestion is to close the CJ for one week or two, even if it screws up the "Lot buying" system, you will be able to get back to the CJ's story itself, which is one the best on Simtropolis outright.

N4C, Most of the time windows city tiles opened in my apparently ultra-sensitive version of SC4 have worked perfectly, they just need an appropriately placed and sized place to estabilish. But, that means that you will have to have the region configuration along with the parcel. ------- Personally, I'm not for Option 2,since the plateau of this CJ would be then chocful of ground mines, prime to explode at the slightest movement, and although the plateau is mined already it is so evenly spaced out that it's almost impossible to get one. Or maybe end the CJ with, oh, say...The Union 93 Propaganda Bridge's set explosives were underestimated in magnitude and blow up most of the city. But anyway, it's your opinion based on ours. Merry Christmas.

Jeez, folks. I just spent the last four days reading this thread off and on. My work productivity was about half what it should be Thursday and Friday, and I have my annual review on Monday, too. Thanks a lot, guys 45.gif (don't worry, I usually operate at about 50% anyway 9.gif)

Anyway, I want in. This is a development I would like a quote on when you get a chance, need4camaro. It's called Riverbend, and it's in Parcel 20, grid C4, just northeast of Cibertown.

riverbend3.jpg

Starting off with 30 points, I think I would need help from Schop and IHOPe. Also, if IHOPe is interested, I'm thinking of a scenic byway along the river, with grass between the road and the river. The street parallel to the river in the above graphic would be the first part, but I'm hoping to start it from Cibertown (or even Linaton) and go as far up the river as we care to.

ETA: Actually, now that I look at it, it would just merge with Highway 2 up the way. Maybe just a river parkway from Linaton through the future Riverbend area.

N4C: I have to say, you'd lose me if you switched to a more independent development system. I'd rather wait a month for a project to get moving than try to deal with all the uploading and downloading. Real development moves really slow, anyway. Also, my desktop, which I use for SC, doesn't have the internet (and is still in my dorm and I'm at home for the next month). It would be too many added steps, so I'd watch, but not develop. Good luck with your decision!

wittay: I know what you mean - this CJ really grabbed me while I was working this summer, which probably wasn't a great look-out, but it's just that cool. 4.gif Ironically, I worked in an architecture firm, and one of their projects was an area called Riverbend. Anyway, I like the development, and IHOPe would be glad to help out. Once you get the cost, let me know how much you need to borrow. Finally, let me know the details of what (how much) you want Schop to help with and I'll get a vote from the directors.

Merry Christmas!!!

Ihop

ihop: Yeah, we have a Riverbend Golf Course out here that's pretty nice (I'm pretty sure I would think it was nicer if I played golf). It seemed appropriate, and it was either that or Wittay's Freakishly Awesome Estates.

Those signs look great! It'll be different from the usual, but whatever. I'll post pictures of my progresss as I go along to make sure they look right.  As for making diagnol signs, I just have to rotate a vertical one 45 degrees with gmax's rotate tool, it's VERY easy.2.gif

PS: Thanks for updating the story!44.gif

    Merry Christmas!!!

For a surprise Update, and as much as an Xmas Present I can offer you guys... I have added 50 Points to everyone's account...  and further more... I've decided to show you guys just how far we've come within the last Four and a Half Months... The reason being is, we continue to request for developments and information but not once do we look at our current developments and how they have contributed to Newark and that will be the point of this Update...

    ________________________________

First we'll start off with some basic infastracture...

The East/West Connector would probably be a prime example of a cooridoor that's been through some extensive changes... Lets have a look...

E/W Connector's Old Western Terminus in the beggining of the CJ...

    Now exists as...

N4C: I gave Diggis the RIGHT MMLs this time. 4.gif A bit of an upset though...

there was an error that occured when I merged the files into one .DAT file. The BAT descriptors got duplicated and made it impossible to make MMLs for them. I DO have backups of all the files on my hard drive, but if you want to hide the first two sets of highway signs with the MMLs, you must also download an updated version of the signs themselves and replop them. I promise it won't happen to the future ones though!

superb city. what are u planning on for the future? to add, how do u create those road underpasses, because i really wanna learn how to build those. i would recommend that u use the NAM rural highways mod if u're gonna build a highway away from civilization, but otherwise, well done, man, well done. can't wait to see more.4.gif44.gif

I'm also wondering about Mr. N4C's absence, he may be working really hard on an update, in RL, or both, but I REALLY don't want this CJ to die now...

If you're there dude, the new MIS has come out and other new NAM items! 9.gif You're going to want to grab those for your cities!

lilmanjs - Ooooh yes.. I've been working extremely diligently as you're about to find out...

Mr. Monorail Man - There should be one more on the way before Jan.7th so be on the lookout

errea - Thank you and I hope you enjoy your stay...Most of those ARE rural highways... mainly just using a texture mod... ...As for the overpasses, They're apart of Nam. if you show me exactly what overpass you mean, I'll make a quick tutorial to show you...

Yoshiisland - Look no further... This MIS is out?!?! AT LONG LAST... Darnit that means I'm going to have to replace all those one way roads and take updated shots! ... It'll be a project in the works but it'll be worth it! Can you make an electronic toll gantry for the MIS ramps? - Edit: Whoa, I just had a look at the RHW / MIS... wow...just...wow... I might need a minute on that sign request...

    ___________________________________

First announcement, I have seen all of your requests and havn't forgotten about a single one. I had to prioritize on the website seeing as though this was going to be my last break for awhile (updating is relatively simple and quick, the website, until it's complete is a different story...)

I invite you all to have a look at the website again, I have updated the news chamber in allowance for it to carry multiple updates... This will be the system used to show your bio and development on the investors page aswell because it takes a grande 5 minutes to update in this format... ... Thats not all, have a look at the Parcels/Grid section, I am proud to say that it is now fully up to date and 90% COMPLETE!!! Will definately be finished by this weekend in which to allow you to choose a sector and plan...

The next story update should be due before Jan.7th along with a score update...

WITTAY - Welcome aboard... The cost for your development is...

    Cost to Biuld 31.1
    Monthly Expenses 31.1

Quick Update: I've been working around with the MIS... It's pretty cool but not quite as flexible as I'd like it. I believe I'm going to leave the interchanges as they remain with some minor modifcations here and there... I will only require full useage of the MIS on newer Freeways and Interstates...

Far out. If I can talk Schop into donating the 1.1 points for the parks, I'd like to move ahead.

    Benedict - Thank you...

    MPTC - Welcome Back...

HoustonFan: Any news on your development along Highway 45? and how it was going to be performed?

    ________________________________________________

Before we get started, and this time so EVERYONE will notice (and not blame me for not updating it...) The Storyline has been updated!

You can view the update HERE ... It DOES have sound...

    ______________________________________

    Lets begin...

First, I want to congratulate our new member Wittay with his first development in Newark! A town called Riverbend... lets have a look...

    Wittay1.jpg

    Wittay2.jpg

    ...

Congratulations Wittay... Here is your deed...

    RiverbendDeed.jpg

Keep track of it incase a conflict with your score arrises...

    ____________________________________________________

Secondly... Willg, Pepinere Views has come a long ways since it was biult... spawning its first skyscraper and the tallest biulding outside of the downtown area! Lets have a look!

    PepinereVeiws2.jpg

Convinient to the A2 Tollway Corridoor, Pepineer Views has become a prominent Upperclass High Density area in the Newark Region...Spawning its first Sky Scraper in 2031. Condo's and townhouses surrounding it provide an urban feel while shops and stores are conviniently located around the area. The Tollway provides a quick commute method to the workforce of Newark...

    PepinereVeiws.jpg

A closer look at the tower the development...

    Congratulations Willg...

    _____________________________________________

Secondly, Newarks Major Expressway, 202/A2 Tollway and portions of the E/W Connector will undergo a project to beautify the Exit / Entrance Ramps... A Palm project... As seen below, already completed at the Exit 4 interchange with Highway 35...

    Palm1.jpg

    Palm2.jpg

This means that every interchange will recieve palm trees in the median of the highway between the break in the Centermounted High Mast Lights. Exit ramps will also recieve them in an urban plan to beautify Newarks Highways...

    _____________________________________________________________________

And now for a points update...
