Nice updates. You have a good look to your towns. True, it is more built up than Okinawa, but it still has some areas which look similar. I like the palace.

    BANNER.jpg?t=1185974611

Sorry all for the much delay, but nonetheless, i have brought the UPDATE! Plus i am working on the second biggest city of the country currently!

    Ok lets go!

After Ryukyu gained independance, the former capital of Shuri was moved to Naha, just across the bay. Shuri became the imperial state. At the beginning of Naha's birth, it was only a small town in a developing nation. Only a few tall buildings stood and the population of some 20,000 lived in homes outlying the area.

As time went on the nation became centered on fishing and its economics rose. In the early 60's, Naha became the biggest fishing market in the world, boosting the economy. Many fish companies moved into Naha building corporate offices a forming a new business district. As Naha entered the late 20th century, Ryukyu residents went overseas to Japan and learned of the rise of new technologies.

One man, Takash!ta Yumeto invented the first portable television in the late 1980's. This invention was a huge hit in the international world and Naha became the center of economics. Other economic companies like Maneya Camera LTD and Docoraku Electronics became world renowned names. With the increase in demand for corporate offices but since the business district was built up, downtown Naha near Port of Naha was created and now holds many of the world headquarters or Ryukyu headquarters of electronics such as SONY, Panasonic, Mitsubishi, Samsung, LG, Phillips.

    nahaseal.jpg?t=1186868553

Naha is comprised of five major districts: Central Naha, Gotemba, Motegi Hills, Kochi Beach, and Coral Shore

NHA (Naha International Airport) is the largest airport in the country and serves lots of international, and regional traffic

    Demographics:

    Ryukyuan: 44%

    Japanese: 32%

    Korean: 14%

    Chinese (Mainland and Taiwan): 6.5%

    American: 2%

Other (Thai, Pilippino, Pacific Islander, Vietnamese, etc.): 1.5%

Naha City Hall, built in 1987 to better accomodate offices for all five districts.

    CityHallcopy.jpg?t=1186868826

Kankoku Machi: During WWII, many Koreans were brought to Okinawa by Japan and after Ryukyu gained independance, many of the Koreans who no longer had homes back in Korea decided to live in Ryukyu. Kankoku Machi or Koreatown, is the small ethnic neighborhood where the Koreans of Naha can shop to get Kim Chi or stop by a Korean Resteraunt and eat some Bul Gol Gi.

    Koreatown.jpg?t=1186869404

Kobukero: A neighborhood comprised of many apartments. As Kobukero is close to downtown, these apartments and condos tend to be very expensive.

    Kobukero.jpg?t=1186869488

Because of Naha's rising prices, the lower wealth sims can't afford high end apartments like those in Kobukero. At the west end of Naha Central is Kabaten, home to many lower income apartments.

    Kabaten.jpg?t=1186869666

Another wealthy high rise district is Naha Heights, home to some of Naha's largest apartment complexes. Because of its increadible view some upper floor apartments can go for as much as 9,000,000,000 Meizan or $900,000.

For some electronics shopping, Marunochi is the entertainment capital of Ryukyu. Much like Tokyo's Akihabara one can get high end electronics for lower prices and at wide varites too! The Marunochi Park Hotel looms above the busy area.

Connecting with Okinawa Expressway, is Keizan Dori which connects to the imperial state of Shuri. Keizan Hashi crosses Naha Bay to connect downtown with Eigiza.

In Eigiza is Yumeto Park, home of Naha Suns which will soon join the SLB.

Well thats all for now, hope this was a large enough update; next we head to Motegi Hills to check out Ocean World!

Gah youve come so far since San Fransisico CJ. Although i have a confession, i liked Hiraku a tiny bit better. This city is great though, and i want to see some more of your small villages.
