Hello there, this is where ill be showing of my BAT creations for the next little while, maybe some 3ds stuff, but that’s too expensive (unless someone wants to get me a present for Christmas) anyway, here’s my latest master piece  49.gif

    Ive re-textured the roof, now all textures are done and out of the way!

    to do list...

    - add some junk on the roof

    -night lighting and render

    Woah, pleasant surprise! That is very good work...I think you should add a spire with colorful night lights...just a suggestion though...looks great!!

    My only suggestion for this one is to increase the contrast in the windows, and to give the building a main entrance.  Even though there are doors, there should be something that visually looks like a main entrance. 

    The black looks like it will probably be ok, but to be sure, you'll want to see it in the game.

    The base of the roof texture is a weird texture to use though.  usually roofs aren't solid concrete with a bunch of cracks in them.  1.gif

    I tried a few other variations for the roof, but nothing looked good. Ill keep messing around with it, but for now Im gonna stay with cracked asphalt...

    this was one of the other roof textures, but it looks very low quality...

    use a regular concrete no cracks. looks good i suggest adding some sort of fancy thing on the highest roof, just for show 3.gif

    Great start - love the darkness of that tower. For name giving, open up a phonebook or a dictionary (a foreign or dead language can help, such as ancient latin) and mix & mingle. Often helps me. You can use the yellow pages to find the sort of business.

    Some ray tracing might improve your tower. I only recently learned about it, but it does make that difference! Check out gascookers tutorial in the Omnibus.

    This looks great. I like the transition from the tower to the base. The penthouse is a nice contrast to the rest. I have one issue though, on the base there is a single double door on every single section. I can't think of any skyscrappers with a design like that. Surely some of the ground sections would just be large ground windows without doors. All those doors just look silly.

    I fixed the roof, I think it looks good enough to keep now

    also I took out all the doors around the building and replaced them with a main entrance, that I still yet to make

    I found a name, Scotia Bank Tower, a real bank but fictional tower

    for the top roof, I want to build a dome or a glass pyramid, something along the lines of those

    I guess it's better you're making a dome.

    A glass pyramide could be too much for such a tiny building.

    I kinda liked the octagonal penthouse and its contrasting lighter colored walls. You could always make several steeply receeding stacks of layered octagons, up to a final flat octagonal top. Each layer can even be a different shade or even a different color, and at night you can light it all up. It would be crowned, without being too over-the-top.

    I agree with Odainsaker, that would look really good.

    The new (or old) building is looking really good.  My only advice on it is to weaken the roof gradient a bit, and to apply a single, big, box uvw map to all of the windows at once, to make the windows look better.  Also, one of the flower baskets is looking strange.

    Well, the virus seems to be spreading, run to the hills!

    for those of you that dont know what Im talking about, Ive started a virus that keeps me from finishing anything, the only way to rid myself of this curse is to... finish something. everytime I'm nearly completed a BAT, I feel this urge to start another...

    Anyway, here a few recent BAT's I need to finish before more get infected with this horrid curse!!...*coughfrankiecough*

    The most recent...

    I'm doing this for my CJ, this small part of the roof top will soon be Union Towns city hall

    This one a can render now and would still look...rather ok in game, but there are no lights and alot of missing details...

    this one needs a spherical UVW map on the texture for the dome part as it becomes overpixelated towards the base, im assuming you have a planar XY map currently.

    this one, the flat roof texture needs changing, needs to have more variation, also there would be some form of vents or skylights on the sloped roof portions...
