The reason I first got an N64 and am still loyal to Nintendo is because of the games. Take away Grand Theft Auto and Gran Turismo, and Playstation have nothing. Take away Halo, and X-box have nothing. But take away Mario, there is Link. Take away Link, there is DK. Take away DK and there is Pikmin. Take away Pikmin, you have the F-Zero series. The fact is that Nintendo has such a great line-up of GC (and soon Revolution) exclusive games that people will buy the console. I got an N64 for Goldeneye. I got a GameCube for Rogue Squadron. I will get a Revolution for all the past Ninty games...

If I get a next gen console, it will either be Xbox or Rev. I need to wait and see just what this revolution is before I can make a decision. I've always liked Nintendo, but sometimes their stuff is just weird(V-Boy) or almost useless(GBA/GC connection, e-reader), but it looks like they've been getting better(DS!).

90? More like 900, especially if they find a way to port all the translated Japanese titles like Final Fantasy II and III for the NES.29.gif But it's true. Sony and Microsoft have survived off of graphics alone, using numerous clones and a very few BIG titles. Nintendo may not get those clones, but almost all of their titles are hits. TBFKAEM, you forgot Metroid, which gives even Halo a run for it's money. When Revolution comes with it's online component, and we get a Metroid Prime quality game with online multiplayer... no Halo will ever stand a chance. Not that I dislike Halo, I have it for the PC. But c'mon... Nintendo has the quality, so it doesn't need the quantity.44.gif

That's where the Developers that support ONLY Sony and Microsoft are falling short. They assume that more power = better quality. That's certainly not true.

The next console I would get would be Revolution or Playstation 3. I watch G4, A tv for gamers and it gave some good info on E3. Its a good channel to watch. Right now here are some thoughts on Revolution:

    -Key-

    + = Good

    - = Bad

    - Even though they show it, the controlers are missing. What are the controlers are going to look like? 31.gif

    - No info on games that will be used on that system. 32.gif

+ The Controlers for BOTH Revolution and Playstation 3 are wireless 29.gif

+ BOTH systems you can play games from the past. On Revolution you can play Gamecube games and I guess you can download thier old games from Nintendo. Playstation 3 you can the previous Playstation 1 and 2 games on it. Also Playstation 3 will support 7 or 8 controlers, that are wireless 19.gif

    My review: 3/5

    * I also suggest if you want more info on any system go to thier main site. Hence E3, I beleive is over for this year. 49.gif3.gif

    * Also watch G4. Depending on your cable provider and state you are in, each channel is different. I am in FL so its on chanel 124

    * For anyone who is not certian watch G4 or go to the games main sites. I hope this is useful for anyone. Good luck and pick a good choice everyone!! 44.gif

    * I also heard on that channel that Nintendo might have a surprise up thier slevee 29.gif. What it is, I don't know. 31.gif

    -Axim X50v
    -tele lens for cam

    That's $1800 right there...

    @JRmystery

What do you mean no info on games that will be used on that system?
I think everyone knows what kind of games to expect for both systems. Nintendo has already announced Super Smash Bros. will be a launch title. They will most likely also have a Mario game at launch. And Sony will have their usual crap. 3.gif

18.gif I've never heard that term before, so I read it like a misspell. Oh well, learn something new everyday. Speaking of which, here's what else I've learned today:

There's no possible way to simply build yourself out of traffic congestion. -This is a known fact among Transportation Planners (I am one now). Greenville County is just starting to evolve a mass transit system, but won't get to rail for decades. We're starting to sidestep falling into trying to build our way out by having extensive public meetings and education.

Anyways, I'm off topic. Sorry, back to Revolution.

@JRmystery: The controlers not being shown is a Good thing!29.gif If they show them too early, Sony and Microsoft will incorporate those elements into their own designs. It's been made known that the revolution is in the controllers, so we're all waiting to see.

Yeah you are right, but ussualy they do. Maybe thats Nintendo's trick. The only way is to go to thier site or look at G4. However Nintendo's booth got a review grade of:

7/10 = This is from G4 from the show Judgement day

Anyways, I never thought of that. The reason is that most of the shows on that channel want to see what it looks like. Like everyone else, what the controls look like, I don't know, but when they reveal them then I could say if they are good or bad. Right, you do have a point though 29.gif19.gif.

And as usual Sony Playstation does better.

9.5/10 = From the same show and channel 22.gif

Who knows some time Nintendo might Overtake Playstation. But when that day comes, well I don't know, it might never come. I have been a nintendo fan for a long time and today I still am. 47.gif18.gif

EAGLE = I did not know, because I only watched some of the things on G4 about E3. Well sorry, but I sent, the respone and forgot to change it. Thanks again 16.gif

That is indeed why they claim not to have shown the controller yet. They said Sony has copied their revolutionary ideas for controllers before... the analog stick being one of them.

im sorry to put negative comments in this Nintendo worhiping thread, but the ugly little rectangle that is the revoultion of crap, is MUCH slower than both the PS3 and the XBOX 360. you shouldn't make choices just based on your apperant loyality to that specific company but rather check the specs first.32.gif

I'm probably going to buy an Xbox 360. This generation, I have a gamecube and an Xbox. My GC.....basically sits in my sisters room because I have no use for it. I remember waiting at Target the day it launched to get it. Now I never use it. Just no games that appeal to me. Revolution will probably be the same (and before anyone starts listing off games, I said games that appeal to me. As for the PS3, I've honestly never been a big Sony/Playstation fan. I mean, if I could afford a PS3 I'd probably get one (in fact, a year or 2 after it launches, if it drops in price enough I'll almost certainly get one), but for now it's just looking like I'll stick with an Xbox 360. The games in development for it already look great.

But a working prototype of revolution still hasn't been made. What evidence do you have to back up your view?

Aww, he's just mad that once Revolution is done, it's not only going to look better but be smaller.18.gif (I'd mention that Revolution will have better-quality games, but that doesn't matter to peeps with performance on the brain.)

Sorry about being so ignorent but i have gotten really pissed off at Nintendo lately. My freinds gamecube somehow riuned my TV, my N64 broke, my gameboy broke, my gameboy advanced broke, and on top of that, ive simply outgrown the Nintendo charecters. I apologize for being so bad to Nintendo, but i am just really PO'ed at them for the moment.

Heres a link that compares the systems, http://www.totalnextgen.com/

not much info on the Revolution but it might come out in 2007!
XBOX 360 comes out in late 05, and PS3 in early 06.
Nintendo fans might have to wait a while.

    where did you hear that?
    quote>

Q: When will Revolution be released?

A: If you're asking for a specific date for our next system -- we don't have one. Nintendo is going to remain competitive and will launch around the same time as competitors -- not later than, said Nintendo of America's vice president of corporate affairs in a May 2004 interview. This used to be the company line. But at E3 2005, Nintendo sang a different tune. No longer concerned about beating Sony to market, Nintendo executives said simply that Revolution would launch in 2006.

During a conference call discussing its financial status, Revolution memory maker MoSys said that the console would launch in mid-2006.

Microsoft will debut Xbox 360 this November in America. Sony said at E3 2005 that it would like to launch PlayStation 3 by March 2006. Given these plans, Revolution will likely be the last system to hit the market.

I would suggest you look over the rest of it also.

Hmm, what might the 'Revolution' be?

    Might it be..... this? ?

I've seen that before. We already know it can't be that since Nintendo already showed the console.

Whoever made it did a really good job though.

Nintendo has recently decided to be hush-hush with all their works so that other companies can't beat them to their own ideas.

I believe that the Revolution will return Nintendo to the top of the gaming list. New systems are always rated by their best known first games, and gamecubes was Animal Crossing unfortunately. Revolution is going to start out with Legend of Zelda, Twilight Princess which is going to be AWESOME!

Wow, so is that why so many mobile systems failed against the GameBoy EVEN though they had more powerful specs in the early mobile age? I mean, you could create the most powerful comptuer on earth but does that mean the games on it would be the best, of corse not, since the computer would be used for more useful purposes!

And about loyality, your telling me you don't have any towards Sony or Microsoft?????

But getting back on topic, I just have confidence in Nintendo in that they have been in the business since the beginning and I have grown up on all the various systems. From the NES to the GameCube & DS, I have been playing them since I was a kid! Hopefully, the next system's backward compatiability will bring in some more gamers along side the regulars because of the name, and of corse, quality of games! I mean, no other system has the legends that most everyone knows, and has been around the block a time or two.

Anyway, good luck to Nintendo! (Of corse, good luck to Microcrud & Sony too)

Yeah, according to this preview., the Revolution's specs haven't even been released yet, despite what you hear from the media. If all you believe is the media, then I personally think that you believe a lot of lies.

Also, this preview also says that you will be able to download games FOR FREE!!!!

Quote: Beginning by referring to Nintendo's next-gen chances, Harrison confidently claimed, Revolution will have no real problem standing up to [PS3 and Xbox 360], keenly pointing out that, while Sony and Microsoft have laid their cards on the table, Nintendo is yet to actually reveal its final specs, regardless of what has been said by the press.

Harrison then explained that getting developers on board is key to the Revolution strategy, and Nintendo is working hard to ensure Revolution is both easy and cheap to develop for.

As far as what makes the console revolutionary, Harrison was coy regarding the controller, instead focusing on Nintendo's online plans and downloadable games service.

People sort of picked on us for not prematurely jumping into online or internet gaming, he mused, going on to point out that now the company has more to offer besides online gaming. Harrison then confirmed that past-gen, Nintendo-created titles will indeed be downloadable for free. End quote

The only problem is, if the game was made by Namco or some third-party developer, they can charge whatever they want, be it fifty cents or fifty dollars per game.

But, I think they'd be sued for going anywhere above maybe five dollars.

If Nintendo makes available 3rd party titles, I'm sure those parties will get a sizable share of the profits. If not all.
