You know, the funny thing about having a large Region is that once you get to a certain size, it's really hard to notice differences. The city is almost 300,000 larger than the last regional view. Can you all spot the differences?

Also, I had to post these too. I was playing with Photoshop and made these birdseye views of the city. Kinda looks like a GoogleMap/GoogleEarth map, doesn't it?

Wow, haven't seen this CJ before, but that does look VERY realistic from the aerial view when compared to real cities! Love it.

Lovely amazing region view there mate. The downtown is so clearly visible and there is a very realistic urban and suburban sprawl!

    artoxb: Thanks!

bbfan02: Thanks. They need a lot of highways to get around because they provide the most direct routes to the most important places.

Andronicus22: I'm so glad I've got your interest. Sorry about the lack of regular updates. I do them as time permits. Thanks for your great comments.

dfnva: The beltway is my favorite part. It was a little premature but I wanted to get the planning done while I had the chance.

aleking: The scale is interesting. The city limits are hard to nail down but the interesting thing is that area-wise it's kind of small. DC at its longest point would be 4x4 large squares... put in perspective, my city itself does not seem so large (remember, the suburbs are on the north side across the river).

ac94: I got the long seaport from the STEX. It's just a combination of a bunch of the rectangular port pieces (I can't remember who made them).

packersfan: Please do! Thanks for the interest! Do you not like subdivisions because they are hard to build? They do take a lot of time because using the slanted streets is a bit tedious... and lining them with houses is even more tedious. But the end result is worth it.

tomdapom: LOL. Things have changed a lot, so you're excused. LOL.

anarchy0029: Thanks! I have been trying to make it very realisitic, especially with the long commercial stretches along the main thoroughfares.

jacqulina: Thanks again for your encouraging comments.

gabry85: Thanks, and stay tuned in. I have quite a few updates to share.

GreekMan: Thanks, but what building are you talking about?

NMUSpidey: I just finished taking pictures of a section of the city called Allends, so I will be posting those soon.

    RJN: Thanks for your interest!

Pablo_SIMMANIAK: Thanks for stopping in. Visit again!

Artur_001: Thanks... like the street sign in the avatar by the way. LOL.

iamthouth2: Thanks. I'm trying to fill up the whole map. Takes a really long time too. I'm still working my way out to the northwest. That's been the most challenging because there's so much empty space and not a lot of interesting terrain. I'm thinking farms.

suplado!: Thanks. I like arranging the housing into neigborhoods.

waway625: It took a long time, but I've loved every minute. Thanks!

Teeparex: I was thinking of changing the water color on the birdseye view to see if I could make it look even more realistic.

Mike the Mayor: Thanks again for your comment!

Nice regional views. I like how the highways and major thoroughfares are set up and I like your beltway as well.

    ALLENDS:

This is Allends, the southmost point of the city of Andremore. It is situated miles away from the rest of the city and came very close to becoming its own incorporated city... but the Mayor wasn't havin' it.

    andremoreallendssmalloj1.jpg

Because it's so far away from the rest of the city, this modest building is actually tallest for miles.

    andremoreallendsclosesmti6.jpg

    andremoreallendscloseniwq5.jpg

Allends has its own Chinatown in its "downtown" area.

    andremoreallendsclosefrqe1.jpg

    andremoreallendscloseniit4.jpg

This is the edge of the Belmont area of Allends. It is one of the most elite areas in the city of Andremore (though it is certainly not the richest). It was these folks that wanted to make Allends its own city. Due to costs, the Mayor denied for them to have their own airport.

This is a new subdivision the residents of Allends are planning at the site of the proposed airport that got shot down.

    andremoreallendsnewneigzj1.jpg

Because Allends is such a desirable area, it was not long before residents poured in.

    andremoreallendsnewneigdy6.jpg

As the residents poured in, so did the commerce. Two more major offices located to Allends and new condominiums sprung up.

Even the Chinatown area got more lively.

The whole Andremore metropolitan area is famous for its treelined thoroughfares... so you really have to know where you're going unless you're following a skyscraper off in the distance.

Excellent GE-like pic! And I like the small harbor and your diagonal use of the breakwater pieces a lot. Small but cute Chinatown- area, looking forward to the next update,
