It's definitely Thai but there aren't enough tall buildings to be Bangkok, I think. I'm guessing it's Hatyai.

Yeah it is absolutely sure Thailand. Since that is a thai alphabet, but down to the town... that is again impossible unless someone has actually been there. The point of games like that is not random picking A PICTURE and let people just guessing. There should be some sort of visual clues from which one can deduct the actual location (precisely to the city) like on the very first picture in this thread – that was famous Jakarta Landmark. May be landmark could may be not quite famous to make it a bit more challenging, like with Harbin. But there should be something more than a couple of very poorly light generic structures with as generic signs betraying not more than a country. If it is indeed Bangkok picture, in my opinion doesn’t really show it in any way different then say Changmai, or Puhket of say town on Koh Samui. Night street markets exist in each and every Thai city or town, at least in all I have been to…

And those “Jeepney things”, those are called Tuk-Tuk and are all over the Thailand!

Also it would be great if people would put at least couple of words to support their claims, instead of just droping first Asian city name that pops in their head! Hanoi?!?! Why on earth?

And given presence of "western" style palatial building I would say it is a capitol city, so this is Kathmandu - the capitol of Nepal
