    penguin: thanks!

    suplado: thanks!

c0ckatoo: thanks, I know what you mean, I'll try to designate them to their own area.

OK...to make this short, no description...it's more of the resorts basically. By the way, see those lave pools? Those are my favorite part of the picture.

Cool port and industrial areas. I love some of those futuristic buildings by Somy, they look so amazing.

    Sunny! Very sunny and bright!

Beautiful resort area. The trees are super dense. Not a bad idea with the igneous rock thing too (correct me if I'm wrong but that's the solidified lava by the shore, right?).

skyliner: Yeah lol! It's global warming's fault! Thanks, and those really tall palms are by jeronij, but I'm nor sure if they're still on the STEX.

penguin: Thank ou! Yeah the reef is inspired by a real world one in Hawaii. The real one doesn't have the resorts though

jacky: Thanks! Yeah I really like the reef too if I do say so myself.

Peng74: Thanks! Yeah, thank goodness for Somy, he was a great BATter. Thanks for coming to Candyland!

homeandaway: Thanks! Yeah lol, it gets bright there doesn't it? You can get a full tan in just under 5 minutes-any longer and you'll be deep-fried!

Deever: Thanks! Yeah the trees are dense, I probably could have put in some stones for a heiau and maybe spaced the trees a little better, but it turned out OK. Yeah, the lava pool idea was based off a real one I saw and I knew I had the tools in SC4, so I did it lol. Yeah, that's the lava by the shore. It's almost a tidepool, but there's not always creatures or fish inside them.

    Palms-a-plenty!

This one would have been like the last, but a while back cleaner requested a sunset picture. When going over the replies I saw it and decided to make this one sunset. I really liked how it turned out, let's see what you think...

I think it turned out well. It's not a 100% real sunset, but it fits well. Hope you all like it! By the way after this there are 3 more mosaics from Kona Ridge.

Enjoy and please leave a comment! 9.gif

It kinda looks like a nuke went off. I like it. I want to visit, but I'll be sure to tint my car windows first. Leonardo

Wow ISD2, these last two are very nice!

Great photoshoping, you seem to be improving out of sight!

One other thing- The last mosaic along with some others in this CJ are not in line. The first picture is centered and all the rest are on the left hand side but I think only people with a wide screen monitor can see it because when I make the browser smaller it comes back into line. But that's easy to fix, just make sure all pics are centered

    8:05 P.M.

    Everyone:

Thank you for pointing out the alignment problem, I will fix it immediately. I normally use FF with a 800X600 monitor but now I am using IE with a 1680X1050 monitor. Just a warning for anyone with a widescreen. I will be going through and checking every mosaic. Please tell me if there's any I have missed.

    Thank you,

    IDS

    EDIT: 8:17 P.M.

I have fixed the alignments to my resolution, please let me know if some still aren't working and I will align them left. Currently, most of them are centered.

    Thanks,

    IDS

topcliff: Lol, you're right! Hehe, window tints are available at the following participating stores...thanks!

jacky: I need darker sunglasses! Lol, thanks. Plenty of shade, just watch where you take a nap...some of them are coconut palms. 3.gif

penguin: lol, thanks, I like the sunset too, turned out well.

skyliner: Lol yeah it is! It's a flaming inferno! Run!!!!! Thanks.

Schul: Actually, it was manufactured in a secret assembly room on the north side of Monkey Island. Unless I've gone bananas...

hotdogs: Thanks, I'll look into fixing the alignment issue at once. I want you to see the whole thing put together, of course. 3.gif sometimes I just forget the centering key.

cleaner: no prob, thank you, don't worry we have the most excellent loggers employed. 4.gif

C0ckatoo: Thank you! I'll fix the alignment issue at once, please let me know if there are any I've missed.

Thanks everybody! Time for the next update...Sorry this is taking a while, my Photobucket album has reached its limit. Time to start another...*goes over to imageshack* What can I say?

    Where to stay?

Well, with so many resorts, which one is the best? Here is a picture taken shortly after a rainstorm (it rains often in Kona Ridge, but not for long, that explains why everything is green and sunny.) As you can see, the water is a tad higher, and things have been stirred up a bit, but everything is still immaculately beautiful, if I say so myself. 3.gif As you can see, there are several trails weaving through the palm trees, providing some shade for Sims out on a stroll. I know, there's the grid on. Please tell me if you can;t see the pics, imageshack tends to change my file types.

THANK YOU everybody for your help, as some of you know I am having technical difficulties with this journal at the moment, so please hold tight. Tell me if something isn't working just right and I will do my best to fix it. Any way I hope you all enjoy the mosaic! Happy SAAD day! 9.gif

Ahh. . . Sunset. . . It's pretty good. As you said, it ain't 100% but the good aspects of the mosaic outweigh the bad ones by a lot.

More resorts (and trees). Good choice of buildings. Its how they vary in design that makes them mix well.

    Grid. Off. Now. 3.gif

Looks good, though. You need more variety in [palm] tree types. It looks kinda plain with just the one model of tree, so maybe mix it up a bit more?

Take it easy on the Photoshopping. We want good solid eyecandy (which you are providing), and too much image colour-changing (saturation, etc, etc) can ruin that.

    All in all, good job!

c0ckatoo: OK, thanks! Yeah, I just need different trees. Thanks again!

Deever: Heh, thanks, yeah it's not 100% but it fits for now. I just gotta change these files...

Shadow Assassin: Eh, lol. I wish I could. 3.gif Well then, all mosaics fabricated after July 20th will be grid-free. 3.gif I do need more palm trees, good point, and maybe farther between. Thanks for all the input! I will certainly incorporate all those ideas.

Godzillaman: I'll say! I need to go easy on the tree tool...lol. 3.gif

OK, a quick update...just a warning, imageshack keeps changing the format of my pictures to pngs from bmps, so from now on I will be using jpegs so it takes them. That doesn't include this one and yesterday's though I'll change them ASAP. Let me know if you can't see them.

    Terraced Condos

Named for the tall resort near the top, well, you get the picture. I'll shut up this time and leave it to you to interpret it.

OK, thanks guys. I'll fix it immediately.

EDIT: OK, how do they work now? I converted them to low-quality JPEGs for now...don't be surprised if there's no mosaic tomorrow, I have to fix this stuff. 3.gif

Yup, they are working now! But with the above pic, I think it would be better with the condos and hotels on the waterfront.

I WOULD LIKE to give a blessing to the families who were affected by the collapse of the bridge on I-35 in Minneapolis this evening. Minneapolis is a great city and while this is devastating to the entire world many peoplr survived the disaster.
