bbfan02: Thanks, you to (a little late lol)

    Smarty218: Thanks ver much!

TO ALL READERS: I know I haven't updated yet, but I need a little more time for my next city to be finished (at least enough for an update). Plus I'm swamped with several other things, but I WILL NOT QUIT THIS CJ! Thanks for your patience!

Southern Passage 7th Stop: Yoshi Island East

Once exiting the mass of steel and metal, you find yourself wandering into a slightly lower scale urban sprawl.  All around there's apartments, offices, construction, a massive bridge, and some industry farther east/north.  As you pass through the tunnel under the water, you emerge to find the mainland (finally, the sea air was making me sick) and a mass of construction.  Apparently there was some kind of mall in the works that got delayed for some time...

Hope you can see well enough here...

This asian district seemed to grow on its own...no problem since that's really what I wanted.2.gif

    Thanks guys.

Yeah, I know updates have been really slow lately but I can explain everything (summary):

So I thought it'd be good idea to create a city of a few different cultures...very different, actually.  In fact they, for the most part, are very different from each other both geographically and socially.  Truth be told, this update is long overdue, but in addition to getting sidetracked with Team Grater weekend etc., the city ran into a few...okay, SEVERAL problems...but I remedied the problems and after many weeks of working with a very frustrating yet unique (at least I think so) city, here is the result:

Southern Passage 8th Stop: Tropical Plains

Don't let the generic name fool you this time.  It may sound like another mainland beach setting, but it's anything but.  And besides being near an ocean and being a plain, the name doesn't even begin to describe it.  When the train pulls into city limits, mosts' reactions are...what the heck?  This is less like one city and more like four isolated, very well developed mini cities.  They are all seperated by checkpoints and walls, but the four sectors are very friendly.

The boundaries between these comrad sectors are very well defined...

Okay, so what are the darned sections already?  Alright, here they are in order I built them:

Latin American District (most BATs avaliable at Capital SimCity).

    LAPic1.jpg

    LAPic2.jpg

    LAPic3.jpg

    LAPic4.jpg

    LAPic5.jpg

French District (most BATs by Porkissimo).

    FPic2.jpg

    FPic3.jpg

    FPic4.jpg

    FPic5.jpg

German District (most BATs by SFBT and haarlemmergold).

Great work, buddy! You're getting better at playing the game everytime I look in here. I especially love the night shots, every BAT that has cool nightlighting looks really great with that mod, don't you think?

I like the concept, and the North East is a really foreign part of the world to me. Can't wait for more pics! Maybe use a higher resolution for your screens, cause I can't fully see how great your Cj is!

@bbfan02: Glad you like the rural highway, I spent like 2 or so hours on that one.2.gif  The building are a nice touch in the background though, right? 3.gif
@DragonAnime: I think so too, glad you like how I play the game! 4.gif
@Smarty218: Thanks, I'm glad it was worth the wait.
@Twenty20: I'm glad you liked it, thanks!
@CaptCity: I hoped you would like it, as you know, this city was a real pain making but it turned out well I think!
    @vilbe: Thank you!
@TRNSTN: Thanks!  I think the screens are on full resolution, but I'll see if I can make 'em better. 2.gif

Southern Passage 9th Stop: Sunny Ville
Like the name implies, this land is filled with ubundant sunshine and...err...a "ville" 3.gif (unlike to the north, check out The Northern Passage and you'll see what I mean).  It also serves as the base of a mountainous area.   Travel up Route-45 from the west or north and you come to a small mountain village.  Since the people here love the environement, not only did they plant a lot of trees and preserve many lakes, ponds, and streams they built...dare I say it...a damed hydroelectric/geothermal plant to power the 75,000+ citizens in the area.  And being health nuts for themselves as well, they had to build farms around here...

All courtesy of PEG's Stream/Pond Kit, Geothermal and Hydroelectic plants, and Jeronij's water effects/ploppable water mods (avaliable on the STEX for PEG and LEX for Jeronij's stuff)  You'll also notice the garbage around here disapearing into a black hole...yes that's Black Hole Waste Management by gshmails that you're seeing there
    Pic1.jpg

Route-45 Bridge between the power station and village
    Pic2.jpg

And the village itself, making up a few hundred of the tens upon thousands of people downstairs...
    Pic3.jpg

    Pic4.jpg

    Pic5.jpg

    Pic6.jpg

Don't think for a second that the water from that hydroelectric resevoir goes to waste.  It rushes down the mountain and by the farms, not only supplying an aesthetic appeal but also the local irrigation system...

Great work with all these themed areas - it was worth the waiting.

But even with ArckenbergJoe's great brick viaducts I still don't like that you led the railwaz over street/road/highway!

Take care (and don't forget to make backups!)

Wow... From cultural urban districts to scenic rural environments...

Love the shots of the tracks running by the waterways... Add a couple dirt roads... Reminds me of...(OK, enough nostalgia 2.gif)

Great work. Looking forward to more.

@Jaculina: Thanks very much my friend, glad to see you back after such a long time! 1.gif

@Smarty218: lol...glad you liked the bridge, the Sims use it at least so I'm not complaining. 9.gif

@Nardo69: Glad to see you here, I forget if you came by many months ago?  Anyways, anything in particular you don't like about the rail-over-road/avenue/highway?  Because in some spots, I really had no choice (it would seem weird having thousands of cars going 70+MPH and having to stop at a grade crossing).  Thanks for coming by though!

@CaptCity: Thanks for coming by again, I'm glad you liked the transfer, this CJ's been about mixing it up right from the start!9.gif

@super_monkey: Maybe your awesometer was turned off?3.gif  Glad you found it anyways! 2.gif

Southern Passage 10th Stop: Sunshine Valley

We're getting back into the urbs before you knows it...check out all the apartments!  There's also several lakes, a river t-intersect, and for the first time in a long time...a MAPP Amusement Park!  And you'll enjoy looking at the Atlanta/Portland/Detroit crossover downtown, were it extends to the shore with a cable-stayed bridge and airport on the other side.  And there's several recreational attractions, with a RHW and monorail system to get people going around...

Gotta get me one of those... (To use here, of course 2.gif)

Wonderful update, again. With all the sports facilities and pools, and the way you have the buildings lain out, made me think of some kind of Olympic Village (since tis the season).

And still love the tracks next to the waterways.

Question - I'd like to know what lot that row of parking where the two streams form a 'T' in the tenth or eleventh image is. It was a bit far away for me to make it out. And are we going to get to see your beaches in the daytime? 2.gif Thanks.
