Official: STEX Issues Thread

Hey guys,

I know there are some issues with downloads and searches on the STEX.

Downloads

This is a priority issue.

We are actively trying to resolve the download problem, the problem appears to be that the server is disconnecting some people's connections even before the download is complete.  This could be due to overwhelming connection requests, but again, we're trying to isolate the problem.

A temporary work around appears to be using download managers.  Some reports that it seems to help ensure the download is completed. 

Searches

I know the search has been crashing lately, this again is due to overwhelming queries which will crash the search engine process.  There is a solution that's being worked on and tested and we'll be rolling it out over the next week or so.

yeah i hope you solve the download problems aswell as i am the one or at least one

of the people telling everyone to try a download manager i really don't mind helping,

I've been trying to Download the BCS Mega Textures pack but it says its "LOCKED" also the textures in that pack single downloads seem to be locked as well. How come?? Is it because I'm a ***** or an issue with your servers?

Nothing wrong with you,, that file along with some others have been moved to sc4devotion.com, you must be registered there to download.

Hi, I'm a complete newb to this place, and I've just downloaded the skyfarm set among others, but when I place it in my city it's sort of wrapped up like a gift.... what am I doing wrong?

A Wal Mart Supercenter that I downloaded a while back became unbuildable when I deleted a picture file, so I looked on the STEX for a replacement. I couldn't find the supercenter, has it been removed?

I beleave that was bobbo662's wal-mart supercenter i think he had to remove

it & most of his files because they had problems he couldn't fix.

Those problems were not "unfixable", but Bobbo662's RL has kept him away from the community for a while.

There is a bug which is preventing us from deleting STEX files.

For some reason, when I click the "browse my uploads" button, none of my work shows up, and there should be about 9 files in there. Seems to have happened after I just uploaded; has this occured before or could my upload be corrupted or something?

EDIT: My stuff's back, except my last upload which I uploaded about and hour and a half ago.  I don't want to sound impatient, but how long do you think the "publishing cycles" usually take (or intervals between, for that matter)?

EDIT: Never mind, it's there now!
