Yeah. Great great. But another Hong Kong? Gosh, city so many time recreated that it's boring. What's next, Paris? Maybe you should recreate another Asian city, like Shanghai or Tokyo. With your skills, you would become a legend.

This CJ is way cool and way realistic. HK is a hard city to recreate. Keep up the good work. Also like Krio said different asian cities would be really sweet from you

Here's you're first proper look at Hong Kong Island! I'll start with the Bank of China with a backdrop of the Hong Kong botanical gardens. Yea, I know one of the buildings has the UK Flag on it but Hong Kong colonized by the British and was only handed back in '97 so it's realistic

    HKI2STm2.jpg

Here are some of the low-mid wealth areas near The Center tower. You can see the tram line in the center, which runs all the way along Hong Kong Island. Thank god for the new NAM pieces or else I would have had to put GLR in between two one way roads and that would take forever!

    HKI5ST.jpg

And a few of Hong Kong Islands other landmarks...Here we see the Lippo Towers, located just a little away from the Bank of China and the Botanical gardens.

This is a beautiful complex of buildings and hotels located between Central Plaza and the IFC Complex

    REPLIES

HYPED_UP_BOY:  Ah yes, I've showed off Tsim Sha Tsui and I'm working on Mong Kok for the updates after Hong Kong Island is done.

    TOMDAPOM:  Hey thanks mate!

    SEAHAWK FAN121:  Wow, thanks

    JOYSTICKJUNKIE:  Well thank you

KY72X:  Peh! You should see the size of my damn plugins folder! I have done this for you in the 2nd update. Thanks for commenting!

HIJODECORDDOBA:  Wow, thanks! I grew about 80% of what you see in the first update and plopped the rest but you have to have the demand to plop in the first place. Thanks for the complements!

DEEVER:  Oh, you wouldn't believe me how long it took me to get all the roads and highways and all the rest of it connected up and in their realistic place! I'm glad you noticed, thanks.

    SONELL:  Thanks mate!

    SIMFOX:  Thank you.

MIKE THE MAYOR:  Thanks! I'm glad you like the first update.

FROGFACE:  Hey thanks, I'm very glad you think that.

ASIANEVOLUSIONER:  Ha, this isn't even an eye candy CJ and I get those sorts of comments. Thanks for stopping by.

TOMMIEJ:  I think Disneyland is a bit out of reach but I'm going to do my best with Chep Lap Kok. Thanks for the nice comments!

TANKMANK:  Thanks, I'm glad you like it!

    AUTOVINO:  Thanks, that's the goal!

CLEANER475:  Wow! Thank you a lot. I hope the night pictures aren't too dark so I'm glad you liked them.

    ACEOFSPADES: Thanks!

TOMDAPOM:  I'm trying to show off my city building skills in this CJ and the pure eye candy goes to 4SCJ but I'm glad you like it! I just put it through a few photo filters in a photo editing program. Thanks for commenting!

HIJODECORDOBA:  Hey thanks a lot! When using dense residential I try and get them from street to road to avenue and if necessary hi-way and then back so it's more realistic. Each for their own really but that system works well for me.

SHADOW_ASSAIN:  Thanks mate! I'll have to look into this slope mod thing.

DEEVER:  Yea, I love construction sites because no real city in the world has no construction site somewhere.

BENEDICT:  Thanks mate! Yep it took a while alright...

    GSHMAILS:  Thanks!

    AUTOVINO:  Thanks, I will.

    TANKMANK:  Hey thanks again!

    ASIANEVOLUSIONER:  Yayayaya! Thanks for commenting!

HIJODECORDOBA: Yes, I have found that some of the airport pieces make great undercover walkways, markets and pieces for ferry and ship terminals too. Thanks for the nice comments.

PATRIOTS_1228:  No, you can't expect 100% of all the buildings to be from Hong Kong can you? Thanks mate.

BIXEL:  Hey Bixle, anything you make goes in this CJ no matter what! I'd love to have some more pencil towers and I'm sure they could help me out a lot with Mong Kok.

    ACEOFSPADES:  Thanks!

KRIO:  There are many reasons for me re-creating Hong Kong for a second time. And if you bother to look at 4SCJ you'll see that I've already done Paris, New York, A Euro city among others. Also I've been to Hong Kong and I live with someone who has lived there for a while so it's very easy for me to re-create. Not to mention all the custom content that comes with the city. I'm sorry if you find it boring, just have a look at my other CJ.

SKY_GUY:  Thanks mate, HK is a challenge, that's why I'm doing it again.

PAULVMONTFORT:  I couldn't agree more! Thanks for commenting.

    ---AFTER THIS UPDATE---

    SKY_GUY:  Thanks, I will!

SCIFIFAN68:  Thanks, I'm glad you like it!

    CRAZYYAYA:  Thanks.

EXPLODINGSIMS:  Wow, thanks. I'm glad you think so.

Hey everyone! Sorry for the lack of updates over the week... let's just say it takes a while to get all the ferries of Hong Kong in perfect working order.

In this update I'll be showing off the main parts of central:

Well, it took me most of the week but the IFC complex is finally done! The six piers that you see are the Hong Kong out-lying Island ferries; they are really the only way to get to some of Hong Kong's more remote Islands. The ferries behind this are the Hong Kong Star Ferry terminal. As you know the IFC tower 2 is the current tallest building in Hong Kong and the 6th tallest in the world at 88 stories (415m or 1362ft). It will be surpassed by the ICC3 tower in 2008/09. The picture below this is a closer look at the road network that surrounds the IFC complex.

    HKC1ST.jpg

    HKC3ST.jpg

Here are some of the HUGE apartments that are just west of the central district. The large green tower is called 'The Center Tower'. It has hundreds of neon lights on it that change colour at night, it looks amazing but unfortunately you can't do that in Sim City 4.

    HKC4ST.jpg

The Bank of China and HSBC towers at night. CLICK HERE TO SEE FULL IMAGE.

    HKC5ST.jpg

And here's the same area as in the last picture but from the angle that you'd see from Victoria peak.

    HKC6ST.jpg

And here I have a progress pic...umm I don't usually show pictures on un-finished areas in my CJ's but I think you all need to see a zoomed out version of Hong Kong Island so here you go. This also has a larger version so CLICK HERE to see that. As you can see the upcoming area is Eastern Hong Kong Island (The Central Plaza ect...) It will be the next update!

    HKC2ST.jpg

    A photoshoped version...

    Seeya's!

It looks amazing, but for more accuracy I suggest moving some of the buildings. The Lippo Centre is right across the street from the Bank of China tower. Also the only building between the Far East Finance Centre and the Lippo Centre is an MTR station. Pacific Place is on the same side of the same road as the Bank of China tower. Therefor I suggest moving it a bit more away from the coast. 2.gif

@ patriots_1228: If you want those buildings just search for my name in the Stex and they should pop up.

I've never seen those airport terminals used like that before. That's really original! And I'm glad we finally have a Hong Kong CJ that gets to the point. Others never really showed Hong Kong island until now.

Well now the area around the Central plaza is complete along with my take on the Hong Kong convention and exhibition center. This is the building epically built for the handover of Hong Kong to the Chinese in 1997. The building hasn't been BAT'd yet so I had to make do with the Shanghai Museum of Science & Tec but I think its kind of close. Here it is at Chinese New Year with all the fireworks that get let off in the harbor! Also a day and night pic.
