HONG KONG

Hi All! Welcome to my new CJ project.

As the name suggests it’s a CJ based in Hong Kong: It's actually my second attempt at re-creating the city but this one is much more realistic and is based around a whole region rather than just one city. Also this one is a full realistic re-creation (I've used Google Earth a lot), is realistically scaled and as a bonus I'll give information about real life Hong Kong after each re-creation picture. I've started on Kowloon city first so this will be the first update. My focus this time is not just around guess work so have a look!

Complex1ST.jpg

This is the area around the lower parts of the Kowloon peninsular. The huge residential towers with the construction towers are one of the major parts of the Kowloon skyline. They can be seen all the way from Hong Kong Island.

Complex2ST.jpg

Star Ferry! Once the main method of commute from Kowloon to Hong Kong Island. The building with the cruse ship next to it is called the Ocean Terminal, its Hong Kong's main cruse ship port.

Complex3ST.jpg

Kowloon Park- This is the huge park right in the center of the crowded residential district. It's alongside Nathan Road (the avenue) so it's very easy to spot the park in the huge jungle of skyscrapers!

Complex4ST.jpg

On the streets of Kowloon. Anyone wanna buy a fake Rolllex?

Complex5ST.jpg

Here's the massive construction site that houses some of the biggest residential towers in Hong Kong.

Complex7ST.jpg

At star ferry again. This is where hundreds of people crowd to watch the laser show from Hong Kong island every single night.

Complex8ST.jpg

And finally an overview of Kowloon City!

The next update will be on Hong Kong Island (Central) and the surrounding areas aswell as more of Kowloon and Tsim Sha Tsui. Because of the size of Hong Kong and all it's regions I expect this CJ could go on for a while,

Seeya's later! By the way 4SCJ is not dead because I have a new CJ okay, It just may be on hold for a while.

whoa! cool! you've really captured Kowloon! i was there in march. i'd actually really like to see more of kowloon, such as Mong Kok and Tsim Sha Tsui, as that area isn't really seen too much in the HK CJs. keep up the good work!

Excellent work! You have a nice variety of buildings, very good. I'd also like to see more of Kowloon - I see a lot of areas that would look stunning closer up. Keep it up!

this is fabulous!! the "work in progress" areas give your city a living note. this is gonna be a great cj. i like the Kowloon Park a lot and i'm overwhelmed by impressions 4.gif (i love such skylines)

may i ask... do you have the demand for all those residential, or are you plopping them?

fantistic new cj. keep it up

Awesome! The second to the last image shows a great road network.

The effects that you applied in your Four Seasons CJ which were also applied here are still amazing. Good luck with Hong Kong!

Well some of you asked to see some more of Kowloon (Tsim Sha Tsui area) in more detail so here you go:

Here's one of Tsim Sha Tsui's more built up residential areas. Along with one of the many construction sites that can bee seen. Of course the high way in the middle intersects with Nathan Road and eventually onto Star ferry.

    Complex9ST.jpg

    Complex10ST.jpg

And an overview of the area in the day time. Just above the picture is the start of Hong Kong Island. I've started that area but I'm not showing any pictures yet, that area is still a secret...

By the way, It looks alot better in it's full size so CLICK HERE to see that.

this looks so realistic. i wish i could say something more about that amazing city, but i'm out of words or critic. awesome

but i've another question. i always use avenues when it comes to more dense zoning, because i don't want the overcrowded roads and the pollution). are you don't care about that or do you steer the traffic to the mainroads?

great wok. if hong kong looks like that it must be paradise 4.gif

    Well, well.

This is most definitely one of the better HK recreations I've seen. Good job on Kowloon, it's really true to life.

One suggestion: grab yourself a slope mod, it'll allow for better, more realistic slopes. I realise parts of Hong Kong will be quite steep, but quite fun to build with a slope mod.

Stack em' up! That's Hong Kong for you.

The construction site looks great. It adds a realistic feel to the whole thing. You also have a beautiful waterfront.

I've never been to Hong Kong but, with this CJ, its like you already took me there.

Thanks for the replys everybody! I'll reply to you all later.

I've been working all morning on setting up Hong Kong Island so here's a sneek peak at what's so come. The is the International Finance Center complex, compleated in 2003. It houses IFC 1 (Smaller tower) and IFC 2 (Hong Kongs current tallest building). It's about 200m from the Hong Kong Island Star ferry terminal. I'm buiulding that now and when that's done with that along with the waterfront you'll be able to see the whole of Central!

interesting usage of the airport pieces. especially the long terminals alongside the residential buildings. i could imagine a typical market under the roofs. 4.gif

the glr is applied very well, too

I'm keen about the rest of the island
