Traffic Signs

I've been waiting for a post for days now then realized today that I prolly had this in the wrong forum.

Okay. Im looking to start taking a active part in the community and therefore have decided that I would like to create a series of traffic signs, much like Ja/atts on the STEX. However, instead of having them on a seperate lot with grass, I wanted to make them so there plopable on the side of roads/avenues/highways but transit enabled. I believe doing this would give a much more realistic feel to them and allow them to be used in citys without taking up any space.

Anyways, what program(s) would I need to try and do something like this. As I said I want the signs to look very realistic meaning that they would be super-clear and readable when zoomed in very close (but not maximum).

I have no experience in doing something like this but thought it would be cool and useful. Well...as eyecandy. I mean what major city doesn't have signs ? It would add to citys to be able to click a sign and place it where you wanted to.

The hard part is getting the signs. Once you got an image file, you drag and drop it from the asset browser in gmax. Signs are hard, because you have to make a real thin but 3d square. The programs to use are gmax and the lot editor. TRANSIT ENABLE I can tell you that if you take all the tollbooth lots in the lot editor, and you get rid of the props and building, you will need a blank building file to replace the tollbooth. Then after you get rid of that junk, or whatever, you place the prop next to it. The problem with signage is because even if you can scale it right in gmax, I don't know how, the image will be too pixelated by the time it works in the game because the engine.

There's a very simple Transit Enabler as part of the many awesome features of the SC4 Tool on Simszone.de. It allows you to transit enable any lot, for almost all types of traffic. Its what I use to transit enable my lots so I don't have to make a building blank

(I still use building blanks though).

Keep calm and take photographs.

There is a link to download SC4Tool is in Andreas Roth's signature here on ST, BAT is available from the official simcity website (simcity.com) click on the link on the left hand side of the page to get to the SC4 part. And Gmax is available for free from turbosquid (turbosquid.com, you will have to register)

The reason models are pixelated in the closest zoom on SC4 is because the game does not use a model and justs zooms in from the 2nd closest zoom (like if you zoom in on an image in paint it will become pixelated) whereas on the other zooms the game uses a model not an image.
