What SimCity Societies Needs

Options.  Loads and loads of options.  I don't see why SimCity Societies can't implement the things we love about the game... zones, micromanaging utilities, finances, departments, buildings, etc... and include different modes which will make SCS easy-to-use for newcomers.  A sandbox mode, toggle options for the features I mentioned and more.

I hope the game becomes something that's flexible... choosing what you want to do yourself or what you want the game to do automatically.

I don't get it either. You couldn't just have a tutorial level, like in SC4. This game really isn't that hard, the people who think it's hard give up way too quickly.

Yeah scs needs zoning and utilities! i would like to see a large Nuclear power plant, or a large waterplant, like the NOB stuff. Oh GOD i hope they include zoning, although scs might be able to do it, they probably wont.

You know what SCS needs. Less focus on society. I mean, aren't we all here to build cities? I couldn't give two s**ts for what social classes are in my city and what medial task they are doing. I don't even need to see my citizens, they can all be numbers on a demographics chart for all I care. STOP FOCUSSING ON THE SIMS. No one cares what they are doing down there? If I wanted to see what MY SIMS are doing, well, I'll just go buy the SIMS and all 40 expansion packs.

SCS needs a new name. Maybe something like "Sims in the city" so everyone will know it's not SimCity.

FFS.. this is like making a kids movie called Rambo: Something.

There was an "Urbz: Sims in the City". They can't take out zoning or power! That's been in there...since 1989! Taking those out would be like ripping the cheese and pepperoni off of a pizza.

~ COMING SOON! Exciting new projects! ~

Uh, guys. I don't think the point of this thread is to actually come up with one word for what you think Simcity Societies needs (though, The_Dalai_Llama can certainly correct me!). 3.gif I think the point of this thread is to discuss that the game needs options to do whatever, whether that be zoning, etc.

Agreed, I actually posted that on another board a couple of days ago.. there is no reason they can't have a hard mode, easy, medium mode.. with the "hard" mode being the SC we know and love. I don't mind the focus on the people, I'd prefer more focus on the real CITY BUILDING aspects before it though. If they don't have zoning, then I'm not buying it.. simple as that. I'm not plopping a bunch of buildings tediously.

Yup, I see no reason why they wouldn't be able to make three games to sell as one.21.gif

Micah's right.  This isn't a topic that can be replied in one word... those threads are for the forum games. 18.gif

This is about having the option to zone or plop, the option to have a power grid or not, etc.  That way, people that find the game difficult can play without sacrificing the needs of those who want that challenge.

I could see the opening menu of the city:

    City Name:

    City Size: (Could be custom)

    Starting Funds:

    Mayor Name:

    Enable Power Grid:

    Enable Water Grid:

    Enable Communication Grid:

    Enable Zoning:

    etc...

And whats with the road networks? 4 lane roads with 90 degree turns and stop signs? (thats realistic) Wheres our massive highways and interchanges, one ways, and quiet suburban streets? Wheres our rail lines, GLR/elevated rail, monorail ferry, airports, etc?

One word: Transport. This is one of the things that this game is really lacking.
