Hey, nice CJ - I like the town of Klundershaven especially. Your region looks nice.

    Page 3 already!!

@ oroen: Thank you! In my opinion curving roads are much more charming than straight ones. I live in an area with only straight roads, so I have seen enough of them :D

@ RadioheadFan: Great you like it! I hope you like the next update also.

@ mrbisonm: For small towns, it's my favourite. I think it fits in perfectly with the scenery in this CJ, I couldn't have found a better one.

@ lookinin: I'm getting the hang of the NAM mod, so that's a plus. But I still can't figure out how to fix those farms, it's just too much work for a $%&^! like me. Isn't there an easy install/patch/fix-up/handyman around for stuff like that?

@ jacqulina: I hope so, or this CJ will die an early end. I love to make cities and towns, but when it comes to the technical part of computers and programs, I can't get it done... I am ecstatic because I alreay got so far with the regular mods and all.

    Update # 6

This CJ is already a week old, time flies by when you're having fun!

Today we're looking at Knits and Kobilri, two very small villages, mainly built by farming, and since 1920, on industry and railroad.

    lemmers29mrt1vu.jpg

This is the small vilage of Knits. It started out on an intersection. People settled here, built there farms, and lived long and happy.

    lemmers11jul5fm.jpg

When the railway company built the railway line close to their town around 1900, and decided a roundhouse had to be built here, the town grew rapidly. Trains come here to be fixed, and maintenance workers need to live somewhere, isn't it?

    lemmers14jun7px.jpg

With the railway company, more industry came around at 1920. More people found work here, and Knits grew to it's current size.

    lemmers3sep9hj.jpg

Another village which has profited from the railway company, is Kobilri, located north of Knits. It eventually grew faster then Knits, because a school and a small clinic were already there at the beginning of 1900.

    lemmers3okt9ds.jpg

North of Kobilri you can find one of the very few hightech industrial companies in Lemmers. It's very well known around the region, if you work here you'll get paid big time.

    lemmers17okt5gk.jpg

That's it for today, I hope I can figure out what's wrong with the farms in the region, or else I'll have to go urban, but then at the same time this CJ isn't rural anymore. Look here tomorrow and find out!

Great update - looking really nice! If there is anything specific I might be able to help with, feel free to PM me. I'd be happy to help you get your farms going if I can.

@ lookinin: Thank you, I think your help could be needed. My problem is simply that my downloaded farms (around 15) almost don't show up. And if there are a few who show up they just don't show up correctly. Most of the times the house or a few props are missing. I thought I had downloaded the most important ones, but almost every farm has about 10 dependancies. Isn't there a mega pack with all the props and stuff around? I can't continue building a nice region without it...

@ aleking: Thanks to you too, comments are much appreciated!

@ jacqulina: Thanks again, it's cool to see some people regularly see if there are some updates!

@ aasim45: Thanks, I might include some nightshots in the next update, I think it's a great idea!

@ RadioheadFan: The roundhouse is not really functional, but it's real good eye candy. Credits for the roundhouse should go to Oppie, who BATted it. It should be somewhere at the STEX.

@ SC4 meister and everybody else: Thank you for reading, I hope to get a new update ready for today, but after that it could get quiet here. I'll be having exams from tomorrow till the 1st of june, so I might don't have time to keep things updated over here. I think the next update will be some kind of building profile edition, something like we have seen at Radioheadfan's 'Life on an airplane'. I will include nightshots with those.

Everybody, again thanks for reading! Stay tuned!

I like the sporadic tree placement. I tend to go crazy sprinkling god mode trees all over the place. Also, to make another comment on your roads (as I do), I like that you use the roads as major routes between the villages, intersecting them at the center of town. Gives a feeling of distinctness to each individual village and typical of what one sees driving along rural roads.

Three pages in such a short time is quite impressive! 44.gif

    ...short stop between exams...

@ sloppet: Thanks, I'll continue as soon as I have more time

@ oroen: That's so great about Cycledog's tree mod. If you don't put all of the trees in the folder you get that sporadical placement. Ofcourse you need some height differences, but it works great for me. It did took some nerves to get it installed though...

I'm sorry for not being around very much, but exams are pretty time consuming. Everything is going well, and I expect to pass without a doubt. I hope I can show you all the next update after the weekend, ok?

I hope you will enjoy these pictures!

This is one of the newest lighthouses, built for the safety of the ships, mainly yachts.

    lemmers15okt4xq.jpg

Here you can see a night shot of the refinery plant. Even at 2 AM there is work going on...

    lemmers26aug0ab.jpg

This town lays peacefull at the top of the hill.
The St Jansbrug (St Jansbridge) is also lit at night, so ships don't crash into it.

    lemmers8aug8um.jpg

I also noticed some of the downloaded stuff don't show up their light at night. Have to fix that later...

Keep it up, you're doing great 44.gif (het klinkt gewoon vele beter in het engels 2.gif

@ Lookinin: Yeah, it's great, and they are'nt slowing my game down! You'll see them in the next update!

@ Joaquin: Thank you, I am very glad you like my cities. It's all just a matter of practice and do whatever you like. Custom made buildings and additions also do the trick. I don't know if there is some kind of guide on making these things, but again, it's all about letting your imagination work, that's what is important!

    @ jacqulina Thank you!

Everyone stay tuned, I'll have an update for you very soon!

@ Sc4_cewl: Thank you! I've always tried to recreate to feel other CJ's have, but it never worked out! I am very glad you like this 'own' feel.

@ jacqulina: that's great, I hope you like the next update!

@ SC4 meister: Soon is now, my friend!

@ Simworld 056132: Don't feel ashamed because I should. I have kept you waiting too long for the next update!

    Update # 7

Today we are leaving the Lemmer area, and are heading north, at the east shores. Vienel is very small, but you'll like it.

    vienel29jun7mi.jpg

It only has 200 inhabitants, but much of history. In past centuries, it was one of the (very few) trading routes over land. Untill the 50's it didn't have a harbour, but since tourism this has changed.

    vienel17apr0oy.jpg

    Next picture: 'Downtown' Vienel 44.gif

    vienel17apr29db.jpg

Most of the people used to work at the old gravel pit, which is unused now.

    vienel17apr34yp.jpg

Due to it's beautifull landscape, a hotel was built, and now most of the people work here.

Edit: This hotel can't be seen on the aerial shot, but it's located at the intersection that leads to the village.

    vienel16feb9tx.jpg

Personally, if I had a 2nd house, I would build it right here in the village. I hope you liked it, and to see you at the next update!
