If he is being 100% honest with what he is saying, then I think it is safe to say that many, many people will be disappointed...

I know this probably belongs in the Simcity 5 topic, however I just came across this and was very frustrated over the comments, and felt that they needed their own thread...

the thing is they seem to be ignoring us - the biggest SC fansite on the net and they are ignorin gus? If everyone one of uas bought SC5thats a whole lot of money so making the game like we want it would be a much better idea thatn ignoring us - they suck anyway there games are good but they don'tknow how to handle simcity 5 - I'll wait for the trailer before I get angry - if its like City Life then Maxis will be sorry.

This was posted. It is one of the few possitive posts regard the new game maker.

Don't let the concept art form your impression of the new game While I'm not a big fan of Sim City I do trust TM to put their own twist on the game. It will be an exciting and fun game when they finish while still being true to the orginial So hold on to your seats it's going to be fun ride.

If Sim City players want things now is the time to speakup with suggestions while there is still time to add things or make changes TM does listen to the fan base!

If the game sucks, I URGE Simtropolis to boycott it. That would be awesome. We'd be preserving such a wonderful game/fan base and would still be able to add to the game until Maxis (can hopefully) get the game back.

I am partially basing this on past game experiences with TM, and there is nothing that has convinced me yet that they can do a good job with continuing the Simcity franchise the way it should be continued. And by the way, I posted in that topic under the name Simcityfan25, and so we will see what Chris has to say about the community reactions

I think the major point here is that it is clearly NOT simcity. It will become the new simsville (which was originally a cross between the sims and simcity 3000 but maxis abandoned it), only the difference will be that it will probably be released. Saying that, it's only June, so still they have 6 months to do even just a small adjustment to make it like the old versions a little. I doubt they will but whatever.

Well, I'm a guy that likes to take a cautious approach when hearing previews of game sequels. Wait & see. But this guy's somewhat arrogant & callous attitude makes me think this franchise is on its last legs, save simtropolis & other fansites. What you guys have accomplished here made this game playable despite EA & now TM's attempt @ gaming suicide. How can you ignore the people who made this franchise what it is?

I feel that if SCS doesnt pan out, that there are still so many more things that we can do with Simcity 4, its scary almost...you guys are talented enough, and we have done so many great things, but i feel that we are still scratching the surface with the potential of simcity 4...what Chris said about SCS discouraged me very much, to the point of where I probably will not be buying SCS...back to SC4 it is!

If this is true, then we may have a problem. Everybody went nuts over the screenie, but we had little to go on. If SimCity 5/Societies... or whatever... is not a city-building simulation like the previous games, then we have something to complain about and I won't buy it.

I see Tilted Mill as being kind of innocent here - they're just doing what they're told to do. EA is being the capitalist here, obsessed with money and immediate profit margins, caring less about what their fans want. All they really seem to be good for is putting out those sports games every year, and at this point there doesn't even seem to be a difference with those from year to year anyway...

The big screw up started with SC4's glitches... Maxis should have never dissolved like this

SC, what does that stand for? The answer, SimCity. If we break that down we get the words Sim, an abbreviation of simulation; and the word city, meaning an urban area. If this isn't going to be a realistic game simulation, then why call it SimCity.

I could fully understand if they just made this new game and called it a different name, even if they announced that they would not be making a new SimCity, but this just seems that they are trying to make money using the name.

They probably mean that it will have less emphasis on the city building aspect, and more on "something else" (whatever that is)

I'm willing to bet that in some way shape or form, it will integrate with Spore, or The Sims, or both. This is definitely going to be a cross-marketing tool to make more money. Just when you thought nothing could be more ridiculous than the Sims with it's insane number of high priced expansion packs.

Ok, why blame Tm if they are doing what they were told, they even said, they are accepting suggestions and ideas. Simcity Societies isn't what I had expected but still, it is under development, we can make suggestions.

Tilted Mill is proud to work on Simcity 5/Societies, it is not their fault, and they are doing what they can and Maxis and TM are not the same company so they have diffrent point of views etc. EA should be boycotted and not TM. And BTW some comments on the TM site are very rude, they are giving us a bad reputation. I said we should post ideas instead of complaining.
