Sounds interesting.... just as I would expect.

Shall I lay wagers on the fighting yet? 2-1 on a successful slaughter!

Jayo- Thanks! I use Photoshop CS... just CS... i find CS2 too jumpy and CS3... well, they TOTALLY screwed up the interface and I hate it...

Anywho... the Grimey effect is just a combination of filters... Photoshoping a picture is merely experimenting and being lucky... even for somebody like me who's been using it for 3 years and has a diploma in Graphic Design, I still don't know or understand what the hell i'm doing, lol.

Anyway... a few quick teaser's here... [Oh how I spoil you]

Stalin is reduced to a comical figure on the front of a State owned Supermarket titled 'UNCLE JOES SURPLUS FOODS!'

This perpetuates Premier Uri Buriya's view that Stalin was the beginning of the end for the USSR and should be mocked thusly... while he's dead.

    teaser1.jpg

The completion of Radonnanova has meant the completion of the first chapter in this new 'millitaristic' Sakhaliyan attitude

    teaser2.jpg

Along with the odd hidden Radar dome in the thick Sakhaliyan mountain Forests

    teaser3.jpg

    Some very thick forests indeed...

    teaser4.jpg

    I'll update soon enough

the sickly forests makes me think of Norilsk, where the nickel smelter killed off every tree in a 19 mile radius of the city...

Great update! Love the radar! Actually did you modify the military docks, as I think that ship is a real russian one 2.gif Radonnanova looks really nice. She is great! 4.gif

I would need that sovremenniy class destroyer (am I right?)

Edit: hell you did modify that dry dock! I just discovered the cyrillic texts! And the other lots are great too. I would spend my money at uncle Joe's ... sorry, my rations.. 2.gif

You should make an update about how great place Sakhaliya is! It must beat those North Koreans. 4.gif

Good ol' Liberty Islands! Someday, I'll repost my old CJ.

UPDATE - RADONNANOVA- GATEWAY TO THE OCEANS

Dobry Den my Comrades!  Sakhaliya is in the midst of a shocking Economic boom at the moment, the completion and opening of Radonnanova has brought unpresedented attention from oversea's investors... yet, as to not give in to the vulturous Capitalists just yet, any over sea's Corporation who wishes to out-source factories here must adhere to the Sakhaliyan trading code wich cite's that 'all Out-Sourced Factories must be appointed a Head Comissar to run all Sakhaliyan operations of the Companies interests'

    radonnanova6.jpg

Radonnanova is Sakhaliya's one and only (at time of writing) Shipping and Naval Dockyard. Situated at the lower end of Sakhaliya, It plays a major part in the Economics and the Defence of the country, although, the town itself is small with a Population of only 40,000. Due to the lack of land in the hills of Radonnanova, most Industry is situated in the neighbouring towns of Byernosk 1 and 2 wich I'll come to later. The Industry that IS situated on the Docks however are Goverment ran facilities that produce Vehicles, Electronics and Ships, most of wich end up on boats to the rest of the World within hours of production.

    radonnanova5.jpg

The millitary presence in Radonnanova can be felt even in the hills as hidden Radar Domes and Missile Battery's constantly scan the heavens for threats. Each City in Sakhaliya has a large millitary and Armed presence, in Radonnanova alone 25% (10,000) of the Population works either with the Army [The Red Fist], Navy [The Red Neptune] or Intelligence [The Red Nerve]. Also part of the Army is the Airforce [The Red Pheonix] but at the moment, all that consists of is a collection of 100 or so battered Russian Mi-24 Hinds and Ka-65 Kamovs stationed at various points around Sakhaliya.

    radonnanova2.jpg

The Red Neptune consists of 1 'Kotlin Class' Destroyer, 1 'Sovremenniy Class' Destroyer, 4 'Neustrashimy Class' Frigates, 3 'B-39' Attack Submarines and 1 'Delta II' Ballistic Missile Submarine [Cruise Missiles at the moment, nothing Nuclear, although, it is equipt to deliver a Nuclear payload]. Shown here is the 3 'B-39's' taking a rest from Patrolling the Shoreline, while the Delta II is hidden in a SubPen elsewhere out of the prying eyes of the Public.

    radonnanova7.jpg

The Governing office of Radonnanova is iconically in the centre of the town. As in most Citys in Sakhaliya, the office is called the 'Comrades Hall', its is where the Governing and most important Comissars of the Town deliberate over improvements to the services and infrastructure.

    radonnanova1.jpg

To keep up with all these really tiring and unhelpful UN resolutions, Sakhaliya has to keep its waste dumping and Water pollution levels down dramatically. Since the Siberian meltdown, the UN has been exceptionally harsh on us down to the fact we want to build a Nuclear Plant of our own in order to keep up with the power demand. To show we're as kind to the enviroment as you can be when everybody throws their out-sourced pollutants our way, we've had to keep the Shoreline Sparkling and free of 'Radioactive' substances wich has meant a massive amount of spending on 'Western' means of Water purification... this cost Radonnanova 30% of its yearly budget but it seems to have done the trick. The benefits will outweigh the costs when we're running on the good old glow-in-the-dark.

    radonnanova4.jpg

Anyway, that was pretty long winded and boring. Next time, I'll probably have some shots of the wonderous Byernosk 1 and 2 on the outskirts of Khabarovsk.

    Dasvidanya!

    personalreplies.jpg

Connorc24- Yep, I bat my own stuff... I'm glad to be in the USCN too btw, I should have my thread up soo (it means putting a HELL of alot of images together to get some people up to speed on Sakhaliya and the way it works)

Penguin007- Argh, the forests are a nightmare. I would have had more pictures in this update but Byernosk 1 and 2 is just a mess... I deforested the whole map and now I have to plant all the tree's manually 24.gif

Jacqulina- Thank you! As I said to Penguin, the tree's are a nightmare to get right.

Schulmanator- Yep, like the curiosity that has appeared in a Cats mind, it is very tempting...48.gif

Glenni- I know, its kinda disturbing... it must be like living next door to scrapyard 3.gif

Suplado!- Yep, the colours are to make it look a little colder. In Siberia, I used brown... it made the place look murky but not cold...

Godzillaman- I had to lot that myself since all the SNM Navy lots seems to lack nearly... everything dependancy wise. Nice to see somebody doesn't complain, unlike some people *cough*justintime*cough*... rofl.

Zelgadis- Yargh, Stal-Mart, their arch rivals! 27.gif

Koekie01- And I have more! Its not much, more writing than pic's in essence but I need to line out the story somehow 48.gif

Giligonov!- Come back and give us more Nemonos! The solar plant means the Radar Station can still run on backup power if there's a war on and the Waterfront gets bombed... thats where the Power Plant is.

KingTitan- Had to lot that, took me a while but I think it works well 48.gif

Bokrif- I'm not sure to be honest, but what ever class that Ship is, its a

Sovremenniy Class Destroyer now!... I added it to my list of Ships for the Red Neptune. And yeah, I did modify that Dry Dock, I was missing pretty much all the Dependancies from the original lot but I fixed that because I felt the Dry Dock model was too good to waste.
