I am having problems getting the SC 4 Terraformer to run.  I download the zip file from Omnibus.  I unzip the contents and open the resulting folder.  Here are the contents of the folder:

Open.jpg

I click on the SC4Terraformer icon and the this pops up:

Open2.jpg

Open3.jpg

So my question is, am I doing this right and using this right?  If not, how do I use it?

Maybe you can follow what the the message box says, ie

DirectX can't be loaded

Maybe there is another application that use DirectX

if it is not the case, check the readme.html for more information

Sorry about that just misunderstood some stuff.  OK, I finally modified some landscape of a region but when I go to play the game it looks like this:

    Problem.jpg

Is there any way to fix this problem?

maybe if you make region go boom, uninstall sc4terraformer, and make a region by hand, that might work, or that would be my way3.gif

    And what is wrong ?

The colors are normal, until you enter a city and saved it

Oh, and make sure you do not check the 'show transit' in SC4 region view

I am trying to use this program, but there is always an error. When I click on the Terraformer icon, I get a message that says that there is an error and I need to check the log. The log says:

    Traceback (most recent call last):

    File "SC4Terraformer.py", line 1, in ?

    File "zipextimporter.pyo", line 78, in load_module

    File "SC4TerraformerApp.pyo", line 3, in ?

    File "zipextimporter.pyo", line 91, in load_module

    ImportError: MemoryLoadLibrary failed loading tools3D.pyd

I don't know what this means. Could someone please help me to make this work?

    My friend:

when you open a region in terraformer, you save it....try to find out where you saved the region....in my case it has been saved in the same folder as terraformer so I have to move the files to the SC4 folder.

What I do is to copy the jpg and config files to a folder in SC4 under my documents and open taht region in terraformer.

    Maybe that can help you.

    take care.

Please consult the OmniMaps -- Mapping and Terraforming Information section of the Simtropolis Omnibus.  You'll find some good artilces there that should answer your question including the following:

Installing a Map Created by SC4Terraformer

If you have any questions, please let me know.

    Regards,

    Vandy

    Three words:

    UPDATE DIRECT X!

You guys are all probably running what SC4 requires (DX 8? 7?) SC4T requires 9.0c, which didn't even come out until a couple years after SC4's release, This may also explain the textures problem that Jakz is experiencing. That, and, ALWAYS keep your graphics drivers up to date. To the extent of my (limited) knowledge, one of those two solutions SHOULD work.

Check to see if you have this file:

    c:\windows\system32\d3dx9_30.dll

If not then go to the DirectX Update [link] site and update.

Please don't bump old threads, and please don't sextuple post. But to answer your question, you click extract all files and follow the instructions on screen.

Check the filename carefully - msvcp71.dll  NOT msvcr71.dll (which is already in the download)

I know this thread is old but if anyone ever gets this issue with SC4 Terra forma:

I have fixed the prob... I had the file msvcp71.dll already installed also but you have to make sure it is in the right place!! I copied it from C:\Windows\System32 where I was told to download it and placed it in the same place as SC4 Terraforma's exe file. Now it loads no problem :-).

Its strange because SC4 Terra forma works on my Laptop without any hassle or this driver but on my new PC it was a real A***lol.
