Requesting Highway On/Offramp Piece's

The Highway On and Exit ramps in both NAM and SC4 are rather... unrealstic.  No traffic lights,  You can't make single ramps, where as in Atlanta and on Toll Roads there are several ramps that have no return access but you cannot do this in SC4 as you have to plop down an entire junction, and also both ramps are too short to be Interstate Grade... The NAM's Single Highway Ramp to Oneway road Exit / Entrance gives you some more versatality but it looks very unrealistic unless you're merging them into a frontage road because the ramp MERGES into an exsisting road rather than BECOMING the road...

I believe a single puzzle peace would allow FAR smoother / better / realistic freeway junctions... I'm requesting and offramp and onramp piece like this... t637701_HighwayOfframpOnramp.JPG

Red = Connection between Ramp / Oneway

Grey = Highway

Black = Oneway

That would make Interchanges like this more realistic and versatile...

t637702_PossibleInterchange.JPG

and also I'd like to request a cloverleaf exit / entrance for a Highway to Avenue and Avenue to Avenue as many Avenue's in Atlanta do have freeway style junctions without becoming an actual freeway...

You're in luck... one part of the RHW project is very customizable ramps/interchanges. Check out the RHW thread for all sorts of info.

There is already a highway exit like the one you mentioned in the NAM. Also you can plop single ramps, also available in the NAM. Traffic lights aren't normally found on highways or on the ramps, at least in the UK, as it would defeat the point in a highway.

Need4Camaro, the Maxis ramps are actually interstate grade, because here in Austin in some spots the ramps on I-35 are that short. 2.gif

warrior, I think he's talking about the ground highway on/off ramps done in that style... currently only the elevated highway has that type of piece.

    Warrior, there is a piece that only MERGES into the oneway road, as in there's a spot of the oneway road thats BEHIND the actual ramp and it looks very unrealistic... and I'm not talking about traffic lights on the HIGHWAY, I'm talking about traffic lights on the RAMP / Road intersection, which are very necessary in urban congested interesections... infact in Atlanta you'll have to be ATLEAST 50 miles from downtown before you start seeing stopsigns at the intersection of highway exit ramps and roads...

    DFire... I do understand that many highways have very short ramps however if you look at newer interstates or even freeways in general, ramps are becoming very long and smooth to allow better traffic flow between the exit and street... and in the country where there's higher speed limits and more space, the ramps are VERY long... or atleast in GA

    What is the likely hood of this piece in particular showing up for the ground highway in the next Rural Highway upgrade?

    Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think there are the ramps for ground highways that turn into a road/one-way. They are only there for El Highways.

    Example:

    H=Highway

    R=Ramp

    S=Road/Oneway

    -=Grass

    ---HH---

    ---HH---

    --RHHR--

    --RHHR--

    --SHHS--

    I would like to use it for overpasses when I have a sunken highway

    I dunno. Using two-way Roads and RHW and that exit I mentioned...It would be AWESOME!

    Oh yes, now I need to post a way to get back ON the highway.

    for the life of me, I could never understand why they included such strange looking offramps in this game, I've wanted a replacement one badly. I hate that stupid little cul-de-sac it creates!

    there are virtually no frontage roads where I live, which is why it looks so strange and impractical to me. One thing I wish they made more use of are those thin one-way offramps that you see in the interchanges.

    To everyone here with a request:

    If you forward these requests to the NAM: Requests thread then you may be able to get better feedback from the modders who regularly check that "official" thread
