I really hope the Pens make some noise in the playoffs. San Jose had best go to the second round as well. And Detroit had best get a jump on the Flames early. So many of these series' are so close though..

I was at GM Place watching the game last night!  Luongo made some great play, for his first playoff game.  With four overtimes, I arrived home very late from the game.  If they take more teams in more games, they might as well go for the Stanley Cup this year!!!  If you read this article, you see Roberto Luongo gained some fame that night.  Oh and btw here's the recap.  Saying this because I'm just about Simtropolis' biggest Canucks fan...

I guess the Thirsty one(one more year of hearing it thanks alot Lou and the Islanders) might as well post my usuall Playoff Perdictions they used to be part of HockeyBuzz.com but since somethings went on there I don't (or haven't) Pubically posted them over the net till now(Simtrop Exclusive)

Sabers VS NY Islanders 4-2(Isles will still have some momentum but tha'll only get them so far) 

Devils vs. Lightning 4-1(Broduer and the Devils will get by easily as the Bolts don't have solid goaltending)

Thrashers vs. Rangers 2-4 (King Henrik and the Broadway show will ruin the Hotlanta Playoff Party)

Senators vs. Penguins 4-3(Crosby Will be the story here but the Sens Goaltending and Deadly offensive punch will carry over the Pens but this is the start of another dominant Franchise.Think Oilers)   

West

 

Wings vs Flames 3-4(The Wings Struggled against the Western Canadian Teams and as the Flames play a higher Uptempo Style and are a Physical Team the Wings can't handle grit as they are lacking it) 

Duck vs Wild 4-3(These two are ridiculously even and the Dynamic Duo of Giggy and Brizzy in the Pipes will carry the Ducks over the Wild) 

Canucks vs. Stars 4-2(The Overtime last night proved it)(The Cancks will ride Luongo as he gains that Playoff Mystic that he had been missing for so long unfortunatly Turco will get the blame and probally be railroaded out of Dallas) 

Predators vs. Sharks 4-3( The West is full of insane matchups and this one is another one Hockeytonk will reign supreme as Forsberg and Kariya will help lead the team with thier experience)

as for the other rounds(based off my Predictions)

East

Sabres vs. Rangers 4-2

Devils vs. Senators 3-4

West

Ducks vs. Flames 4-2

Canucks vs. Predators 4-3

East Conf. Final

Sabres vs. Senators 4-3

West Conf. Final

Ducks vs. Canucks 2-4

Stanley Cup Final

now for somebackup to my predictions. Last season I had the Oilers beating Detroit in 7(I was off by a game) and my Final last year was Buffalo and Calgary(Well I had an Alberta team in the Finals)So far I'm pretty close and if not spot on on getting some of the Upsets.We'll see how they pan out.

Honestly i predict a devils ducks playoff rematch with the devils winning in game 7. I also dont think ott will beat the pens in their matchup. I also think the ducks will be the team that removes the canucks from the playoffs.

haha unfortunately, I think the ducks might take the series from the wild....although I'd go off my rocker if the wild actually came away with it. The wild are an awesome team this year...unfortunately there are some GREAT teams this year

The Pens are going to defeat the Senators this round.  This was the first playoff game ever for over 50% of the Pens, and it's going to make them stronger.  I have faith in my Pens.

As much as I love the Pens, this is exactly why I don't think they'll make it past the first round. However, I do see the Pens being a major force in 3 or 4 years down the road. They've got nearly all the pieces to the puzzle in place, all they need now is time and experience.

See I was happy this year to not be Biased or influanced this year with my Predictions as my team was eliminated by a Shootout win on the Final Day of the Season in all honesty I'd love to see Calgary Take it but I don't think they have the Ammo to make it past the Second Round.

Football_fever-I really think anyteam out of the west could do it if you look at with the exception of Buffalo and NJ the top 7 Seeds in the West have more or around as many Points as the top 2 or 3 seeds in the East. I think the Winner of the West will truly be a worthy winner of the cup to have survived the War of the West.

2GA-Loss in OT Made some great Saves Vancouver coulda easily scored more than 2

2GA-Loss Made some great saves again and only one mental mistake

You know what drives me nuts is when people instantly say it's the GOALTENDING as to why thier lossing a series did you ever think that maybe the other tem is playing just a hair better or even better yet the Other Goalie is standing on his head(Luongo s a tough match up for any team and turco is doing the best that can be expected)

I personally would look to Blame teh Rest of the Team for not stepping up in the Playpffs when it's needed(where's Modano? 1 assit in 4 games hardly an effort from a Star)

It's funny how Wings Fans seem to forget the choke jobs in Calgary,Edmonton,Anaheim and Living here in Detroit Hearing how good thier team is. Funny if you dare root for another team a Wings fan will point out that your team is Sh.. and thiers is teh best(MOney may make that but Salary Cap will help decline that a Bought Cup in 02 and a major Choke job by the Wings is bound to be soon)

Now I was shocked by how bad Calgary Played the Wings played good but not great the reason Detroit took a 2-0 lead was poor play by Calgary coupled with a Wings team that did what it took.
