Definitely. There is finally some real excitement instead of a careful game of chess.

Woo we now have a lead. It just kind of trickled in there. Go Linden! Dallas has there work cut out for them now with just 12:00 to go.

Edit: And Luongo just saved the day!

Ahh it was a wild last few minutes (I mean before the goalie was pulled). Great news for the crowd up North. Means there is a Canadian team to watch in the West in the next round. Now I just have to cross my fingers for a Vancouver vs Ottawa final 4.gif

The nucks played great same with the Stars but they took too many penalty's and suffered because of it.

    Go nucks, and sens.

Glad to see you say that Easy Bakes Turco played great it was a shame to see him get the series loss on the other hand I guess we'd be saying the same if Luongo Lost the series

I'll be posting me Updated Predictions Tommorrow Afternoon Before the start of the Second Round( I was only wrong on 2 Series ( and off on the games but hey you ca't be perfect))

They only got into the semifinals is because they stumbled over a falling Flames team. Detroit should have beaten that team in 4..

In any case, glad to see two Canadian teams left. Hopefully one of them makes it on to the Finals. 3.gif

Look, at least they didn't get taken out by Edmonton. Man was that embarassing. I think the team is finally gelling.. I just hope Holmstrom's o.k.

Ok The Canuck Predictions 2nd Round Edition

First off I post these based off of a few factors( I used to do Hockey analasis for a few places)

1.I use the Head to head matchups and how they played against each other

2.Momentum(How well they are playinga t the moment)

3.Playing Styles(Team A plays an Uptempo style while Team B plays a Trap)

    4.Big Players Showing Up

5.Gut Feelings(sometimes it never steers me wrong)

Round 1(6 of 8 on Series Winners)

ok with that said Round 2

    Eastern Confrence Semi-Finals

Buffalo Sabres vs. New York Rangers-4-2(Talk about an Easy Travel Schedule Buffalo has to Travel Down to the NYC Area For teh Second Straight Series. With that said King Henrik and the Broadway Show will steal a couple GAmes but in the End the Fastest team in the NHL will light up Broadway and Miller will steal the Show)

New Jersey Devils vs. Ottawa Senitors-4-3(This one will be quite the Series with all the Big Guns on Ottawa running into probally  this Era's Deadliest Goaltender Martin Broduer. Broduer will be the X Factor in this one as he will help the Devils Get on to the Next  round)

    Western Confrence Semi-Finals

Detroit Red Wings vs. San Jose Sharks-2-4(Expect a Huge Effort from Joe Thorton in this one and with the two headed Monster in the Pipes known as Naboskala The Sharks have the Keys to make Life for the Wings very difficult. Hasek struggled at times against Calgary and I don't see him pulling out of this slump)

Anaheim Ducks vs. Vancouver Canucks-3-4(This one will probally be the best series of the Second Round Great Goaltenders Galore Luongo,Giguere,Bryzgalov This one will be a low Scoring affair. Anaheim's Defense versus Vancouver's Offense who will prevail?)

    Ok so off those

    Eastern Confrence Finals

    Buffalo vs. New Jersey 4-2

    Western Confrence Finals

    Vancouver vs. San Jose 4-2

    Stanley Cup Finals

    Buffalo vs. Vancouver 2-4

Losing to the team that went on to finish the year at Game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals, without their starting goalie for the finals? That's a very respectable loss. I would have been a lot more angry, in your case, if the Oilers ended up bowing out against San Jose, in 4.

canuck: I tend to think that the Anaheim-Vancouver series will be defence vs. defence once again... rather like the Vancouver-Dallas series

Beebs- I could easily see that as well as I noted a low scoring series It will be one hell of a series i think

schm0-Much like beebs said Your team lost to the Western Confrence Champions and not too mention you pushed it to 6(and as I said last year I really didn't think the Wings would make it far since the had Legace in the pipes)

Frigid-It doesn't sound that weird Nabokov,Toskala are good goalies,Thorton,Chechoo,Marleau,etc... The Sharks are a good club

If the Rangers don't learn how to defend against Buffalo's speed without taking penalties, they'll be done in four or five games.  Personally, I think Lundqvist will steal the Rangers a couple of games.  I see Buffalo advancing in six games.

Buffalos Speed is a killer look at last nights game for what that speed did to the Rangers Defense Hey Ryan what's up with Buffalo doing the Canadian Anthem even though they're not playing a Canadian Team? I think thats the Only American Team to play both no matter what

and as to What Anaheim did to Vancouver well that was quite the offensive show by them I think Vancouver will be alot better in Game 2 From what I understand is they traveled late and were still somewhat tired after the trip typical NHL Scheduling When you have Detroit/San Jose waiting here in Detroit you make the Team who just played Game 7 play first.

Not to mention that Vancouver had just finished offing Dallas just 48 hours earlier. They weren't rested and it definitely showed.

Perhaps their recent defeat will sway you to the red team. 4.gif

And the Ducks are next, as they got spanked like a red-headed stepchild last night, 5-nil. Expect more from the Yzy-less Wings, and see you in the Finals!

Sorry schm0 I don't jump wagons(unlike alot of Detroiters) I truley Hate the Red Wings I haven't really cared for them since the 1990's and even then I didn't like them I had more respect for the orginization back then nowadays not so much Some moves they have made in the past few years the way they turned themselves into the Yankees to buy a Cup in 02 and so on Just soured me as a whole on the team Now on the Flip side to that if they play Ottawa in the Finals I'll have a problem here cause the Leaf Fan within me will not allow me to want the Sens to do anything so in that instance I'll probally Watch and hope Detroit Wins for the City not for the Red Wings I have more pride for the City of DEtroit not for the Team.

I do however give Detroit Credit I didn't have them making it out of the First Round and they have really done some things as a Team thata they have never done before so Hats off to doing what they needed to do and making it to the Threshold of the Finals I still however hope for an Anaheim Comback

If you don't like Detroit, then wouldn't that mean that you jumped wagons? I've cheered for the Red Wings, and no other hockey team, since I can remember. Yzerman and Bowman on staff? Ilitch as an owner? This Detroit club has consistently made the playoffs and been a presence in the NHL since the early 90's... what more can you ask for? Especially coming off the drought they did...? You sound like a disgruntled Lions fan! hehehe All I can say is the boys have stepped it up and I'm really liking the hockey they're playing, especially from Hasek.

    Go Wings!

No you see I never was a Wings FAN I've always been a Leafs fan so I never was on the Wagonb to have jumped off of it and especially wouldn't be jumping on the WagonI used to watch them with my dad since he was a Wings fan now as for the whole Wagon thingie you can root for a team and not be a fan innevitably when your watching a game your gonna want to see an outcome your going to want one of those two to win so If the Sens and Wings play in the Finals out of pure hatred for the Sens I'd rather see the Wings win but in that same tone the more arrogance and "oh your not a wings fan what team do you like....oh that team is s#@%!" sentiment then I'll just grow to dilike the Wings even more

you seem to have missed the whole CARED FOR THEM SINCE THE 1990's- CAring for a team and being a fan is two different things I used to want to see if they were going to win and have alot more respect for the team but in the time since then I've met the Management of the team I've met some of the players(current and Former) and some of the things I've heard just showed me(coupled with alot of arrogant Fans) why I was never a FAN of the WINGS

so now Wagon jumping hardly I'm not running out to the store to buy every single Wings thing on the shelves.
