I'll just get this out before someone comes in and pulls a ...huh?! 42.gif

The "maze" referred to by Palpatine in his last post is a second design for the new interchange the City has drawn up. Quite basically, the new design is a mess to navigate, but keeps traffic moving very smoothly. Bah, what am I doing trying to describe it... pictures tell a thousand words anyways. 3.gif

Here's the original design, first off, which you've already seen in the last update.

    vision.jpg

And, here's the second version the city has concocted.

    maze.jpg

I'll have a full update tomorrow for you guys. 4.gif Feel free to let me know which one you like better!

It's update time! I'm sorry about the delay for this update, real life got in the way of things a bit. Nevertheless, here it is! Enjoy!

    caparena.jpg

As promised, Patriots, here's a closer look at the Capilano Arena. While not terribly obvious, the areas which appear to be holes are actually glassed over. Open air arena's wouldn't handle so well in the climate the Valley has. 3.gif

    nearcappark.jpg

A shot across the H3 from Capilano Park, some more residential. The keen eye of you folk might also spot something that ties into our next picture of Capilano Valley...

    nomoremast1.jpg

No more mast! The lone one you see in this picture was recently constructed for the interchange... the final results of which will be seen in the next update, along with a newspaper featuring it! 9.gif

    mastoutside.jpg

Leading up to the city limits, City Council has decided to leave the mast lighting up, so as to increase the lighting in a generally dark and dangerous area. With so much wildlife crossing the road, good lighting is essential to safety.

    outofcityinterchange.jpg

The H3 meets the H7. Quite simply, an interchange out of town. 2.gif

    newdevelopments.jpg

And finally, here's some new developments outside city limits. When the mast lighting removal took place, these houses hadn't yet existed, and as such they remain for now. While there are plans for removing them within 18 months, nothing will be happening in the near future.

That's all for now folks! Check back in the next update for the final results of the H3/Capilano Ave. interchange!

    daniel01: Thanks!

    Mikeaut1: Thank you!! 4.gif

defcon pilot: It's on the STEX.. I believe the BAT itself is called Arbordale stadium... at least I assume so since that's the name on the side. 3.gif

    jacqulina: Thank you!

    homeandaway: Thanks a lot! 9.gif

    Mike the Mayor: Thanks!

    Krio: Hehe, yep! 3.gif

Deever: Not too  shabby a job indeed. 2.gif thanks!

Palpatine001: The maze option, eh? Check back tomorrow and see the result. 2.gif And bus stops... perhaps 4.gif

    Schulmanator: Thanks!

Mikeaut1: Two votes for the maze... we shall see. 2.gif

BlondeTwiggy: Yeah, it's a bit of a mess 3.gif But with proper road signage, it shouldn't be too bad! 4.gif

jacqulina: Wow, another for the second! Seems like a landslide. 3.gif

patriots_1228: Should we just declare the second the winner right now? 3.gif

SamTheMan: And #1 is on the board. 2.gif Thanks for the comment!

Mike the Mayor: Taking note. 3.gif Thanks!

Gamer: And another for the first... we shall see! 9.gif And thanks!!

Interchange: Well, here it is. 3.gif

Nice suburbs, but you should download more custom content. And tunnel is nice, how did you do that?

The highway snakes through the burbs and woodland quite nicely, and a good H3-H7 interchange too.

Very aesthetically pleasing city. I like the design of your transportation system. BTW, I think the original interchange int he previous update is best.... the second is way too busy. My girlfriend agrees and she's always right so.... 2.gif

Option 2 looks good and I think you went with it

As for bus stops, your sims should be crying out for them, there are the Maxis options plus my larger capacity options (which are due for renovation) to help out in busy thoroughfares 4.gif

Otherwise looking good and I have a similar indoor arena for indoor events as well for Solarian City, which reminds me TIME FOR UPDATE TO MY CJ 3.gif

Those are really great roads. Great use of the canal curces to create a flowing effect.

I think I'm the only one to say that but I usualy wouldn't use a steel arched bridge so low. The metal structure going into the water isn't very realistic. Just a suggestion. That's me being picky... Keep going this is an awesome CJ.

    It's update time!

    caph3int3.jpg

And this, my friends, is the completed design of the interchange. Slightly simplified, and it also has some traffic control, not allowing the traffic coming off the service road to get onto the H3 westbound directly. High mast lighting was also added for safety concerns.

    caph3int2.jpg

    Just another view, looking west.

    caph3int1.jpg

A zoomed out shot, showing Capilano Ave in relation to the residential in the area. The first stage of the upgrading of the Avenue ends shortly after the picture.

And just for fun, here's a few pictures of the Valley in general. Enjoy!

    capvalzoom.jpg

    dowhill.jpg

    hillyres.jpg

That's all for now folks! Sorry about the lack of the newspaper these last few days, I promise I'll have one within the next update or two. 4.gif

    comments.jpg

Krio: I've tried looking for good residential custom content, but I can never find ones of the style I want.. until then, the Euro tileset suits me just fine. 2.gif The tunnel is used with buddybud's lots... essentially the same idea as the BigDig, just on a smaller scale.

    Mikeaut1: Thank you!

    Deever: Thanks!

    Frankie_Grove: Thank you! 9.gif (and yes, I'm a little in love 3.gif)

SamTheMan: So far, just the major ones... If any other roads need mentioning, though, I'll be sure to have a name for them. 2.gif

    waldner: Thanks!

    jacqulina: Thank you! 9.gif

trich daddy: Hehe, darn girlfriends. 3.gif Hope you like the interchange, and thanks for the comment!

    homeandaway: Thanks! 4.gif

patriots_1228: Glad you like it! 9.gif

    BlondeTwiggy: Thanks you!

Cjah: For how I made it, check out my comment to Krio. 2.gif The BATs were released, and I was so freaking excited when he did lol.. I had these interchanges prepared for them, even before he released them.

Palpatine001: Partially 2.gif. And no, they whine about more important issues. 3.gif These guys luuv their cars. 2.gif

cowcorn: Thank you! And yeah.. I uhh...... blame that on uh... high flood waters! Yes, that's it! (I know, it's not realistic in real life.. 3.gif)

Your  "just for fun" segment of the update is what I like the most (it reminds me so much about my hometown. So many trees) Do the residents carry shotguns for the potential wildlife living in the nearby forest area?

I really like the suburbs on the hill...really nice and the slope is fairly normal and looks realistic!

Great job on the interchanges.....I better keep my eyes open!
