Oh it's a stream! Nice fountains, BTW.

In my opinion, the new brick see walls look great. Keep em.'

That's a mad (compliment) interchange you got there too.

Here's some pictures showing the complaints about the lighting. Any thoughts on them?

    highmast1.jpg

These are all along the H3. I promise you, in the next update I'll have a region map showing where exactly these roads I'm always blabbing about, are.

    highmast2.jpg

Small commercial district, you can also see police headquarters in this shot. And Palps, No. 2.gif

    highmast3.jpg

    Just further down the H3.

    highmast4.jpg

    Aaaand further down again. 3.gif

Sorry guys, not much of an update tonight. Tomorrow, I'll have more exciting stuff, region shots, etc. shots from around the Valley. Hope this settles your thirst until then! 4.gif

Isn't the highway too curved? I mean that you can't drive really fast so it seems a waste of money. (I know, curved highway looks better)

    capilanotrans.jpg

As promised, here is a region view showing the main and important roads running through Capilano Valley. Highways are marked in red, avenues yellow. You can see now, how aptly named Capilano Avenue is, as it follows the Capilano River down a fair ways. It was originally the highway that ran through the region, but as demand grew the province decided it was necessary to build a bypass route, which is now the H3 that we know today. While the H3 is getting filled with commuter traffic each morning, there are currently no plans to create a third bypass for the region. The city and the province are, however, considering turning Capilano Ave. into a demi-freeway, with some interchanges and higher speed limits. Possibly might be featured in the paper tomorrow.

    whatsaroundcaps.jpg

Here's some areas mentioned, and other attractions around town. This might help give you a sense of where everything is around the Valley. 4.gif

    arbordale.jpg

Arbordale Stadium, home of the Capilano River Rats, of the PCL. Was previously the only sports team in town, before the WHL agreed to expand to the Valley.

    trackstad.jpg

Track & Field stadium. Used by the Capilano High School frequently for track meets. Tennis courts also recieve frequent use by people around the valley.

And that's all for today, folks!

    comments.jpg

daniel01: Hehe, glad you liked it, and thanks! 4.gif

homeandaway:  Thank you, and I will! 9.gif

BlondeTwiggy: Hah... your loss! 3.gif Anyways, glad to see you like it, and hmm... You do seem to be in the minority about those lights. 2.gif And as for complaining, is it any different from real life? 3.gif

jacqulina: Thank you! Glad you enjoy it! 4.gif

    SamTheMan: Thanks so much!

Krio: Its got all those little curves, to emulate a much smoother curve in the 'big picture.' I know it looks bad in the close up view, but as you see from the region picture, it's a heck of a lot more realistic. Just imagine that it's a smooth line. 3.gif

    Voulpiotis: Thank you!

Cheese89: Thanks! Glad you enjoy reading my mini-novels. 3.gif

Palpatine: Thanks for the comments, and I'll consider your offer. 2.gif

Deever: Thanks for your support! Really appreciate it. 4.gif

Aah, now I understand the highway curves. I once did ringroads, it looks awesome in region view but very ugly in close-ups. And nice maps you have.

    Looking better and better beebs.

I have an idea for transit, now I know you don't use Big Dig, but I know you use NAM. I have been working on Solarian City - a river/harbour/strait/ocean/islands/mainland piece and doing transit is hard for this one, however in doing it gave me a few ideas for yours.

Capilano Ave should stay the same, again look at The Knoll in my CJ - Solaria and see how I did effective interchanges using NAM and Avenues. Forrester Drive should be turned into a Motorway and cross the river to link with H3, then build another bridge from where 45th street ends across the river and connect to Capilano Ave, this and the motorwayification of Forrester Drive can form the inner city bypass loop system, delaying the need for a highway on the Capilano Side for another 35,000 more sims.

    But that is just me

    4 thumbs up Beebs

Excellent sports facilities, especially Arbordale Stadium. I can just imagine driving through that region. I haven't reached Capilano Valley yet and already is see the beautiful mountains and waterways. Very nice.
