the best of the simcity series. (when barring SC4 custom content)

simple and pure yet deep enough to keep you playing. and it was funny! Maxis lost its humor with SC3k

Nice!! Makes me want to whip out my old copy of sc2k and start playing right now! 4.gif

Flame: True. And, remember, Maxis had not been invaded by EA yet. They did that during SC3k.

OMG i loved those building sets are they still up for download?

Man the scurk was great. I made an entire tileset for myself though it wasnt very good. But I was ten, and I thought it was totally awesome regardless of how bad it was. Do you have simcopter or streets of simcity? You know the game levels in those are simcity cities. You can load your cities and fly around them in 3d. I did that all the time. Also, you can do it backwards and take the levels and play them in simcity

Anyways, can others post in this thread though its technically a cj? I feel like breaking my game out and seeing if I can find that floppy with my tileset on it(if my mom didnt trash it 5 years ago). Maybe it would be cool to make this a showcase for anyone else who has 2000

wow, I had no idea you could do all that with sc2000...

Didn't know about the custom content but it looks like there was some pretty sweet stuff. That sure was a good game.

Great cities by the way! Put my sc2000 cities to shame!

Nah. In my opinion, anything CJ to do with SimCity's good here. 9.gif

But hey, I remember SC2000 with fond memories. In fact, I have the CD sitting somewhere nearby. It's suicide trying to run the city with newspaper subscription and the African Swallow speed on this computer. Fast. And I can't do anything, on account of the newspaper popping up all the time.

Hmm... I would love to bring it out, dust it off, but I don't know if the CD still works...

With the custom tilesets, the city looks cool. Favourite one's gotta be that Sao-Paulo style city.

WOW! SC2K really must have been an unpopular SimCity game. 28.gif How can you tell what's what?! 46.gif 42.gif 47.gif

Now this is a severe blow of nostanlgia ....

    ...

    sigh

    ...

SC2000 was a huge step forward. I loved it. First time mountains (SC classic was completell flat), tunnels, highways - I LOVED it!

I was so pround of my first Archology and I loved the Brown Llama Dome....

And they had really nice desasters! It was fun to design coastal towns that weren't completely blown away by a hurricane ... I don't like what they call "desasters" in SC4 ...

I wonder why more (or for that matter, any) arcologies haven't appeared on the STEX. The closest thing I have found is work by SOMY.

I was trying to make a BAT of the Braun Llama dome, but I gave up because I don't know anything about gmax.

It would be interesting to see a CJ done in old-skool SimCity, but, sadly, I am sure the idea would tire quickly...

Hi, war veterans of SC2000 ...

This is retro - and very attractive !!!

    Why not ...

Only may be this separate Forum in Simtropolis (like Sim2) - and credit Mike Marrast (soldier in RF Army till Decembe 2007) ?

Wow, nice cities, youd love to have the Pre-war Berlin and Frankfurt sets, they look stunning ^__^

All my old retro cities that date back to the release of the game are gone now though, have one or two crap ones going now, this because of multiple compterchanges. I was a lot better at it back in the days though, one of the first computer games i played actually, was about 7 when the game was released ^__^
