Where to get GMAX

Where do I get Gmax from?  I go to the discreet site and it states the following:

'As of October 6, 2005, Autodesk will no longer offer Gmax® software as a stand-alone product.'

Can anyone help me get it?  I downloaded the 3d max trial but the BAT will not install with that

GMAX is available from:

www.turbosquid.com/gmax

You need to register it here:

www.turbosquid.com/RegisterGmax/

The BAT is available from the BAT page of the Official SC4 website once you have Product Registered and Logged In.

This is explained fully on Page 2 of this thread.

I decided to try this again on my new computer, but the turbosquid site's download page doesn't go anywhere, gives me an error. Does this mean gmax is gone forever?

After a bunch of searching, I managed to salvage it off of my old computer, but it seems that Gmax is finally gone from the web.

That download seems to work. You still have to register it the other site though, and I know that still works.

The TurboSquid download site for gmax is working again.  It was only down temporarily.

I tried to get the Turbosquid Gmax, and then I got the BAT, but when I try to use it, It says Discreet's Gmax isnt installed. What's the problem?

In my plugins folder it says Gmax12, if that matters. :[

If gmax is properly installed the executeable for BAT should install itself properly, to open use the BAT shortcut to open the program, it will then startup gmax with the BAT splash page.

Every site I tried let me download a file called GMAX12.EXE.  However, when you run the program it installs Scottrade Elite, which is a stockmarket program.  Where can one find this real program.  I downloaded it from Turbosquid and fromthe Ausgames site.

ok. i got the same treatment from ausgames. it says "it cant find the gmaxsetup.msi in the download pakage"

Lol, this would be my first post in quite a while. Finally managed to find time to dust off the greyish stuff off my SC4 box and start playing again =)

Back on topic though, gmax can still be gotten from http://www.fileplanet.com , at least, that's where I got mine about 10mins ago... You'll need to register (its free, just troublesome) to be able to access the file though, other than that, looks all clean and working...
